Adrien immediately regretted his words. He had gone to far. He could already see Marinette's eyes watering, her lips shaking...

I have loved you for the past year! It took me over 5 months to build up enough courage to be able to say one word after the other in your presence! Bursted Marinette as fat tears dropped down her cheeks.

He knew she was right. When they first met, Marinette wouldn't even risk making eye contact. He watched as Marinette ran out the room in tears.

He took his head in his hands and closed his eyes.

" This isn't my fault. She just paranoïde... right ?" Answerless questions flew through his brain. He couldn't think anymore. The image of Marinette's face with teary eyes reappeared in his mind. He hated when she cried...

During a shopping activity downtown. Marinette had gone off by her own. She needed to think, organise her brain.

She walked in a busy street then turned in a small, uncrowded alley. She stopped and sighted. She was completely lost...

She looked around. The alley was really narrow and the buildings really high; It was pretty dark.

She heard some footsteps. Her heart beat faster. She was scared.

Marineeette...

She recognized that voice, but someone else was with her, Three.. no four people were behind her. She slowly turned around. She considered with horror the four silhouettes in the dark alley. Chloe, Lila and two other guys she had never seen before.

The two guys were huge, very muscular and... pretty dangerous overall. Before she could do anything someone grabbed her from behind and blocked her mouth with their hand.

He lifted her off the ground. Marinette was terrified. She didn't know what to do. The evil laughs of Chloe and Lila weren't really helping either.

So Marinette. I heard you're going out with Adrien ? Said Chloe with a disgusted expression.

She strongly slapped Marinette.

Could you have forgotten he's MY man ? She continued.

She turned around and signaled Lila to join in. She grinned, walked slowly towards Marinette then stopped a few millimeters from her head.

She strongly kicked Marinette in the stomach. Her grin grew larger as she saw Marinette's petrified expression.

Lila looked at the man behind Marinette. He violently threw her to the ground. Marinette fell on her shoulder. She didn't know what to do anymore. She closed her eyes and waited. She didn't show any resistance. Lila laid her foot on Marinette face. She put all her wait on her foot pressing Marinette's face under her feet.

know your place bitch!

Marinette looked at LIla's smile. She then saw Chloe laughing behind the two guys.

Are you done. She said.

Lila smiled

Oh we're just getting started... She said, revealing an evil grin.

She glared at one of the guys. He took two big boxes out of his backpack.

He handed one to Lila and the other to Chloe.

Lila finally took her foot of Marinette's face. She opened the lid, revealing pieces of shattered glass. Marinette's eyes widened she hid her face in her hand. there was no way! no way they would do that!

One aggressively grabbed Marinette's hair and raised her head.

It's ok kevin, if she gets some in her eyes it'll be a problem. Said chloe as she opened her box.

The man nodded and walked behind the two girls.

Marinette couldn't feel her hands. She was scared. Terrified. She was alone, in an abandoned street, with two psychopaths armed with shattered glass. She stopped breathing. Pieces of shattered glass flew over her body. Gently biting her skin Her whole body was in pain. All because she was in love with Adrien.

When the girls were out of shattered glass they started kicking Marinette. They were laughing. About one hour had passed since they had ambushed her in the alley. They had insulted her, kicked her, cut her, spit on her... All because she loved Adrien; She then wondered why Chloe and Lila had payed Three guys just for the occasion. Probably just too scar her. Marinette couldn't even feel the pain anymore. Every part of her body was numb.

i hope you learn you're lesson, bitch.

Said Lila as she walked away. She was followed by Chloe. The two girls walked away bursting in laughter.

Marinette slowly stood up. She couldn't walk. Her leg was cut in various places and she felt a little dizzy. She took out her phone. She thought about calling Alya but abandoned the idea. She would probably call the police and she didn't really want to make a mess out of everything. She called Adrien. She prayed for him to answer. Maybe he didn't want to see her, maybe-

" - What is it know? he said.

Adrien i'm in first alley. I can't walk. Please come help me. She said, her voice was barely hearable. She was out of energy.

i'm on my way. He simply answered."

Marinette sighed. She could feel the cold cimet against her back. She felt her head pound. She couldn't keep her eyes open. She tried relaxing when she felt her stomach contract, she bend her head forwards. She coughed in her hand. She looked in horror as blood was dripping from her hand. Girls were scary. That was why she wanted it to be a secret...

wait how did they know? did Adrien tell them?

Well it didn't matter anymore. She just felt cold. Terribly cold.

Adrien ran towards the alley Marinette had indicated. He was worried. Marinette sounded terribly week during the phone call. If something happened to her he wouldn't forgive himself-

He froze. He saw Marinette. Laying her back against the wall. She wasn't moving. He ran towards her. His eyes widened.

Marinette was in really bad shape. She had cuts everywhere and wounds all over her body. He fell on his knees in front of her. He hair was all messed up and her lip was bleeding. She slowly opened her eyes. Terror, fear... Her eyes looked red and exhausted.

She smiled.

Thanks for coming. She said.

She was smiling but her hands were still shaking. Adrien took Marinette in his arms and held her tightly.

What happened Mari... who did this to you.

Marinette felt Adrien voice trembling, he was probably crying.

She laid a hand on his head and gently patted his hair.

It's ok kitty... i'm fine now.

Adrien sniffed. Her body felt cold, she didn't look like she had any major injuries but she was obviously exhausted and her arms and legs were covered in cuts, she had also apparently been hit in the stomach. She would be ok, but in the meantime...

Who did this to you? he asked, he broke the hug and looked at her straight in the eye.

Marinette trembled. His voice was cold and wasn't as worried as before, he was determined. Marinette thought there was no use in lying, she couldn't possibly fool him.

Chloe and Lila. They knew about us.... They... they told me you were "their" man and... I'm sorry... I'm just... I'm still a little shocked...

Adrien closed his eyes. His insides were burning with rage. " Their man". How could they be so cruel. The image of Marinette sitting alone in the alley, bruises and cuts covering her body. He opened his eyes when he heared a small sniff. His eyes widened. Marinette was crying. She wrapped her hands around his shoulders. Her body was still shaking. He could hear her crying on his shoulder. She was terrified.

I was so scared... They ambushed me in this dark alley.... but they weren't alone, they were with Four other guys ! They looked strong. I could easily have handled the girls., but the guys were too strong and they looked way too confident not to have a knife... or even a gun. They took me from behind and then the girls started slapping and kicking me... then they started laughing when they saw me cry when the dropped glass on me. I was terrified.

Adrien wasn't angry anymore. What he felt was so much more... Hatred, disgust. A cold feeling was burning him inside.

It's okay Marinette, I'm here now...

He embraced her tightly. He turned his head over and gently kissed her cheek. Her breath got more stable and she stopped crying. She broke the hug and looked at Adrien with love.

He pushed her bangs out of the way and kissed her forehead.

She buried her face in his shoulders and smiled. It was cold outside but she felt warm. Really warm.
