"Maybe I should've taken the elevator..." Gidget mumbled, climbing up the fire escape. She mentally kicked herself for forgetting that. Panting, she gazed up longingly at the stairs waiting for her. Huffing, she muttered, "Come on, I can do this. I've done it so many times before. I can do it now." Luckily for her, it wasn't steaming hot outside like it was two days earlier and there was actually a nice breeze. Hopping up the steps one at a time, she breathed a sigh of relief when she saw she was nearing the end. Getting to the last step, she hopped up only to fall backwards. Shaking a little, Gidget peered over the edge, making sure she wasn't seen.

Not too far away from where she was hiding, Gidget could see Tiberius with his owner on the bench that was on the rooftop. The old hawk was laying in the old man's lap, purring loudly as he was petted. His eyes were closed and a smile was on his face. The Pomeranian was actually surprised at how happy he looked. Meanwhile, the hawk's owner was whispering kind words to him, which seemed to make the red tail purr louder. He even rolled over onto his back so he could get a gentle scratch under the chin.

"What am I seeing right now?" Gidget murmured under her breath, downright confused by the situation. Noticing that the pair was looking over where she was, she quickly ducked her head down, praying she hadn't been seen. After a few seconds, she looked up. Relieved that she still hadn't been caught, the fluffy white Pomeranian noticed that Tiberius was eating something that his owner had given him, which he seemed to enjoy. Petting the hawk's head, his owner spoke softly, "Dr. Green got ya something sweet boy." Watching as the old man reached into a bag, Gidget realized that Tiberius was actually celebrating his birthday, just not the way she expected. At that moment, his owner pulled out a ball of yarn.

"Yarn? Really? Like-" Gidget mumbled quietly, knowing that her friend wouldn't fall for something such as a ball of yarn. However, she was swiftly corrected and surprised when she saw Tiberius's eyes light up with delight. The old hawk let out a bunch of squeaks, practically begging. Chuckling softly, his owner gently tossed it across the rooftop. In a flash, the red tail chased after it and pounced, catching it in his talons. He played around with it like a kitten would. After a bit, the hawk flew over to his owner and nuzzled him gratefully. Petting Tiberius on the head, the old man murmured, "I'll be back tonight sweet boy. Behave and enjoy yourself." With that, he got to his feet and limped away. Once his owner was gone, the hawk went back to playing with the ball of yarn.

All the while, Gidget watched with a smile on her face before she decided to make herself known. Hopping up onto the surface of the rooftop, she yipped, "Hey Tiberius, whatcha doing?"
