"You guys ready?" Sidharth shouted, walking across the hall and entering Preeti's room. It was a late Sunday morning where the family had planned an outing together, long drives around the outskirts like their good old days.

"Knock karke aana chahiye na, I'm changing." Ajay commented when his brother-in-law walked in unannounced.

"Arey, awaz de ke toh aaya!" He defended himself.

"Waise bhi tujhe change karte kisne nahi dekha. Tujhe yaad hai ek baar Manju bua aur unki teeno betiya tere room me aa gayi thi Mom ko dhundte huye." He recalled the time when they had guests over for a function and one of their aunt and her daughters had walked into Ajay while he was changing. The brother sister high fives each other and broke into a huge fit of laughter, remembering the funny encounter.

"Ho gaya? Galti se aa gaye the unlog." Ajay rolled his eyes at them.

"Right. Right. Thik jaise teri Radha Bai bathroom me phenyl lene aati thi jab tu naha raha hota tha? Daily?" Sidharth asked.

"Ajayyy?!!" Preeti couldn't believe what she just heard about her husband, she dropped the cloth she was going to dress up her child in.

"Aye! That was back when I was a kid, hardly 5! Radha Bai aaya thi meri!" He clarified to his wife and gestured to his brother in law to zip his mouth who was busy laughing. He regretted oversharing this particular childhood memory that had just caused him immense embarrassment.

"Apne kisse sunao beta! Dusro ke mazey lena toh bada asaan hota hai.. Nagpur wale Suresh Mama yaad hai tujhe?" Preeti asked Sidharth.

"Kon..?" He tried to recall.

"Jo bhi the, just let it be. Late nahi ho raha?" He added, knowing his sister would only remember the some very mortifying moments from his life at this very time.

"Kyu? Abhi kyu late ho raha hai? Babe, yaad kar." Ajay commented, encouraging his wife.

"Mama humare ghar ruke the jab Neetu ki shaadi hone wali thi, preparations me help karne ke liye." Preeti said, looking at her brother who shook his head at her.

"Sid uss waqt MBA final year me tha aur Mama ka beta 1st year me and they asked him to for some notes and study materials if possible." Preeti added.

"Chalna yaar Pri, jaane de. Purani baat ho gayi bohot." Sidharth replied, trying to talk his sister out of it.

"Bata aage kya hua?" Ajay encouraged her.

"Aage hua ye, ki Sid ne jo study materials ke folder Mama ko diye wo kisi aur hi subject ke the. He selected the wrong folder apparently." Preeti replied.

"Oh my God! You sent them *porm!" Ajay exclaimed and burst up laughing.

"That's not the worst part." Sidharth mumbled, taking a seat on the edge of the bed.

"What's the worst part?" Ajay asked.

"The entire family saw it. Mama ne baaton baaton me sabke samne folder open kar diya tha." Sidharth sighed, guilty and ashamed out of his life for that very incident.

"Hawwww! Man, I wish I was there!" Ajay replied, laughing while holding on to his stomach when it began to hurt.

"Uss din ke baad Mama ne tujhse ek baar bhi baat nahi ki na?" Preeti ended up laughing badly as well.

"You guys know what, I'm leaving." Sidharth got up, having enough for the day.

"Hey Sid!" Ajay along with his wife followed him out, still laughing and all of them made their way out as per their plan.

"Sid, I was thinking Shehnaaz sath me hoti toh aur maza aata. Nahi?" Ajay asked.

"Ha, bilkul aata." Sidharth nodded, while driving.

"Waise kab wapas aa rahi hai wo?" Preeti asked.

"I don't really have any idea. Kafi time ke baad ghar gayi hai." He shrugged, answering.

"Hmm." His sister responded, gesturing to her husband to look at her brother's plain face. So long lost, remembering when was the last time he had a good time with his girlfriend. There was no doubt in the fact that he missed her, the dinner at her place, her cozy bed, her nonstop and nonsense talks and her entire existence.

"I miss her Chachi, she was fun to mess with." Preeti mentioned and they all chuckled recalling the wonderful dinner Harjot had invited them over to.

Shehnaaz on the other hand was having a good time, Amrit was being good to hear. Maybe it was because her father had asked her to, she assumed when her sister began to help her in the household chores.

"Ye kuch papers, mai chahta hu tumlog padho aur yadi kuch corrections karwane hai toh batao." Jagjit handed a bunch of papers to Harjot, Shehnaaz and Amrit each.

"Seedha seedha bolo na apki will hai. Sign kaha karna hai?" Amrit told her father. "

Padh toh le, dekhle tujhe kuch mil bhi raha hai ya nahi?" He replied, chuckling.

"Papa!!?" Amrit whined and began to read.

"Chachu, meko nahi chahiye kuch bhi. Aap log mere sath ho, usse zyada kuch nahi chahiye mujhe." Shehnaaz mentioned.

"Tujhe de nahi raha hu. Tera hi hai, tere Mummy Papa ki property hai." He replied, not taking no from her. He further explained a few lines from those papers and got the ladies to sign them, making sure they had something for themselves if his health wouldn't support him in the long run.

"Batao party kab karni hai?" He asked them.

"Kedi party?" Harjot asked.

"Arey, iss ghar ki maalkin ban gayi tu. Party toh dede iss gareeb ko?" He replied, making them laugh.

"Chachu bilkul nahi badle na." Shehnaaz and Amrit had planned to watch Netflix later in the night.

"Hmm, Papa kabhi nahi change hone wale." Amrit chuckled, replying and carrying her laptop to the bed and playing Friends.

"Chips?" She offered her sister.

"Nah, mann nahi kar raha." Shehnaaz shook her head, adjusting herself comfortably under the quilt, away from the snacks.

They were watching the episode when Monica and Chandler got married and Rachel found out she's pregnant. It felt like the scene rang some bell and Shehnaaz began to Google something that was on her mind since she had been feeling exhausted lately.

"Amrit kal mere sath market chalegi?" She asked.

"Han thik hai." Her sister nodded, engrossed in the show.

The next morning, Shehnaaz got ready to get herself a pregnancy test kit in the morning but her aunt kept them busy in one thing or the other, "Sana ye dekh, itni sari kacchi kairi giri kal raat ped se. Chal achaar banate hai." Harjot said and there they were, preparing pickles.

"Chachi masala nahi hai, mai leke aau market se?" Shehnaaz asked.

"Nahi nahi. Ghar me pise huye masale zyada behtar taste dete hai." Harjot replied, handling her knife and raw mangoes.

Disheartened Shehnaaz began to do as asked but she excused herself when an idea popped up in her mind. "Amrit, tu market ja rahi hai kya?" She asked.

"Nahi, lekin tujhe kuch saman lena tha na." Amit replied.

"Han, lekin mai Chachi ke sath achaar bana rahi hu. Tu le ayegi wo saman?" Shehnaaz asked.

"Hm. Thik hai." Amrit nodded casually.

"Ek uh- medical store jana. Aur na, wo uh- usko kya bolte hai? Umm." Shehnaaz kept fumbling.

"Pad chahiye? Hai mere pass." Amrit replied, still scrolling through her phone.

"Nahi yaar." Shehnaaz sighed.

"Tabiyat kharab hai teri?" Amrit asked again.

"Ha thodi si matlab. I think I might be uh- a little bit pregnant." Shehnaaz sighed.

"Kyaaa? Tu pregn-" Amrit looked at her with shock and spoke out loud when her sister cupped her mouth.

"Sshhhhh! Mai sure nahi hu, test kit le aana." Shehnaaz whispered.

"Mai kaise le aau? Yaha ke medical store wale Papa ko jante hai!" Amrit whispered back, tensed.

"Kahi aur se le aa please. Meko 2-4 din se ajeeb lag raha hai, lekin mauka nahi mil raha jaane ka. Aaj Chachi ne achaar banane ko bola, mai kaise jau ab." Shehnaaz pleaded.

"Yaar Sana, tu marwayegi!" Amrit replied, thinking of medical stores where she wouldn't find any acquaintances.

"Please na, please, please!" Shehnaaz kept requesting.

"Thik hai, thik hai." Amrit agreed anyway.

"Thank you!" Shehnaaz hugged her sister tightly, sighing in relief.

"Pray you're not pregnant. Mummy kha jayegi tujhe!" Amrit replied, making her way out of the house in excuse of catching up with an old friend.
