Oakpaw sat still, frozen. "They- they, they, went off, to-" Oakpaw stopped. He couldn't finish. "What is it?" Mouse whisker prodded his paw. "They, went after you guys, to, help." He murmured, backing away and running into the apprentices den. "Sunpaw! Wake up!" He hissed into his ear. Sunpaw got up immediately, starting to clean his fur.

"Not now, fur ball. Come here." Oakpaw backed out of the den, a sleepy Sunpaw following. "What is it?" Sunpaw snapped. "You said I could sleep, Oakstar." Sunpaw muttered. Oakpaw rolled his eyes at his brother's retort.

"Stay here, and guard the nursery." He ordered his brother. Sunpaw's green gaze that copied their mother's flicked with question. "Why? Is ShadowClan invading or something?" Sunpaw flicked his tail to the huddling group of Thornclaw, Birchfall, and his mentor.

"No, worse." Thornclaw meowed. "Tell him, Mousewhisker."  Thornclaw snorted.

Mousewhisker rolled his eyes. "Wait, tell him?" Oakpaw glanced at Thornclaw with panic. Thornclaw dipped his head. "He needs to know." Birchfall agreed. Mousewhisker gave Oakpaw a confident glance. Sunpaw just looked at all of them with insane expressions. "Oakpaw can tell him. He'll believe him more than me."

"Tell me what?" Sunpaw lightly hissed. Dawnstep and Crowflight had reached the group of toms. "What's going on?" Crowflight meowed, his black, lithe body shining in the moonlight that was slowly catching through the trees.

"I don't even know!" Sunpaw muttered crossly.

Oakpaw sighed. "Nothing." Birchfall meowed. "Did I mention that you two should be helping Jayfeather sort herbs?" Thornclaw muttered. The two newer warriors were taken aback, but did as told.

"We all train with The Dark Forest, and right now Hawkfrost is coming to kill you, but after I sent Volefur and Violetpaw to help Mousewhisker, Birchfall and Thornclaw chase him away, they haven't come back yet, and I think that Hawkfrost might kill them." Oakpaw sputtered.

Sunpaw just stared in astonishment. "Wait- you mean to tell me that Hawkfrost -a cat that is dead- is trying to kill me?" Sunpaw meowed with disbelief.
Oakpaw slowly nodded.

Does this mean he understands?

"Are you joking with me?" Sunpaw muttered. Thornclaw stepped forward nose to nose with the apprentice.

"If it was fake, I wouldn't be here." Thornclaw breathed. Sunpaw staggered back, away from the huge, intimidating warrior.                                                                                                                                                                   For a moment Oakpaw thought he saw a glimmer of amusement in Thornclaw's eyes.

Liontail's P.O.V.

She padded through the herd of cats to join her mate. "It's beautiful out tonight." She purred. The moon was at its highest peak. Stormheart gazed at her with plain affection. "It is, my sweet." He murmured, her muzzling his chest fur. "Come on, you two! It's a gathering, not a love fest!" Squirrelflight called. Liontail rolled her eyes.

Stormheart gazed around. His thick fur was smooth and soft. "Fine, but you and Brambleclaw need to stop drooling over each other all the time." She replied. The ginger she cat flicked her white paw. "Drool? Look at you!" She scoffed playfully. Stormheart towered about Liontail.

"So glad I don't have siblings in my clan." Stormheart muttered sarcastically, staring at the stars. Liontail knew that was a lie. She knew Stormheart would gladly have Ripplepaw, Stormfur, and Feathertail in his clan. But he always thought of the positive things, like meeting her and having her kits.

She flicked her tail. "You still have Graystripe, not to mention Bumblestripe, Blossomfall and Briarlight." Stormheart nodded. "It seems like they don't know I exist." He murmured.

"Do you know when Firestar's going to make Oakpaw, Stormpaw, and Sunpaw warriors?" He asked, changing the subject. "No idea. He hasn't said anything." She meowed. They sat close together, murmuring. "Hey, long time no see!" A familiar tawny looking figure appeared, running up to greet her with another tom.

"Tawnypelt!" She meowed warmly. "How come you weren't at the last gathering?" She asked, muzzling her old friend. The two had gotten quite close over time. Even though Squirrelflight knew her better, Liontail still talked to her more. "Blackstar had me on midnight patrol." Tawnypelt responded and Rowanclaw snorted.

"Yeah, only because he knew a mad she cat could track out any RiverClan fish faces." He rolled his eyes and Stormheart turned away. Rowanclaw seemed to remember Stormheart's heritage and stopped laughing. Tawnypelt nudged him. "Oops." The ShadowClan deputy muttered. Stormheart turned back around. "I'm a ThunderClan cat. I'm not offended."

Rowanclaw left with Tawnypelt. They started gathering with their clanmates. "ThunderClan, we're leaving!" Firestar howled.

Merry Christmas! (Or any holiday like Hanukkah or Kwanzaa) Hope you enjoy the update!!!
