**Here's another Spiderverse chapter. Hey, what can I say, I'm a sucker for Miles "who's Morales?" Morales. Seriously one of the best films in my opinion. Good movie. Also, I'm upset because the roommate, Ganke, was supposed to play a larger role, but when Ned in Spiderman Homecoming got so big, and they borrowed so much Ganke traits to make Ned, they decided to cut Ganke out of the Spiderverse movie. That was a rant and a half.  Anyways, enjoy!**

Miles paced his room, his roommate, Ganke, watched from his bed. Tugging at his hair, Miles made a grunt, then another, and then yelled in frustration. "I said 'nice to smeet you.'"

Ganke smiled, biting his lip to keep the laugh from escaping.

"'Nice to smeet you'."

Miles collapsed onto the desk chair his roommate usually commandeered and spun backwards, groaning as he did so.

"What if you just pretend that didn't happen and try again later in the term? She might not even remember it."

Miles peered at his roommate from between his fingers. "You really think she didn't tell all of her popular, beautiful, perfect friends about it?"

Ganke shrugged. "You could ask your dad?"

Miles laughed. "As if. He only cares about school, man, he'll be mad I even tried to make a move."

"What about your-" Ganke cut himself off. It was kind of an unspoken rule that the two didn't talk about Miles' uncle now. Miles knew what he was saying though.

"He was a great guy, but I never really understood his advice on girls. He always said 'do the shoulder touch'."

"The shoulder touch?"

"Yeah," Miles said with a shrug, turning the chair around to face Ganke. "Like this." The teen put his hand on his roommate's shoulder. "Hey."

Ganke immediately burst into laughter. "That might actually be worse than 'nice to smeet you'."

Miles rolled his eyes and pushed himself backwards, away from Ganke. "Come on, man!"

Miles couldn't help but laugh a little with his roommate, and pretty soon, both boys were rolling over themselves in fits of laughter. After a few moments, they calmed down, each one heaving as they caught their breath.

"Well, who else could you talk to?" Ganke finally asked.

"I guess I could ask the Spider gang. I mean, I' only supposed to call in emergencies, but they'd probably help a lot."

"I wouldn't call Gwen or Penni if I were you. They won't help at all, they're girls."

Miles nodded his head in thought. "That's true. But I could ask Peter and Noir and probably Porky."

Ganke tossed Miles his phone, which was on the bed next to him, and grabbed the plug in collider he and Miles had created after the whole King Pin showdown. Miles plugged it in, fired it up, and typed in the dimensional coordinates for 3 of the 5 Spider gang.

"Hey, Miles," Peter greeted, his face popping up first.

"Nice to see ya, kid."

"As pigs would say: oink!" Porky's face was pressed up close to the phone on his side, making the image slightly blurry and indistinguishable.

"Hey, guys. I was-"

"Where's Gwen and Penni?" Peter asked, cutting Peter off. "While everyone is on the phone, I have exciting news!"

"Wasn't this for emergencies only?" Noir asked.

Porky got even closer to the camera somehow. "Exciting news?"

"Mary Jane and I are giving it another go. All of it. Wee're having a baby!" Peter gushed. "I'm going to be a dad!"

Miles and the other spiders congratulated Peter, whooping and hollering as they did so.

"Thank you, thank you," Peter held up his hands and waved off the kind words. "But really, we should be asking Miles what's up. Why'd you call, kiddo?"

"I, uh-" Miles rubbed the back of his neck, blushing a little. "I wanted to ask about how to ask a girl out?"

Everyone was quiet for a second, then Porky broke the silence. "I haven't dated since I was a pig, do you guys let the girls eat you when they're done with you? Or is that just a spider thing?"

Miles shook his head. "No! No, we don't eat each other!"

"Are you a jive bomber?" Noir asked. "You could just ask her to a club and-"

"He's, like, 12! He can't go to a club!"

"I'm 16!"

"What's a jive bomber?" Porky asked.

"A good dancer."

"Stop, just-" Peter ran a hand down his face. "Stop. Okay. Kid, what's going on? I thought you and Gwen were a thing?"

Miles reddened even more. "Kind of! Not, like, officially. Okay, so I called her and I was going to ask her to officially be my girlfriend and then-"

"Wait, were you going to say 'will you be my girlfriend'?" Peter cut in. Miles nodded.

"Bad form," Noir said, shaking his head. "You have to be a little more subtle than that."

"Well, there was nothing to be subtle about!" Miles threw up his hands. "I called and I was going to say 'It's nice to see you' but I got my words all tangled and I said-" Miles took a breath. "'Nice to smeet you'."

There was another beat of silence, then all three of the Spiders burst into laughter.

"Guys!"

They just kept laughing, each one repeating the word smeet in between their guffaws and hearty laughs.

"It's not funny!"

"It is very funny!" Porky countered.

Peter was the first one to calm down. "Okay, kid, I think you're just overthinking this. Gwen already likes you, and that was after you made bad jokes at her, forced her to shave one side of her head, showed her you were an inexperienced loser, and then got the shit beat out of you by King Pin. She's seen the worst. I think she can take smeeting you."

Miles pouted, his eyebrows pulled low over his eyes and his lips puffed out. "You're a jerk."

"I just mean, you're probably overthinking it. Just call her back, say you were nervous. She'll think it's sweet."

Miles thought for a moment, then looked at Noir and Porky, or rather, as much of Porky as he could see, for confirmation. They both nodded.

"You think if I'm just honest and put it out there, she'll say yes? I don't need a move or anything?"

Peter shook his head. "Nah. You know how I asked MJ to have a kid? I told her about you, all of you, and I told her that I wanted a baby. Just like that. I said 'Mary, I want to have a baby' and she said yes."

Miles smiled. "Hey, man, look. I'm so happy for you."

Peter smiled back. "And I'll be happy for you when you call your girlfriend!"

"Not his girlfriend yet!" Porky clarified.

"Okay, well, I'm gonna go call her. I'll talk to you guys later." Miles quickly signed off, waving as Noir, Peter, and Porky disappeared.

"You really gonna call her right now?" Ganke asked.

Miles looked down at the phone in his hands. His thumb hovered over Gwen's contact, twitching a little. Peter suddenly tossed the phone to the side and got up out of his chair. "I'll call her after dinner. That way we're both done with that and-"

Ganke cut his roommate off with a hand on the shoulder. "Hey. You got this."

Miles clicked the contact, his whole body tensing as the phone rang. The call was declined, but then, the whole room was lit up in green and pink. Gwen was opening a small portal, just a little one, enough to stick her head through.

"Hey, Miles. Do you want to be my boyfriend?"

Miles was shocked for a moment, his eyes and mouth wide open as he stared at Gwen. She raised an eyebrow, then pressed a light kiss to Miles' cheek.

"Is that a yes?"

Miles nodded violently. Gwen giggled.

"Alright. I'm going to dinner, I'll call you after! Bye, boyfriend."

The portal closed, leaving Miles and Ganke staring at one another in confused silence. Miles was stammering, just barely, and Ganke was blinking quickly.

"Well," Miles began. "That was-"

Ganke stood up. "Are we going to dinner then, or...?"
