Enough was enough! All Sanskar knew was he was not going to let Kavita hurt Swara anymore.

Jerking her hand in front of everybody, swooshing away the light environment that'd been throughout this party, the scenario filled with seriousness as every pair of astonished eyes stared at Sanskar and Kavita.

No sooner Kavita regained her senses, she snapped her head towards Sanskar, finding him glaring at her, and she was taken aback by the sudden turn of events.

"Sanskar!" Kavita shouted at him.

"Don't!" Sanskar raised his finger at her, and the bluntness in his cold tone instantly shut her up. "Don't you even try to, Ms Kavita Roy." How dare she had the audacity to shout when she was the one to talk here!

And this left everyone to wonder... what the heck was actually going on! Whereas on the other hand, Rajat was smiling winningly, Anushka looked confused and Swara looked on shocked.

"I've already had enough with you." Sanskar declared firmly and this was the moment he shot glares at everyone at the party. "It's high time I put a full stop on these rumours!"

No sooner everyone heard the last word from him, the entire crowd was stupefied. None of then saw this coming. Rajat smiled folding his arms as he'd finally come to realise that this was Sanskar's plan. As for Anushka and Swara, they were still trying to digest whatever was going on infront of them... especially Swara.

"But wait! Before I say anything to her," Sanskar turned to everyone else and began. "I want to ask you all that how can you believe in such rumours? And who even gave you all the right to talk about my personal life? Because let me tell you, a rumour doesn't begin with only one person spreading it around, there are many people involved in it. If one person hears something, he immediately goes and tells that to his mate. And then it keeps on going and going and later what? Everyone else believes in those lies! Is this what you all are here to do?"

No one was able to believe their ears. They didn't know what shocked them more -- the truth that all this while Kavita had been lying and showing off about her said marriage with him or Sanskar's current indifferent demeanor. This was the first time everyone was seeing a side of Sanskar that no one knew... his anger! No one knew that even Sanskar could get angry, even Swara. Even she couldn't believe it.

Sanskar took a deep breath and looked at Kavita as if he wished he'd buried her six feet underground already.

"What you all came to know about Kavita, it was she who'd started it. Well, I can expect such low life thing from her but from you all? Seriously? I didn't expect this from any of you." And once again, the attention was back on his juniors.

Kavita immediately composed herself to get back at him. "Sanskar, look I admit that I lied. But I know it Sanskar, that somewhere deep inside your heart even you have feelings for me!" She said exactly what would trigger Swara more but she still wasn't aware that by now Swara was staring fiercely at her. "Sanskar... admit it. Admit it that you like me. Admit it that you love me. You always had. You just didn't-"

"Ms Kavita Roy." Sanskar began bluntly. "I wish you get it straight in your head... that I. Don't. Love. You. Or even like for that matter. And stop being delusional because I know you are clearly not. You are just doing this to earn attention from everyone!" He implied.

"Okay, now I got it." Kavita's face hardened with anger as soon as her eyes landed on Swara, who was by now visibly taken aback by all these turns. "It's all because of her right? You are doing this for her. You are doing this because of her only and she has snatched you from me. I am not going to leave her!" And no sooner, Kavita marched fiercely towards Swara. "Isski toh mai-"

But before Kavita could do anything Sanskar marched towards them and stood besides Swara, directly preventing Kavita from doing anything irrational to her. She looked at Sanskar with widened eyes and Sanskar got hold of Swara's hand. Swara, who was too shocked to react, whatever Sanskar just did and Kavita's anger for her... it made her stand numb in her own place, yet that couldn't stop her from feeling Sanskar's warmth against her palm, that he was gripping by now.

"She didn't do anything Kavita." Sanskar made it clear to her. "To begin with, I never even had any kind of relation with you. I was never even interested in you, so how can you even imply that someone else 'snatched me away' from you?! Do you even realise what you are saying? I was never even 'yours' to begin with." He shaked his head in disbelief.

Sanskar left Swara's hand and walked closer to Kavita, leaving Swara to already miss his warmth against her hand. He went close enough towards her to see her enraged face and her glare towards him.

"There is one more thing I want to clear." Sanskar began and Kavita stared at him as if she wished she'd killed him already. "Do you even know that going around spreading false lies about you and your senior being in a relationship is a serious offense? Now I have finally understood, ki jo ladki kisi ko store room mein bandh kar sakti hai, jo apne or apne senior ke baare mein jhuthe upwaye phaila sakti hai, woh ladki kuch bhi kar sakti hai." He said in an intimidating manner. "Still, I forgot whatever you did with me but I can't forget whatever you did with her!"

"And who is she to you that you are defending her so much!" Kavita exclaimed loudly to him and Sanskar closed his eyes sighing deeply, and Swara's heart almost dropped down a mile while trying to see the meaning behind her words. "Who freaking is she? To you? That you worry so much about her? That you care so much about her? Is she your love? Your girlfriend? Your wife-"

"Whatever she is to me," Sanskar interrupted loudly. "I don't think that should matter to you." He completed his statement calmly. He knew he shouldn't stoop to her level and answer her back irrationally like she did. He needed to stay calm.

But if this girl crossed her limits, he promised everyone would see the worst of him.

"Last time Kavita." Sanskar raised his finger warning her. "This is the last time. Once again you do anything to Swara and I'll make sure that you have a tough time. From now on, if I ever see you anywhere near Swara, mind you, anywhere near her or saying or doing anything to her, no one will be worse than me. I hope you got it clear!"

Sanskar finally finished and Kavita looked severely offended. On the other hand, Swara couldn't notice anything else except for Sanskar's current words, not to mention the way he was holding her palm a few moments ago. Her eyes were no where else but only on Sanskar, not even Kavita or anyone or anything else. Only Sanskar.

By now, everyone seemed to had forgotten the party already because of the scene they just got to witness between a doctor and a student from senior batch. But more than that, no one was able to make even a single move. No one had any idea about what was going to happen next.

Sanskar took a deep breath and turned his gaze away from everyone, even from Kavita and even for Swara as well. To be frank, he wasn't the kind of person who got angry on someone. Anger and negativity had never been his things, even if he'd lived a tough life, a life without a mother by his side, a life with a father as stern as Ramprasad Maheshwari who'd never given any time for his son, a life with a family who believed that their reputation was everything they needed, not family or love.

But for now, either way, he really needed to calm his nerves down. He shot one last look to Kavita, before turning to look at Swara. But all he saw was her staring at him. Her expression seemed to be blended by various kinds of emotions... fright, helplessness, hope, disbelief... and seeing her that way, his anger immediately got melted.

He chose to take in a deep breath before turning to his senior batch. (Note : Kavita was in senior batch, and Swara and Anushka were in junior batch)

"Now you all can enjoy your party." Sanskar declared politely and everyone else looked on shocked. "And don't worry, I'm not going to give detention to anyone because of all this. I'm not so cruel. I'm letting all this go for now but please remember, keep your priorities first rather than getting fooled around by such people. Remember what you all have come here to do and please focus on that rather than focusing on my personal life or someone else's life. Please don't let this happen ever again."

"We are sorry, Dr Sanskar." One boy named Ritesh stepped forward and told. "We won't let this happen again."

"It's okay." Sanskar replied. "And I'm leaving now. It's quite late. So you all enjoy but please make sure to be on time tomorrow no matter how long your party will go on. And... last but not the least."

Sanskar paused and turned towards Kavita, who looked furious by now. He gave her a burning look, while Swara shot him a confused look.

"Since you have been so incredibly awesome in your academics all this while, I have thought of doing a little something." Sanskar smirked sarcastically and Kavita furrowed her eyebrows.

"From tomorrow, I'm going to extend your duties." He dropped the bomb.

Kavita snapped her head towards him in shock but even that couldn't stop Sanskar from dropping further bombs. "Unless and until you don't improve in your academics, you'll be having extra duties to do and I'm going to make sure of that. From now on I'll be monitoring all your activities of the day as well as record them and report them to your father. I guess it's a good way to make you improve yourself." Sanskar finally sealed the conversation with his intimidating tone and his smirk playing on his lips. Rajat almost laughed and Anushka smiled winningly hearing all this. As for Swara, she still looked on in disbelief. And by now, Kavita's expression looked like she was all set to strangle him with her merciless hands.

"You can't do this with me Sanskar!" Kavita yelled.

"Of course I can, I have every right to." Sanskar reprimanded. "Because for what you have done, there is no forgiveness. It will be much better if you start working harder from now itself, Kavita. Not for yourself but atleast think about your father! Respect his wishes for you and do something fruitful rather than doing these cheap things. And Swara!"

Swara shaked her head almost stopping herself from chuckling but Sanskar's sudden voice tingled all her senses. "Yes, what?"

Sanskar smiled and secretly gave her a wink, which Swara finally caught.

"From now on Kavita is your responsibility." He declared and Swara's eyes widened in shock, as well as Kavita's. "It doesn't matter if she is your senior, you are one of the brightest interns of this hospital and that is why I'm giving this work to you. From now on Kavita will work under your wing." He told her. "And she will have to listen to everything you will tell her. But don't worry, you won't be held responsible if she still doesn't improve in her grades, her father will already do all the honours. Your only work is to keep Kavita engaged in duties. In other words, you are her head, and she has to listen to you."

"Okay Sanskar, I will." Swara nodded her head, finally agreeing to Sanskar's conditions.

'What the effing hell?!' Kavita wanted to voice out but felt her own larynx betraying her. "So now this little twerp is going to boss me around?! This is insane!"

"So I am going. Have a good night everyone." Sanskar, finally completing, turned around to leave and a part of him was already aware that even Swara wouldn't stay there now. And his feeling came true!

"I'm also going." Swara said bluntly as Kavita looked like she was just slapped. "Trust me Kavita, even I wasn't interested in this godforsaken party. I would rather go and marry my books." Her voice was slightly dipped with sarcasm.

"And well, if our best friends are leaving, then how can we stay here? Hum toh waisebhi yaha rehne mein interested hai hi nahi." Anushka perked up and Rajat, just like her twin soul, agreed.

"Don't mess with me Swara!" Kavita warned her.

"Exactly!" Swara said angrily. "Don't you dare mess with me, Kavita, because I do know for sure how to reply people like you back in your own language. So just, stay away!"

And for the first time in a while it was Swara who was very angry. She'd had enough.

And with the final warning, Swara left the place immediately, with Anushka and Rajat following him, and Swara going with Sanskar. Once they all left the place, it took a moment for everybody else to recollect what just happened and that how much low the senior intern could stoop.

Kavita shut her hand making a fist and looked on furiously, fuming internally. Tanya suddenly came up to her to calm her down.

"Kavi, yaar, just calm down."

"How am I supposed to calm down Tanya?" Kavita shouted. "That Swara... that... she... and Sanskar. Do hell with both of them! I won't leave them!"

"I know, Kavi, but for now you please calm down." Tanya tried her luck. "Don't forget the party is still going on. Just, don't get upset, please. Leave it na Kavita. Come, let's have fun. Let's go and have a drink there."

They made their way towards the drink counter, with Tanya pulling her forcefully and Kavita giving up. She glared at Tanya after she ordered two glasses of drinks for them, and after having nearly two sips of cup, Tanya spoke up. "So now?"

"So what?" Kavita looked at her after finishing her glass.

"What are you going to do about it? I mean... about the whole Sanskar-Swara fiasco. Or are you even going to do something?"

"No Tanya, not right now."

"What?!" Tanya exclaimed. You're kidding, right? You are actually giving up!" Her dumb brain concluded infuriating Kavita even more than she already was.

"ARGH!" Kavita yelled. "Sometimes I seriously feel like kicking your dumb ass to make your brain work." Tanya glared at her getting triggered by her words. "I never said that I'm giving up. But frankly speaking, now isn't the time for me. Listen, right now I am not planning to do anything. I have to concentrate on my work. Do you even know what Sanskar just said right now? He said he is going to report all my activities of the day to my father and I'm screwed!"

"Oh, yeah!" Tanya remembered, suddenly becoming alert. "Then?"

"So right now, I mean right after this party, I have to go back to hostel and study and keep this stuff aside for some time." Kavita made a worried face. "Hell, no matter what I don't want anything to go wrong this time or papa will throw me out of the house. He already taunts me everytime about how I don't do anything good in my life."

Tanya let out a low laugh hearing her words but immediately shut her mouth for good as Kavita shooted her a murderous glare.

"Swara..." Anushka called out to her as she held Rajat's hand, and Swara turned to look at her. "You go ahead, me and Rajat will come in a while."

Sanskar stopped walking and smiled looking at them. "Obviously, now you guys have a lot of talking to do with each other, because now you have finally admitted that you love each other." He teased them and Swara chuckled to herself. "And do come soon once you are done with your... whatever you are going to do!" Hearing Sanskar, heat spreaded across Anushka's cheeks.

"Dude!" Rajat rolled his eyes shyly. "Come on, let me. Now don't be a romance buster!"

"Rajat!" Anushka hit him in horror as she heard his words making all three laugh.

"Okay okay!" Rajat chortled surrendering to her and Swara smiled looking at them, and agreed with Anushka. "Okay Anushka, I'm going. But please be sure to come soon."

"Soon!" Anushka caught Swara's word and soon enough she went away with Rajat. Swara smiled wondering how her best friend finally got her long-time crush, her love in her life. And Sanskar was happy seeing Rajat too.

Now it was for Sanskar and Swara to turn to look at each other and smile.

"Come, let's go." Sanskar swayed his arms indicating for them to get going, and Swara smiled complying.

They walked downstairs having each other alongside themselves. They didn't talk, though, their own minds were preoccupied about whatever good and bad just happened at the party back there. While Sanskar looked completely satisfied by whatever happened, Swara was smiling to herself.

"You know..." Swara began, and while walking Sanskar looked at her attentively. "Anushka has had a crush on Rajat since a very long time. They both have been best friends but she never admitted her feelings to him, thinking that it might make things awkward between them and in their friendship. But now that Rajat has also confessed his feelings for her, I'm so happy to see both of them making it."

Sanskar smiled shaking his head and Swara finally turned to look at him.

"I'm happy for both of them too." Sanskar admitted. "Even Rajat had crush on her but he never admitted them infront of her because of the same reason. But now I'm happy they are finally together."

"Yes." Swara replied. "It's so cute to see them together."

"If two people are meant to be together then they will always be together no matter what." Sanskar smiled telling her, his eyes displaying an unknown emotion that Swara couldn't decipher at the moment, but she still smiled in amusement listening to him. "I have always known ki iss duniya mein har koi kisi na kisi keliye bana hota hi hai. If two people are meant to be with each other, then destiny will do everything in it's power to get them together. And no power in this world can stop them if they are meant to be together. Fate... it can surely be unpredictable. You never know what's there in store for you... unless you realise it yourself."

Swara smiled hearing Sanskar's thoughts, her inner self adoring him already.

They finally caught an elevator to get down to the ground and for them to go back to their homes. Swara felt something inside her stirring in giddiness as she still couldn't believe Sanskar was there besides her only all this while, and she couldn't help but let her heart beat erratically with his presence around her.

But... even that couldn't stop her from calling out to him, as soon as they got out of the elevator after a peaceful ride. "Sanskar?"

"Haan?" He looked at her.

"Can I ask you something? If you don't mind." Swara asked him with hopeful eyes.

"Sure, anything." Sanskar smiled shrugging.

"Who was the girl you were... singing song for?" She asked him with a kind of hesitance that could be felt in her tone. But as for Swara, she didn't know why but she really wanted to know it.

Sanskar probably realised the same thing, because he just smiled.

"You will come to know that soon." He assured her and that tingled Swara's all senses. Why did it feel like it was all for her? "By the way, let me accompany you to your hostel. It's late night and-"

"What? No!" Swara said immediately. "There is no need for that. I'll go by myself. And the hostel is just behind the hospital building only."

"But Swara... it's midnight and it's not safe to go alone." Sanskar told her with concern.

"But I'll be fine Sanskar, really."

"Are you sure you'll be fine?"

"Yes, I am sure. I can go by myself."

"Okay, then." Sanskar licked his lips nervously and at last shaked his head for approval. Smiling towards him, she turned to leave towards the hostel, and he turned to leave the place.

"Swara!" He suddenly called her, remembering something.

"Hm?" She looked at him.

"Good night." Sanskar wished her smiling.

"Good night." She replied smiling too.

And those were their last words to each other for that day, before they turned to leave towards opposite directions, but their minds still preoccupied by each other's thoughts only.

Sanskar thinking about Swara, and... Swara thinking about Sanskar too.

~*~*~*~*~*~*

At night, 3 am...

Swara had decided to stay awake to study, she usually did during weekends. She utilised her weekend nights in studies and to prepare herself for the next day. But today... well... staying awake to study was just an excuse. The truth was, she wasn't really able to sleep today. And that's why she chose to keep her thick neuroscience book open on her desk, infront of her, and sit on the chair, drilling her eyes into the text on her book that was suddenly making no sense to her at all, for her mind was drowned in some other things.

Swara's mind was preoccupied by Sanskar and when she realised it, her eyes weren't even on the book anymore... she held her head on her palm as her elbow rested on the desk, her mind travelling back to Sanskar. A small yet beautiful smile lingered on Swara's lips as she couldn't help but feel swayed by everything he did... right from he standing up for her against Kavita to he taking care of her in those days when her mother was fighting for her life. For Swara, those were just some things she could never forget. Her eyes watered slightly when her mind went back to the events that took place today.

'Who is she to you?' She remembered Kavita shouting at Sanskar. 'That you worry so much about her? That you care so much about her? Is she your love? Your girlfriend? Your wife?'

'Whatever she is to me!' She remembered Sanskar replying back, defending her. 'I don't think that should matter to you.'

The way he always looked at her, stared at her, she felt like losing herself in his gaze.

'You do anything to Swara and I'll make sure that you have a tough time.' She remembered Sanskar warning Kavita for her. 'From now on, if I ever see you anywhere near Swara, no one will be worse than me.'

Even before Swara Bose could realise, she was losing herself. She was losing her heart... and Sanskar Maheshwari was winning it. She felt as if her heart was no longer under her control.

The way he was standing by her side, gripping her hand against his, she felt so protected, something she'd never felt before. She had a feeling tugging at her heart that she'd never felt before.

All their moments from the start started flashing infront of her eyes -- Swara's first day in the hospital. When she was about to fall off the stairs, she'd fallen on Sanskar's arms and he'd saved her from falling by holding her on time. His prank on her in which he'd punished her for no reason, and though it had annoyed her to extremes, she still couldn't be angry on him because of his goodness towards her. The time when she'd hurt herself in the operation theatre, and he'd bandaged her palm with care. And she couldn't forget that intensity in his gaze towards her.

She remembered how she broke down in his arms for the first time in a while in her life and cried for her mother, subconsciously blurting out all her pain that she'd endeavoured in her heart since she knew. No matter what she still couldn't forget that warmth that she had in his embrace. His soothing words, his supportiveness...

Main tenu samjhawan ki
Na tere bina lagda jee

Main tenu samjhawan ki
Na tere bina lagda jee

Tu ki jaane pyaar mera
Main karoon intezaar tera

Tu dil tui-yon jaan meri
Jaan meri
Jaan meri...

Whenever Sanskar never talked, his eyes always did. She didn't know why but she could feel love in his eyes for her. To anyone else, they were just simple brown eyes but for her, it was an emotion. Mirror to his heart that screamed that he too felt for her... the same way she felt for him. No one else made her feel the way he made her feel just by his mere presence. Only he had the power to stir the strings of her heart. She remembered him singing song for her and with each and every word that'd escaped his lips, she felt as if they were meant only for her. His words reached her heart even without her approval and this tingling feeling kept lingering in her heart as she remembered his beautiful voice. His voice... they held a magic. It had a kind of intensity that she could feel too.

Day by day, she was losing self-control and drowning herself more in him...

"Swara!"

This was the second time Anushka snapped her fingers infront of Swara's eyes but even that couldn't knock her out of her senses.

"Swara!!!"

This time she snapped her fingers infront of Swara more harshly. And Swara's senses finally tingled as she was brought back to the world. "Huh... ugh... what?!"

And that's was when she looked up only to find Anushka staring at her with a skeptical look.

"You're daydreaming." Anushka said in disbelief. "This is so not you."

"I-I am not daydreaming!" Swara said in her defence. "I was... ugh... studying only."

"Really?" Anushka raised an eyebrow and then she decided to test her. "Okay, then. So, Swara! Tell me, what is the neurotransmitter that is released from parasympathetic nervous system?"

"Ugh... umm... wait. Let me recall." Swara took five to ten seconds to recall but couldn't remember. "Sorry, I... don't know!" She admitted apologetically making Anushka palm her forehead in regret.

"Acetylcholine, Swara. Acetylcholine!" Anushka yelled for the umpteenth time. "It is the chief neurotransmitter of parasympathetic nervous system that contracts smooth muscles, dilates blood vessels, increases bodily secretions, and slows heart rate. Seriously Swara, where are you lost? I made you memorise this so many times and you still don't remember it."

"Sorry!" Swara apologised cutely and Anushka rolled her eyes. Yeah, right. There was no way she could get annoyed at her if she gave her that look.

'Ugh! Swara, what the hell is wrong with you?!' Swara's mind chanted and she shaked her head to clear this thought in her mind.

"Swara," Anushka looked at her furrowing her eyebrows. "Are you okay?"

"What?!" Swara turned her head towards her in shock. "Of-of course... I'm okay. What will happen to me?" She chuckled in embarrassment.

"Sure?" Anushka asked her again.

"Yes Anushka, sure."

"Then... what have you written here?"

Swara frowned on hearing Anushka but when she saw her eyes gazing on something on her desk, she too looked down to see... only to receive the shock that knocked her breath out. This was the first time she wasn't concentrating on her studies!

Swara fumbled with words and she couldn't come up with any kind of explanation for this.

"What is this 'S' that you have drawn on your book? Swara, we have been best friends for such a long time but you never told me that you like doodling!" Anushka commented teasingly pointing towards the small 'S' letter that Swara had carved with her black gel pen. Realisation dawned on Swara's facial features and she immediately averted her gaze, shaking her head and letting out a nervous chuckle.

"Oh... t-this! Ugh, it's nothing. Woh... ugh..." she thought of something and soon an explanation hit her brain. "Haan! I was... I was doodling only. I suddenly felt like doing."

"On your book?" Anushka chuckled in disbelief.

"I like doodling, just like you said." Swara said in her defence and Anushka folded her arms nodding her head, as if she finally understood everything. Which she did.

Well, Swara not being able to remember a concept despite of how many times she made her memorize it, and now her weird behavior ever since they returned from the party, and then this doodling in which she had carved an 'S' -- this'd got to mean only one thing. Swara's mind was preoccupied by Sanskar.

"Oh, I see." She smiled commenting knowingly. "But if I may ask, what does this 'S' stand for?" She teased her a little bit and Swara widened her eyes in shock. "S for... by any chance, does this S stand for Sans-"

"NO, it doesn't!" Swara interrupted even before Anushka could utter Sanskar's name fully. "This... S stands for my name! Swara! Okay? Not... Sanskar."

"Are you sure?" Anushka teased her and Swara huffed.

"Yes, I am. Now can you please leave me alone so that I can study properly?"

"Leave you alone to think about Sanskar? Yeah, sure. That too by all means!" Anushka winked.

"Why don't you go back to your 'Rajat wonderland' instead of interfering into my study hour?" Swara snapped but somehow, her cheeks still looked red.

"Well... atleast I don't blush like a teenager thinking about the love of my life." Anushka shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly and Swara exhaled sharply to control her heart from beating so erratically.

"Anushka, are you sure you don't need me to kick you out or are you okay leaving on your own?"

"No!" Anushka replied. "I'm definitely good leaving on my own. Well, wish you a good night and all the very best!"

That was the last thing she said before leaving the room in laughter, leaving Swara in peace.

"Ugh!" Swara groaned in frustration. "Focus Swara, focus! Don't think about anything. Just think about your studies. Just. Focus."

'Keep telling yourself that!' Her mind chanted to her.

"Shut up!" She scolded her inner self not caring about how stupid it might look. What on earth was wrong with her!

This night was definitely going to be one hell of a time for her!

~*~*~*~*~*~*

Next day...

Kavita was seen sitting on the main couch of the hospital hall, probably doing something that she shouldn't be doing at this time. Sprawling on the sofa, she looked more interested in applying nail polish on her fingernails.

As soon as Swara was getting into her duties, she stopped only to see her and no sooner she saw Kavita carefreely sitting on the sofa, probably enjoying self-time, her mind flashed back to what Sanskar had told her.

'From now on Kavita will work under your wing. And she will have to listen to everything you will tell her. Your only work is to keep Kavita engaged in duties. In other words, you are her head, and she has to listen to you.'

Before Swara knew, she walked up towards Kavita, standing near her. "Dr Kavita, what are you doing here?"

Kavita looked up only to find Swara glaring at her but did she care? No.

"Do you have a poor vision?" Kavita asked mockingly. "Can't you see I'm busy painting my nails?"

"Yeah, I can see that very clearly." Swara replied her back in her accent. "But this isn't what you are supposed to do here loitering around."

"Mere papa iss hospital ke chairman hai!" Kavita said. "I can do whatever I want wherever I want. You are no one to tell me what to do."

"Really?" Swara smirked. "Alright then, let me inform Sanskar that despite his warnings, this is what you are doing-"

"NO! Wait, you can't!" Kavita jumped up as soon as she heard her words, resulting the nail polish bottle to fall down, making it's contents spill over the floor, and the sight made Kavita curse herself. Whereas on the other hand, Swara seemed to be enjoying Kavita's misery a lot but still maintained her stern demeanor.

"Tch. Tch. Tch." Swara feigned having pity on the poor nail polish bottle and Kavita gave her the deadliest glare ever possible. "Poor one. This beautiful bottle had to suffer because of you."

"Just get out of my sight Swara!" Kavita threatened her, and as much as Swara would have loved to slap her right now, she knew this wasn't the right time to punish her for her past deeds. So, Swara just shrugged nonchalantly and went away from there, leaving Kavita fuming more than ever.

~*~*~*~*~*~*

Two hours later...

Swara was going to the record room to look for some files that a senior doctor had asked her to bring. It took some time for her to find the room in this huge hospital, and atlast being successful, she mentally praised herself and got inside.

The record room was a bit dark, so Swara literally had to switch on the flashlight of her smartphone to read the file names clearly. There were huge bookshelves, so she started inspecting the first one, looking after every book, every file, looking at every nook and corner to find the file she wanted.

"One of the toughest tasks ever... to find files." Swara mumbled to herself.

"Swara?"

Swara suddenly froze in her place on hearing her name coming from the voice that was very familiar to her, the voice that had slowly begun to set her entire being off by the intensity in which her name rolled down his tongue.

The voice of the man she'd slowly begun to fall for.

"Is it Sanskar?!" She thought to herself. She turned her head around but could hardly see him or anyone else in particular in the wide room. "But I can't see him anywhere!"

Hitting her forehead once, she began her search again. She didn't know what was happening to her since last night. Maybe she was eating something wrong these days.

"Swara!" She heard the same voice calling out to her again.

"Sanskar? No." Swara convinced herself. "It can't be him. I can't see anyone else here."

"Swara, it's me, Sanskar."

"No. No. I must be going crazy. I'm hearing things now. Must be my imagination." Swara shaked her head trying to wipe Sanskar off her mind.

"She thinks she is imagining me?!" Sanskar thought to himself in amusement. He was standing behind the second bookshelf, so he was totally invisible for Swara. But Sanskar could watch her through the distance between the two adjacent books on the shelf.

He suddenly decided to play along.

"Yes Swara." Sanskar smiled naughtily. "I am your imagination only!" He chuckled watching Swara's expressions that were ranging from disbelief to... horrified.

"B-But how can I imagine you like this! I wasn't even thinking about you!" She lied aloud.

"Swara, we get imaginations only when we are thinking about something or someone. Right now you are thinking about me and that is why you are imagining me." Sanskar enjoyed her confusion way too much. She was too adorable.

"No. I can't believe it." Swara furrowed her eyebrows frowning.

"But you need to." Sanskar smiled and suddenly shouted. "Swara, COCKROACH!"

"AAAHHH!!!" Swara shouted loudly jumping back in fear and stepped to get out of the place as soon as possible. But, Sanskar suddenly walked away from the bookshelf to appear infront of Swara -- only for him, and for her also, to realise that this wasn't going to end well. Swara who was running suddenly bumped into Sanskar and that was the last thing both of them remembered before Sanskar lost his balance, leading into Swara putting all her weight unintentionally on him, resulting in both of them to slip and fall down on the ground in a thump with both of them involuntarily gripping each other, with Sanskar's back against the ground and Swara above him in a rather very awkward position, and their poor foreheads hitting each other in a merciless way.

'Holy shit!' They both cursed in their own minds.

'Way to go Sanskar, shouldn't have scared her like that.' All that Sanskar's mind could chant.

Swara's eyes were shut tight, as if opening them would lead her into seeing something scary. Her hands were gripping his t-shirt underneath his blue blazer, and while Sanskar winced a bit on feeling all the weight on him, he opened his eyes only to receive the shock that she was right above him...

But what caught his eyes were... the way her hairs covered her face to prevent him from seeing her fully, he could still see the fear flashed across her expressions, a feel as if she had to be anywhere but here.

"San... Sanskar... Tum... mere upar ho."

Her stammering voice brought him out of his senses, leading Sanskar to realise that he wasn't the one above her, but she was above him. The realisation made him chuckle a bit, seeing how Swara was struggling with herself to open her eyes. The way those words rolled down her tongue in fear, he was adoring her even more. She was so fragile, so light to him and that was one of the reasons he wasn't feeling any kind of pressure on him.

"Swara..." Sanskar called out to Swara in amusement. "Actually mai nahi, par tum mere upar ho or mai tumhare nichhe."

"W-What..." Swara uttered in shock. "I-I'm so-sorry! I didn't mean to-"

"Swara, relax! It's okay!" Sanskar comforted her, as he lifted his hand to tuck her hairs behind her ear, making Swara feel shivers running down her spine. Right now, all she could feel was his hot breath over her skin, and his eyes on her, swooshing all her senses off her mind already.

Sanskar held Swara's hand freeing himself from her involuntary grip, pushing himself upwards and helped Swara stand up. They both finally managed to get up and stood awkwardly in their own places, with Sanskar adjusting his now-creased blazer, and Swara setting her doctor's coat on properly.

"Huh! We are okay." Sanskar sighed.

And with that came a punch flying right to his arm.

"Aaahhh!" Sanskar winced in pain. "Swara, that's my arm, not your punching bag."

"You deserve it!" Swara chided. "Aise kon darata hai? Do you even know how scared I am of cockroaches?"

"And do you know how I felt when you thought that you were imagining me?!" Sanskar asked her back. "Seriously Swara?"

"Haan toh what's my fault in that?" Swara asked him. "I couldn't see you anywhere and I didn't know you were there in the room."

"I was in the room because I was doing some work. So as soon as I heard your voice, I knew that you were here. I was on the other side of the bookshelf then." Sanskar said smiling.

"Shut up Sanskar." Swara said in frustration. "You're already messing up with my mind since yesterday and now you are doing all this-"

She stopped as soon as she just realised what she blurted out. Oops!Whereas on the other hand, Sanskar seemed to be taking note of it, his expression turned into a kind of surprise.

A smile made it's way to Sanskar's lips and Swara could feel her knees weak. What was it about his smile that set her off to this extent?

"I know he can be charming at times, but why does it affect me? How can his presence affect me like this?" Swara thought in her own mind.

"Did you just say something?" Sanskar asked her, lifting a foot towards her.

"N-No! I didn't... say anything." Swara somehow managed to speak out, and stepped a foot back. Sanskar smiled meaningfully noticing her hesitance, and her milky cheeks that were already seemed to be flushing.

"You just said that I am messing with your mind since yesterday." Sanskar recalled from her words, and took a step closer towards her and Swara stepped back again.

"I didn't-" Swara sucked in a deep breath to slow her heart down. She was feeling her entire being being shaken as he was taking his steps towards her. "Sanskar... w-what are you doing?" She asked almost as if in desperation.

"Why are you going back Swara?"

"Because you are coming closer to me." Swara blurted out in nervousness. Sometimes she wondered why did God make her an open book!

"But I was just-" Sanskar was going to speak but Swara cut him off.

"Sanskar, I..." Swara uttered breathlessly. Somehow, she turned past him to leave the place.

"Wait!" Sanskar stopped her.

Swara who was almost running to leave, stopped dead in her place after hearing his voice. She closed her eyes tightly, as if trying to get her fast breathing slow down. Then she opened her eyes, turning to look at him.

"What?"

Sanskar smiled folding his arms. "Not much. But you know... you look cute when you blush." He complimented.

Swara almost gaped and touched her cheeks, almost rubbing them as if that would make her know that they were red. The sight just made Sanskar smile.

"I'm not blushing!" She tucked her strands of hair behind.

And without any further word, she just ran and left the room, trying not to feel affected by anything that just happened. Whether it was her closeness with Sanskar, whether the way she just fell on him, whether it was the feeling of his touch across her hairs when he was tucking them behind her ear... she shaked all of it away from her mind and tried to calm down her rapidly-beating heart.

This time though, Sanskar didn't stop her from leaving. Rather he just stood in his place, smiling to himself in satisfaction.

Whether Swara admitted it or not, Sanskar knew she'd finally begun developing feelings for him. And honestly, he couldn't be happier.

Meanwhile, outside the hospital building...

A silver mercedes car was seen making it's way towards the entrance of Kolkata College And Hospital, and just the sight of the familiar car made the watchmen aware of the arrival of someone very important in their hospital. The watchmen opened the gate to allow the car in, and also bowed their heads down a little as a token of respect for the person who was sitting inside the car.

The car stopped at a place, and it was soon surrounded by many sub-ordinates who were hastily making their way to open the door for the passenger in the car to get out. As the car was opened by one of the people, the person finally stepped out of the car.

The person was revealed to be a lady, who was somewhere in her middle age. She was wearing a traditional marwadi saree that would already speak a lot about her posh background. But something about her appearance gave off the vibe that she wasn't just any ordinary person, rather a woman who held the power of ruling this entire hospital... in a good way, obviously, but she still did.

"Welcome, ma'am!" One of the subordinates welcomed the lady. "Please, ma'am come with us. By the way, where were you all these days?"

The subordinates accompanied the lady towards the entrance of the hospital as the lady walked on, after giving a professional smile to everyone who greeted her. She stopped when she was standing in the centre of the main lobby of the hospital.

"It has been a while since you've showed up, ma'am." A nurse came up to her and greeted her. "We were thinking where you were all this time."

The lady gave them a stern smile, not choosing to answer any of their questions and chose to know about what she wanted instead.

"I have come here to meet my husband." The elderly, authoritative lady revealed the nurse. "I was in London with my elder son so I actually didn't get time to show up. But now that I am back after a long time, it will be good to meet my family again. So, where is Dr Durgaprasad?"

"Durgaprasad sir is in the cabin, ma'am." The nurse answered her. "I'll inform him that you have come."

The nurse was turning to leave for his cabin but stopped as soon as her eyes fell somewhere... on someone. She saw Durgaprasad, who was standing with a shocked face as soon as he saw the lady...

"Annapurna!"

Precap :- What do you think about AP? Note : She'll be playing a role in SwaSan's love story but what do you think, is she going to be positive or negative?
And Journey to Medical Camp... (sorry to delay this so much)

IMPORTANT NOTE :- Sanskar was always mentioned as a Neurologist in this story, guys, but now I'm changing him into a Cardiologist in this story. Mostly because I think Cardiologist is more convenient with the way I have portrayed his character... 'dil se kaam lene wala'. And mostly because I feel the story is about two 'HEARTS', that is why I think it's more convenient. 😅 So guys, don't get confused because from now on Sanskar is a Cardiologist in this story, not Neurologist.

How many of you are willing to bet that our Swara is finally falling in love with our Sanskar? Next chapter coming soon.

If you think this chapter is worth your vote, please do hit the button and make me aware of your presence ❤
