In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

‘Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s), his blessed descendents and noble companions.’

                                                                      Aameen.

Salat-uI-Hajah (Prayer in Time of Want)

Salat al-Hajat ( hajah) is simply to ask Allah SWT to help you with some pressing need. It’s not about making choices or decisions. It is only to ask for Allah Jalle Jalaluhu’s assistance when in time of hardships and need.

Imam Ahmad has on sound authority reported from Abu Darda that the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam said:

"He who makes Wudu, and does it properly, then prays two rak’at, Allah will grant him whatever he may pray for, sooner or later."

The hadith that related to this prayer is:

Hadrat Abdullah bin Abu Awfa (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Holy Prophet (SAW) said:

“If anyone wants something from Allah or from a human being (i.e. irrespective of whether the need that is sought is one direct from Allah without having any connection with mankind or apparently relating to a human being), he should perform ablution and let him make it well. Then he should offer 2 rak'ats of Nafl prayer, glorify Allah and recite

Durood on the Rasool of Allah (SAW) and thereafter supplicate in the following words:

La llaha Illallahul Halimul-Karimu Subhanallahi Rabbil

‘Arshil ‘Azim. Alhamdu-lillahi Rabbil-‘Alameena Allahumma

Inni As‘aluka Moojibaati Rahmatika Wa ‘Azaa’ima

Maghfiratika Wal-ghaneemata Min Kulli Birrin Was-salaamata

Min Kulli Is(th)min As‘aluka Al-laa tada’Lii z(dh)amban Illa

Ghafartahu Wa Laa Hamman Illa Farrajtahu Wa Laa Haajatan

Hiya Laka Riz(d)an Illa Qadaitahaa Lii Yaa Arhamar Raahimeen.

“There is no God but Allah, the Clement and Generous, Glory be to Allah the Sustainer of the mighty throne. Praise be to Allah, the Sustainer of the Universe. I ask You (for words) which will guarantee Your mercy, actions which will make certain Your forgiveness, a supply of every virtue and freedom from every offence. Do not leave a sin of mine which You do not pardon, a care (worry) which You do not remove, or a want (need) that meets Your pleasure which You do not fulfill for me O Most Merciful.”

-[Related by Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah]

ALLAH SHALL THEN EASE WHATEVER DIFFICULTIES A PERSON EXPERIENCES!

The inward manners of supplication is exhibiting our neediness and absolute slave hood to Allah, consigning one’s matters to Allah, and knowing that the only one who gives or benefits is Allah Most High. With this, one should be certain that Allah Most High answers our Duas, but in the way He knows is best for us. One can perform this prayer at any permissible time of Salah just as they would pray 2 rak ‘at nafils.

A/N :)

Hope this was beneficial Insha Allah, and when you ask those special Duas, please remember this Gudi too ;)) Jazak Allahu Khairan!

With Duas and Salaam (Prayers and Peace),

                     abdurRahman (Gudi:))
