Mid-week, mid-fall and start of October. Chayoung had just gotten the news of the halloween party the college was hosting at the end of the month. The girl was eagerly on her way to the football field, expecting to bring the news to her roommate and her boyfriend who should definitely both be there!

Chayoung was of course not one to party too much. She never had the friends nor the will to voluntarily go to a club or anything. But this time was different.

She had friends now. One who even knew her darkest secrets, her biggest regrets and her strongest guilts. Haneul was just like her name. A sky, a beautiful and clear one that continuously lit up Chayoung's day — if not life.

She had a boyfriend. One who cherished her, made her laugh and feel somewhat important. Sometimes she still had troubles believing that Jungkook was actually real and not some hologram or illusion she made up... or even that he hadn't gotten some dare from his friends. But nope, he just was that great of a guy.

Which was like a constant reminder that the girl was not. She had secrets.

There was no reason for Chayoung to tell Jungkook about her former secret job other than to lift a weight off of her chest. But that weight was pretty damn heavy, meaning the one reason was pretty reasonable. She had her moments, feeling like the worst girlfriend ever, but she also had moments of intrusive thoughts, warning her of all the things that could happen if she told Jungkook. And alas, her fear outweighed her guilt.

Today however, Chayoung was in a good mood. The day before she paid the loan repayments of the previous month and she had more spare money than she usually had, which meant she could pay off a bit more than usually. And in addition to that, the girl didn't have a shift on the day of the halloween party. And above all, the sun was shining making it nice fall weather to be out in.

To Chayoung, the day just couldn't get any better.

Especially because school was over and she was heading to see her favorite people.

First she'd go see Haneul. She figured the football team would have some kind of post-practice meeting or something and the cheerleaders were always finished a bit before them anyway. Chayoung had timed her appearance so she wouldn't have to wait for the cheer team to be finished. She would get there, spot Haneul, tell her about the halloween party, maybe ask if they should have a girls-night on Friday with snacks and all and maybe—

...maybe Taehyung would be joining?

Right in front of her eyes was Haneul, cornered up between the concrete wall and Taehyung's body. Each of his hands were placed firmly on the wall next to the girl's head. Haneul's hands however were roaming around Taehyung's hair, entangling her fingers in his strands as she pulled him closer to her parted lips where his tongue was buried deep inside.

Chayoung stopped in her tracks at first sight. Her eyes widened and her body stiffened as if she saw a ghost. Actually, maybe she would've been less surprised if she did. A ghost would be more likely to witness than this.

She was just at the opening of the tunnel leading to the football field beneath the seats. She was at a safe distance from the two people to notice her as they were way ahead in the tunnel, and way busy.

Chayoung didn't willingly stand there and watch her self-proclaimed best friend make out with said girl's ex-boyfriend — for whom she by the way always made sure to point out her long gone feelings — but it was such an unexpected sight that she had trouble looking away. It was almost as if she didn't believe her own eyes... last time she checked, her eyesight was just fine?

The lurker didn't know how long she stood there, watching, before she left... but she watched the two sucking tongue long enough to decide that she didn't hallucinate. And that Taehyung's tongue was indeed far down Haneul's throat.

Walking back the same direction she came from, Chayoung dropped her plans of talking to Haneul and Jungkook.

She probably shouldn't have seen Haneul and Taehyung kiss. No, fuck that. She definitely shouldn't have seen it.

Haneul always did her best to correct Chayoung whenever she talked about the two as a couple. Just at a simple mention of Taehyung's name, the girl would clarify their situation as just friends and nothing else. At the sight of him, she would turn around and fake a gag.

But Chayoung was no one to fool. She didn't have much experience in having friends nor crushes, but holy hell Haneul was a bad liar.

She knew she was right! Chayoung knew it all along. And to be honest, she couldn't help the victorious feeling filling her up inside. But apart from the inner triumph the girl was experiencing, she also felt excited.

Chayoung decided to head back to her dorm. The news could wait. She'd text Jungkook later. Taehyung and Haneul was blocking the tunnel and the girl did not bother to walk around the rows of seats... she forgot what she even wanted to say in the first place. Now, all she could think about was the possible double dates she, Jungkook, Haneul and Taehyung would be able to go on!

Chayoung: Is your roommate gonna be away tonight?  [ 5:17 PM ]

JungkookWhy? What are you thinking?😏  [ 5:18 PM ]

Chayoung: A movie, snacks, cuddling...  [ 5:18 PM ]

Chayoung: What were you thinking? [ 5:18 PM ]

Jungkook: Same thing. [ 5:19 PM ]

Chayoung: Let's pretend I believe that... is he there?  [ 5:19 PM ]

Jungkook: He is [ 5:19 PM ]

The three ellipses marking the girl was typing in her reply showed up, then disappeared. Jungkook bit his lip, wondering if it upset the girl. Three dots showed, disappeared and showed up again.

Chayoung: Oh... [ 5:21 PM ]

Even though Jungkook hated to see the girl disappointed, he couldn't help but smirk imagining her pout. Why would she be disappointed that he wasn't alone in his dorm unless... she wanted to do something?

Jungkook: You can still come... or we can rent a hotel room? [ 5:21 PM ]

Chayoung: You're such a boy! [ 5:22 PM ]

Jungkook: Mhm, one you like😚 [ 5:22 PM ]

Chayoung: Depends on my mood🙄 [ 5:22 PM ]

Jungkook: Right. Sometimes you like me, other times you scream my name... naked [ 5:22 PM ]

Chayoung: Jungkook! That's not what I meant! [ 5:23 PM ]

Jungkook: See, you're even screaming my name over texts. Didn't know my girl was into sexting? [ 5:23 PM ]

The three ellipses showed again, stopped and showed and then disappeared. It made Jungkook chuckle.

Jungkook: We can go for a walk? [ 5:24 PM ]

Chayoung: That'd be nice!🥰 [ 5:25 PM ]

Jungkook: Then you can fill me in on what you were thinking earlier when asking if my roommate stayed in today😉 [ 5:25 PM ]

"Jungkook, good job today! See you at next practice!" The coach called out catching Jungkook's attention.

Jungkook nodded and yelled back, "Thanks coach, see you!"

He didn't even notice how all his teammates had left the field and it was practically empty now, apart from a few people running tracks in the far end of the field.

Jungkook chuckled lightly, about to direct his attention back to his phone. He loved teasing Chayoung. He enjoyed her reactions. Whether they were sassy replies or stunned ones they were always amusing.

But before Jungkook got to open his phone again, his eyes landed on a person ahead of him. His back was facing Jungkook, but something inside him crawled when he recognized the silver hair.

Squinting his eyes and taking a few steps forward, he noticed a guy in front of the silver-haired one. They were standing at the end of the seats, talking and shaking hands before the guy Jungkook recognized as a student headed away and only the silver-haired dude was left.

The guy brought a phone to his ear afterwards. Jungkook curiously stepped closer to make sure of his assumption. It could be a coincidence... no, it could not. The voice speaking into the phone was not to confused by. Jungkook knew that voice damn well.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Jungkook raised his voice, taking the last steps towards the silver haired guy. Said dude turned around and when he noticed Jungkook, a wide smile spread on his lips. Putting down his phone, mumbling a few words before hanging up, he stepped forward and patted Jungkook on the shoulder, "Jungkook, pleasant to see you here!"

Jungkook immediately noticed his other hand moving behind his back, pushing something into his back pocket  — supposedly cash.

"Don't touch me Yoongi." Jungkook shrugged off his hand.

"Woah, aren't you in a bright mood today? Last I checked, you struck me to the ground, not vice versa. So what's up with the attitude?" Yoongi showed his gummy smile, stuffing both his hands into his front pockets now.

"Drop the act Yoongi. I know exactly what you're doing here."

"What I'm doing here?"

Jungkook couldn't help but roll his eyes. This guy wouldn't be casted even in the worst movie of all time. He was a terrible actor.

"You're here for my dad aren't you? You're working for him-"

"Dude, stop right there. I'm not working for your dad anymore. It's been long since I did that." Yoongi chuckled. He bent his knee, leaning his one shoulder against the rows of seats. He stood in a relaxed position. It pissed off Jungkook.

"Cut the bullshit Min Yoongi. I know you just sold to that guy." Jungkook spoke through gritted teeth.

"I did." Yoongi breathed confidently, almost gloated, "But not for your father. I've ranked up since then. Upgraded. Got richer, bags. Whatever you wanna call it."

"Maybe gotten dumber? Less intelligent, more foolish, maybe even desperate? I could probably call you a murderer too, but I don't like to use that word."

Yoongi chuckled at the words coming from Jungkook's mouth, "Careful with your words. Might come right back at ya, am I right?"

Jungkook clenched his fists to the brink where the white was showing on his knuckles. He so wanted to finish what he started the other night, beating the guy before him until the smile would never find its way back. But Jungkook couldn't be caught beating someone up on campus. And especially not a drug dealer. What wouldn't people think?

A failed deal? A rage fit because of some powder? Jungkook was an addict? No way.

"Anyways, I've heard you got a girlfriend. Congratulations bro."

Again the silver haired guy stepped forwards, nudging Jungkook's shoulder in a brotherly way. But hell no. That time was long gone.

Several years back, more than just a few, Min Yoongi and Jeon Jungkook had been best friends. The two met during middle school and quickly became friends. They both shared an interest in music back then, piecing them together as a puzzle. They were basically inseparable.

In school they were known as Bangtan. Yoongi was the one coming up with the name. Jungkook sang, Yoongi rapped and they both agreed on becoming famous one day after graduating that shit school. At that time they were age 13 and 14, already dreaming about the future. They would become legends. They often questioned what they were even doing in a school they were too cool for anyway.

But as time progressed, the idea got a little more to one's head than the other's. Yoongi started thinking about the money. Jungkook knew of his best friend's poor family and non-supportive parents. But Jungkook never knew how much it affected his friend until Yoongi's main dream was not only to rap beside Jungkook but to become rich enough to never sleep on a thin mattress again.

At that time the two boys were 15 and 16. Jungkook immediately noticed the change in his friend's demeanor after his first talk about money, but he never suspected his father to play a role in it.

Only a few months prior, Jungkook's dad had revealed his secret identity to Jungkook as he'd brought his son to a drug dealer sale. There, his father ending up killing a guy who didn't bring enough money. The murder that Jungkook had often blamed upon himself.

The 15 year old boy never forgot it, but he didn't talk about it either. Not even to his best friend, Min Yoongi.

Which was why he was caught with his pants down when Yoongi first mentioned it. He'd told Jungkook what Jungkook had experienced, as if Yoongi had been there too. As if he knew the fright inside Jungkook, the anxiety, the scar, the guilt. And right after, Yoongi told him that he'd started dealing for his father.

His father had lured Yoongi into his drug dealing with pep talks of money and becoming rich. And obviously his dad did it to make Jungkook join too.

Jungkook didn't want to blame it on Yoongi that he accepted the 'job'. Yoongi was only 16, he was young and naive. He'd experienced parental neglect, never had someone caring for him and obviously Jungkook's father had used that against him.

And sadly.. it worked. He had manipulated him just right. Yoongi succumbed to a world of drug trafficking and when when he first started there was no point in trying to get him to stop. Yoongi changed. He talked more to Jungkook's dad, than Jungkook. He became strange, drank often and even started taking drugs himself. He left his passion of rapping, leaving Jungkook with giving up on his passion for singing. At last, Jungkook didn't recognize the boy he once called him best friend.

In a matter of months, Jungkook saw his friend change in front of his eyes. And it was his father's work. But he wasn't alone to be blamed. Yoongi became a monster in Jungkook's eyes, just like his father. And he didn't even care to find the old Yoongi back.

"I'm not your bro."

Jungkook's gaze had fallen to Yoongi's feet. His shoes were dirty and damaged. He obviously hadn't gotten to live out his dream as becoming a rich drug dealer. Jungkook never believed he would anyway.

"Chayoung right?"

The mention of her name made Jungkook's gaze shoot up. His eyes were bloodshot. That name did not belong on his tongue.

"Isn't that her name?" Yoongi mused, rubbing his chin.

"Keep her name out of your mouth." Jungkook gritted his teeth. He clenched tight, trying to release his desired aggressions somewhere else than on the monster's face in front of him.

"Will do. I'll keep calling her Casey." Yoongi looked to the side, an empty look in his eyes. Almost as if he was remembering something, "That's what she told me to anyway."

"What?" The question came out weak from Jungkook's mouth. It surprised him how fast he unclenched his teeth. But if Jungkook remembered one thing about Yoongi, it was his intelligence. His slurs were never without meaning.

"I'll tell you one thing." Yoongi straightened up, walking towards Jungkook.

Jungkook observed as he did so, his slender walk reminding him of how much the boy had changed.

"She's a great doll. One of the best I've thrusted my dick into." Yoongi let out almost in a whisper.

"Go to hell!" Jungkook yelled, pushing the guy away from him with such a force Yoongi stumbled back some distance before finding his balance again and his stupid, stupid, grin.

Yoongi cocked his head, shoving his hands back into his front pockets and smiling widely at the infuriated guy in front of him. The weak guy, the scared one, the one who didn't have balls big enough to deal with a bit of white powder for a large sum of cash. He scoffed. Pathetic.

Jungkook's chest was heaving excessively fast. His body temperature was rising. His fisted hands started shaking, his body trembling slightly as well. It took the strength of every fiber within the boy to not jump the silvered guy in front of him. But too, it took everything within him to not beg the Yoongi he once knew to come back.

Jungkook had new friends now... but he would never forget the friend he once had.

After several seconds of the two staring at each other — maybe more like minutes —, Yoongi turned around and slowly left. Jungkook released his tensed position and let out a deep sigh.

But despite the relief of Yoongi leaving, the adrenaline was still pumping in Jungkook's veins. The hatred, the anger and the betrayal.

Maybe for once, Yoongi didn't actually mean something with what he said. Maybe, he wasn't as intelligent as he once was. Maybe, he only mentioned Chayoung to test Jungkook. And it worked. Jungkook hated him more than ever.
