Naru's POV

Hunger grew in his stomach. Everywhere he looked. Meat.

He growled. His whole spine ached.
I just ate how could I be hungry already?

A little boy ran under a bridge to retrieve his ball. He acted on reflex. He prowled in the shadow.

The little boy turned. His face lit with fear. Naru felt the veins by his right eye blacken and spread across his face. Do it. A voice whispered in his mind. If you don't I will. Something pressed against his brain commanding authority. I deserve to be fed.

The boy stood paralyzed by fear. Who are you?  Naru telepathically sent.

He rushed forward. His fingers curled around the boy's throat. I'm your master. Now feed. Naru bit down a warm, coppery liquid flowed over his tongue. You suppress your instinct to hunt. I'll teach you to enjoy it.

Naru took another bite, and another, until a chunk from the boy was missing. The pain subsided. Regret filled its place.

"Kato?" The boy's mother called. Her voice filled with worry.

Not knowing what else to do he ran. Stupid voice messing up my life. A familiar figure appeared. Without any warning Naru bowled into him.

"Naru?" His friend, Xander yelped as they fell.

Xander leapt to his feet and offered Naru his hand, but hesitated upon seeing the crimson blood covering Naru. He wiped his mouth with his sleeve. Only to smear it worse. His cheeks pricked with embarrassment.

"Naru, what's going on?" Xander engaged.

He hung his head low as he shuffled to his feet. He sprinted away, tears threatening to spill.

Xander will just report me. Then I'll be caught. Naru blinked. Not unless you call on me, Naru.

Who are you?

A picture appeared in his mind of a black haired man his age. I'm your future. My name is Masayuki. I'm you.
You're not a CCG trainee anymore.
