Mario's Day

One very bright, very early morning , Mario woke up, refreshed. His custom was to sleep totally dressed, without even taking off his shoes. Luigi, though, preferred to take his shoes and cap off, because everyone knew what his socks looked like. Mario, though, wanted to keep his socks a mystery.

He was in a small mushroom house with two rooms. One was like a bedroom/living room. The other was a kitchen. Why he was sleeping in this little fungus was unknown, but Luigi, Peach, and Daisy were also living in it. Mario and Luigi slept on a bunk bed. Peach slept on one of those cushiony chairs that rock and have a built in footrest that you can extend and retract. Daisy slept sideways on a normal chair. For an odd reason, none of them really lived in wealth. They just wanted some quiet privacy. So they all slept under some plain, brown, blankets.

Anyway, like I was saying at the beginning of this story, it was morning. Mario hopped down from the bunk (he was on top). There was a blazing fire in the fireplace and the whole mushroom was warm. Mario went into the tiny kitchen and ate some Donkey Kong cereal. When he came back into the living room Yoshi was snoozing in front of the fireplace.

"What are you doing here?" Mario said far too loudly.

Luigi stirred, but he loved sleeping and thus didn't wake. However, Peach and Daisy did. They saw Yoshi and Mario standing there. They were too tired though and collapsed back to sleep. Yoshi looked at Mario, squinted, and left.

"Gees." Mario said quietly. He sat down with a guitar and played it. "Yoshis are better than people," he sang. "What's the point of even singing this without Yoshi?" he asked himself. So he just sat there until Luigi woke up.

"Watup, big bro?" he asked.

"Nothing much," Mario replied. "Why are you up before them?" he asked, motioning to Peach and Daisy.

"Because I had to use the bathroom," Luigi replied.

He went out back to the outhouse. Mario sighed. Mornings were very boring. Eventually he decided he would go back to sleep. Right he hopped into bed a super-loud Peach's Castle theme started playing. Mario could swear it shook the house. Luigi, still in the outhouse, heard absolutely nothing because he was busy dreaming. It suddenly stopped. Peach got off her chair.

"That was my alarm," she said to Mario, who was panting. Daisy was also awake. Luigi came into the house moments later.

"That was such a good dream," he muttered as he stumbled over to the kitchen to eat.

A few hours later, Mario was vacuuming. Peach put down the phone, which she had been using, and said, "Toad is coming over!"

Mario stopped abruptly. "Why Toad?" he asked. "Toad's really annoying!"

"I have given my declaration." Peach said firmly. Then she went outside.

An airplane landed in front of their house. Toad walked down the ramp holding two tiny suitcases. "Snazzy, huh?" he asked.

"Uh, sure." Peach said and opened the door for him. Toad saw Mario.

"MARIOOOO!" he shrieked and hugged Mario's leg. Mario looked at Peach and pointed at Toad.

"You'll be fine," Peach mouthed him.

"I can't read lips, you know," Mario said out loud.

"Why would you say that?" Toad asked.

"Uh...no reason." Mario replied.

"Okay!" Toad said.

"Toad, it's naptime," Peach said.

"But I just got here!" Toad complained.

"Toad, you're MY subject." Peach said. She put a leash on him and led him to Mario's bed.

"Hey, why does he get to sleep on MY bed?! Make him sleep on Luigi's bed!" Mario complained.

"Luigi cares much more about his bed than you. Don't be selfish, Mario." Peach replied.

"I'm just protecting my bed from Toad's germs!" Mario insisted.

Peach gave him a look and then laid Toad down. Mario groaned and then put the vacuum away. Luigi then came rushing in from the kitchen.

"Hey, Mario, let's play Nintendo Monopoly!" he yelled.

"Ugh, fine." Mario said.

Luigi set it all up. "I'll be the Star!" he said.

"I'll be the mushroom." Mario said.

Luigi gave Mario and himself their moneys and then Luigi said, "Youngest goes first!" he rolled the die and bought Tom Nook.

While he wasn't looking Mario snatched some extra money from the Bank. Then he rolled the die and bought Wario. He then realized he'd have to confess that he stole in confession, so he stopped stealing and they played their game properly.

During it Toad woke up. "Hey! Let me play!" he yelled.

"That's the end of this game," Mario said and started putting it away. "I won."

"Nuh uh!" Luigi protested. "I had more money."

"Oh yeah?" Mario argued. "How much?"

"$1,235." Luigi answered proudly.

Mario then realized he had actually lost. "Uh, what's the point of even figuring it out?" he asked and hurriedly put away his money before Luigi saw it. Luigi remained silent, though and they put it away.

"That was mean!" Toad yelled. "Princess, they're being mean!" he yelled at her.

"No, it's just that you have a reputation to be annoying," she replied.

Toad crossed his tiny arms. "Where's Princess Daisy?" he asked.

"She's out buying food." Peach replied. "And, if you'll excuse me, I need to go to the bathroom." She scurried out the door.

Mario and Luigi sat there, staring at Toad. Toad stared back.

"Uh, I'm tired." Mario said. He burned his whole bed to burn bacteria. Then he settled down onto his warm bed.

"Me too," Luigi said. He went over and got in bed after removing his shoes and then was sleeping in two seconds.

Toad sat on a chair. He tapped his fingers. He pulled a 3DS out of his diaper and played Super Smash Bros. He commonly played as Peach and then sat there flashing himself in the other fighters' faces.

Soon, Peach came back from the bathroom and sat in her chair. She read a magazine. Daisy came into the room holding a bunch of bags and went into the kitchen.

Toad suddenly said, "Let's go swimming!"

"No." Peach replied. "Besides, it's about bedtime."

Toad groaned. Peach put him in bed next to Mario. Then she settled down herself. Daisy also went to bed a few minutes later.

During the night, Mario woke up. He saw Toad there. He groaned, got up, and went outside. The night was cool. He sat there, staring at the moon.

"Boy, I hope I never play Majora's Mask." He said to himself. He went inside and plunked himself onto his bed. He threw his brown blanket into the air. It landed on his body. He made sure not to cover or touch Toad.

In the morning, Toad woke up and was playing his 3DS when everyone else woke.

"Toad, your airplane is here," Peach said.

"Okay. BYE MARIO!" he shrieked. He hugged Mario's leg. Then he dug in one of his tiny suitcases and pulled a vest identical to the one he was wearing. Then he changed into it. "Bye, everyone!" he yelled and went out the door.

Mario happily watched the plane taking off into the sky. A bunch of relief washed over him. Then he went over to his bed and died.

A/N: One thing you'll have to get used to is my habit of saying that people die in their beds. This basically means that they're super tired and they just flop there as if they're dead. (And, since I'm Catholic, you might see religious stuff like the confession thing sometimes too.) :)
