I just realized "Sekiro: Shadows die twice" might be based on Artorias the Abysswalker.
Think of it. Wolf lost his left arm and Artorias had his arm broken. They're both related to wolves and they both dedicate themselves to a rescue mission while fighting the spread of something dangerous.
