Yes, Shehnaaz was pregnant! Sidharth got concerned when she puked once again the following day while they were about to have lunch and they visited the nearest hospital.

"Is she okay? Is it the food?" Their guide had asked.

"No man, she's pregnant!" Sidharth hugged the guy out of excitement. Such was the joy, his happiness knew no bounds when they got to know that she was carrying his child. Their child. Their symbol of love. Their little version. She was seven weeks far and it meant they made the baby right after the surprise proposal!

"Mujhe dar lag raha hai.." Shehnaaz mumbled when they came back to their room.

"It's okay, you're going to be fine. Mai rakhunga tera khayal -" he was consoling her.

"Nahi! Mujhe pata hi nahi tha ke andar baby hai aur maine daru pi hai abhi kuch dino me! Oh God! How could I do this?!" She worriedly asked on the verge of crying.

He was concerned about the same now because he was the one drinking along with her all the while but it wasn't their fault because they themselves didn't know.

"We'll consult the doctor, thik hai. You know Preeti's doc is the best. She'll guide us through. Tu tension mat le, hume nahi pata tha na." He replied, taking her in his embrace and ensuring her. They sat in silence for a while and aimlessly stared at the pregnancy report in front of them.

"I cannot believe I'm pregnant! Haaye! Iss baar Chachi ko problem na ho!" She wondered.

"Shut up!" He replied and the two chuckled recalling their very adventurous trip to Punjab when they had a pregnancy scare.

"Mai chah ke bhi bhool nahi sakti, kitna drama hua tha!" She sighed.

"Mai bhi nahi bhoolunga, kis dramebaaz family se pala pada tha!" He added, biting his tongue sidewise and she smacked his chest in response.

"Kutte! Pala pada tha nahi, HAI! Abhi wohi family teri bhi hai, bakwas mat kar!" She snapped at him.

"Sorry! Oh I'm so happy! You'll finally address our child as the baby and not those fishes anymore." He said and she laughed at that.

They were staying at Belmond Hotel that had the facilities of a private dock, gardens, a floating terrace, a spa and a swimming pool. This hotel was situated on Giudecca Island, away from the crowds. Just a five-minute boat ride from St Mark's Square. They decided not to cut short their trip because this would probably be their last trip together before the baby and thought to make the most out of it. They visited Verona for the last two days, it was known as the city of love because it has been framed for being the setting of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Located a little over an hour from Venice, it proved to be a tranquil and romantic destination for the couple.

They broke the news to the family when they returned to Mumbai, their family's reaction was no less, Rita ji threw a feast and herself cooked for everybody. Shehnaaz was taken care of like a baby herself throughout the course, her family from Punjab used to visit her often.

"Isko humesha pehne rehna." Harjot got her niece an amulet she got blessed from their gurudwara because Shehnaaz won't be able to wear bangles along with the laddoo she made with dry fruits and desi ghee.

"Aap Chachu ko itne dino ke liye akele chhod ke aa gaye? Unko aapki zarurat nahi hogi?" She asked her aunt while tying the amulet around her neck.

"Unhone hi bheja hai mujhe! Tu mat soch zyada!" Harjot assured.

Sidharth made sure he was by her side in each and every phase of their pregnancy, made sure she ate well and slept well. Her mood swings and tantrums didn't help though, it happened when she was six months pregnant and Sidharth attended back to back meetings for a weekend so that he could finish off his work a little early and take some days off to be with her at the baby shower ceremony.

"Maa mujhe bahar jana hai, kuch teekha khane ka mann ho raha hai." She requested her mother in law. "Bas Sidharth aata hu hoga, chale jana tu." Rita ji replied.

"Nahi, uske bharose baithi rahi toh kahi jane nahi milega! Aapko pata, kal raat 9 baje ghar aaya, mujhe bolke gaya tha 7 baje ayega!" Shehnaaz complained.

"Ho gayi shuru." Harjot shook her head while cooking in the kitchen, she knew her niece.

"Acha, aisa? Aane de usko, mai khabar lungi uski!" Rita ji played along.

"Toh mai jau? Dekho Ajay Abhyukt ko park leke jaate hai na. Wahi tak jaungi, unke sath." She requested and the family couldn't say no to her cute face.

"Mami park?" Abhyukt asked when she accompanied them on their way.

"Han baba, tu mujhe khilayega apne sath?" She asked him and he nodded excitedly. However, she spent some time with the kid in the park with his friends and had a bunch of junk food from the stalls by the streets and returned home but Sidharth was still stuck with work.

"Dekha! Isliye mujhe yahi rehna hai, kam se kam koi hai toh baat karne ke liye!" She whined because she had reduced her work hours and used to come home early but she didn't know what to do while she was home.

"Tere liye hi itni mehnat kar raha hai!" Harjot justified.

"Lekin isko ignore kyu kar raha hai? She needs him the most now! Bichari!" Ajay shrugged, adding fuel to the fire.

"You're so bad!" Preeti told her husband, her brother was in trouble now as she watched Shehnaaz leave for her room sadly.

"Khana khaya usne?" Sidharth asked when he returned home late.

"Ha, khane ki tension mat le. Gusse me double khati hai!" Preeti chuckled, letting him know.

"Abey yaar.." he sighed walking over to his bedroom to find it locked.

"Why have you locked the door Shehnaaz!? Khol baby!" He knocked, calling her out.

"Office me hi reh tu, ghar kyu aaya?" She replied.

"I had this meeting with an investor, sorry I'm late." He apologized.

"Nahi chahiye teri sorry!" She replied.

"Don't do this na darling, aage se late hoga! Kholna baby darwaza!" He pleaded, leaning against the door.

"Ice cream khani hai." She opened the door on her condition.

"Your wish, my command." He bowed and she noticed how he was in his formals. Her heart melted at the site and she hugged him near his heart.

"Maine teko kitna miss kiya, tu jaldi aaya kar na!" She pouted.

"Aw, I missed you too my love. Bas kal aur, phir kabhi late nahi aunga. Promise!" He replied.

"Kal Sunday hai!" She whined. "Sirf kal. Uske baad kabhi nahi. Promise!" He repeated himself, taking her lips in for a quick kiss. Just a kiss, a bad and rough one at times was all he needed to coax her, her hormones used to help him every time she used to be mad at him.

Time flew faster than they expected and Shehnaaz went into labour a day before her due date.

"Do you want me to make a video? Nurse puch rahi thi?" He asked her to distract her from the pain if he could while the doctor and her assistants worked around to deliver the baby.

"Mai mar rahi hu idhar dard me! Tujhe video ki padi hai?! Aaah!!!" She shouted at him, panting and sweating even before the baby was out of her system.

"Just asking." He mumbled, kissing her head. The delivery was not a matter of a few minutes and in her case, there were 4 hours of labour and then another hour of just pushing the baby out.

It was a beautiful girl, small and pink and so tiny that Sidharth's hands trembled as he watched the nurses clean up his daughter before handing it to him. "It's a girl!" He cried, carrying his baby towards his wife.

She could barely open her eyes due to exhaustion but still managed to smile and wipe his tears.

"Our girl!" She told him, finding tears trickling down her own cheeks. The nurses then cleaned up the mother while he introduced his daughter to the rest of the family.

Three years later:

"Shambhavi! Bhaago nahi!" Shehnaaz held her daughter's hand at the airport when the little one tried to run away excitedly towards the terminal.

"Mumma chocolate khani hai!" Shambhavi whined.

"Nahi milegi, chup karke baith ja!" She snapped at her daughter.

"Daant mat." Sidharth intervened, carrying his daughter in his arms and pulling out a chocolate and his phone to have her distracted for a while.

They were going to Punjab to see Jagjit who was really sick, he had another heart attack in the previous years and had been visiting hospitals often, Rita ji accompanied them as well. They had been visiting him in Punjab often, requesting him to come over to Mumbai and consult another cardiologist but Jagjit didn't agree, he was adamant to stay home with his loved ones for the few days he was left with. Shehnaaz was so stressed, everybody was, it was like they knew he wasn't going to stay with them for long.

"Papa aul kitni del?" Shambhavi asked her father as they boarded.

"Abhi toh plane uda bhi nahi hai beta, 2 more hours." He replied and made her sit in between them on the seat and buckled the seat belt.

"No, kholo isko. Aapke sath baithna hai." She said, tugging on the belt.

"Okay, come." He replied, doing as she asked him to.

"Bhooki laggi." She told him as soon as he sat her on his lap.

"Okay." He nodded, putting her aside and getting up to grab a packet of chips from their handbag.

"Chips!" She chirped as soon as she heard the sound of packets shuffling.

"Hm, here." He handed her a packet and his wife a bottle of water.

"Nahi peena." Shehnaaz shook her head.

"Dadi chips?" Shambhavi hopped into her grandma's seat to sit on her lap now.

"Nahi bacha, tu khale." Dadi denied.

"Mumma!" Shambhavi moved into her mother's lap when she saw her resting her head on her father's shoulder.

"Pani piyegi?" Shehnaaz asked her and then made her sip from the bottle slowly.

"Mumma, phone dona." Shambhavi requested.

"Plane me allowed nahi hai baby." Her mother replied.

"Hai, usko dekho." Shambhavi insisted, she had seen another kid playing with a tablet on their adjacent seat.

"Babu, mere phone me battery nahi hai. Nanu ko call aayega na, isliye nahi de sakti mai tujhe." She denied politely only to find her child pouting even more.

"Papa!" Shambhavi whined.

"Tune phone ki adat dalwa rakhi hai!" He shook his head.

"Dadi ke pas jana." Shambhavi mentioned and they happily let her join her grandmother.

"Maine? Maine dalwai hai adat? Abhi airport pe kisne phone diya isko?" Shehnaaz snapped at him.

Their daughter was an active and talkative child, she could be handful at times. But it was her, a perfect blend of the two of them with her facial features close to Shehnaaz's.

Harjot welcomed them and carried sleeping Shambhavi for them.

"Chachu kaise hai?" Shehnaaz asked.

"Ziddi!" Harjot sighed, watching her husband getting sick day by day wasn't easy for her as well.

"Aa gaye meri bacchi!" Jagjit sat up when shambhavi was brought in.

"Nanu!" The child squealed, almost running into his weak arms as soon as she woke up.

"Tere baal kitne bade ho gaye! Choti kisne banai?" He asked her.

"Mumma, achi lagli hu mai?" She asked him.

"Bohot pyaari lag rahi!" He replied, kissing her head. They spent a few days there, Jagjit was always more cheerful around their visits even though his health wouldn't get any better.

Another year later:

"Mumma, fishy ko bhooki lagi?" Shambhavi asked one fine day, looking at the aquarium.

"Nahi, raat ko lagti hai. Tabhi dena khana." Shehnaaz replied. Her daughter was sitting on the dining table while she was doing her hair, tying her small into two piggy tails and getting her ready for her play school.

"Tiffin poora khatam karna. Sandwich pasand hai na, wohi diya hai!" Shehnaaz said, tying her daughter's shoe laces.

"Papa ko awaz de!" She told her.

"Papa! Late ho laha hai! Talooo!" Shambhavi shouted just the way her mother had taught her.

Sidharth's heart soared when he looked at the sight of his wife working non stop all day, taking care of their baby, food, their home and her work. Oh you superwoman! I love you so much! He found himself really lucky to have someone like her as a partner. Not only did she brighten his life with her love, she taught him how to love and then brought this beautiful child into the world.

"Aa gaya meri maa! Talo!" He mimicked, picking her up in his arms and acting as if he was about to bite her cheeks.

"Nooo!" She giggled, then settled herself in his lap and watched him eat.

"Papa dali!" She giggled, caressing his stubbled chin that tickled her when he kissed her cheek.

"Hm, Papa ko yaad dilana shaam ko shave karna hai." He told her and she nodded. Done with breakfast, the two were ready to leave.

"Mumma ko bye bolo." He told his daughter.

"Mumma byee! Muah!" Shambhavi held her mother's face in her hands and kissed it.

"Bye, muah!" Sidharth pecked his wife's lips really quick, bidding her bye with his daughter in his arms.

"Drive safe okay." He told her, before walking away.

"You too!" Shehnaaz nodded and watched the duo leave with her heart filled with love and warmth.

These two were her life! Well, one could count her studio as well. She was a profound dress designer of the studio 'Ardaas' and was doing pretty well by herself. That was it, her life in a nutshell with her daughter, husband, family and work! Her husband, the man who literally blessed her life since the moment he entered. Even though they had their own ups and downs, she had never been this happy before him. And their marital life? It was a bliss! He was so supportive and helpful, she simply loved him even more.

She was about to close the door when she heard her daughter. "Mumma Papa ka phone!" And she laughed.

"Laai!" She shouted back, running in and grabbing his phone to give it to him.
