Katie's sword made a loud sound as it blocked her from being hit by an arrow. The impact of it knocked her back slightly and she stayed in a state of shock for a few seconds thinking about how she almost got hit by an arrow again.

"Miss Gunderson, watch out!" She heard Carlos shout from a distance and she turned around to see Theo taking down another arrow coming for her back.

"Pay attention, idiot." He said, unbothered as he hit the back of the neck of a galra with the back of his spear.

Katie got back to her senses and turned around to see a galra running at her with his sword raised just in time. She blocked it and kicked his chest back as she got ready to strike him down again.

As Katie finished up the galra, she looked around the whole area to see how the others were holding up. There were many bodies on the ground but none of them were human as she could see.

Theo and Mark were in the farthest place from each other but their fighting style was still identical as they brought down every galra in their path to each other.

She turned her head to the other direction and saw Kenneth's sharp pose as he swiftly took down every galra. Drew seemed to be the opposite as his movements were more sloppy and a bit slower but once he was back to back with Kenneth, their dynamic worked out. While Drew took on the larger galra where were as slow as him, Kenneth took on the smaller and swifter.

Carlos was to her side shooting down the archers with his own bow and arrows but he didn't seem to notice the bigger armored galra coming for him.

"Carlos, move!" She shouted and Carlos moved aside in time as the galra ran past him.

"Thanks." He said with wide eyes and returned to fighting. Katie ran to his side and helped him with the bigger man.

Since they were both smaller, it meant they were both swifter on their feet and movements.

The galra tried to strike Carlos with his heavy looking and big sword but he quickly moved out of the way and gave time to Katie to finish it up. She moved from behind the galra while he was distracted by Carlos and jumped on him and used all her strength to find his neck and moved it violently to the side until she heard a snap.

Once the galra fell, Katie jumped off of him and dusted off her hands. Carlos put up his palm and she clapped her palm against his. That seemed to be the last galra standing by them.

Katie looked around to see that the twins already made it to one another and that Drew was on the ground panting while Kenneth drew in a sharp breath.

"Is it clear?!" Katie shouted over the distance to both duos and Mark put his thumbs up after looking around their surrounding.

They all gathered together again to sit down and rest after dropping off the dead bodies somewhere.

"What do we do now?" Katie asked and Mark sighed.

"We have to make sure no galra make it past us while our dear Prince warns the kingdoms." He said grinning but Drew frowned as he looked up, his brown eyes worried.

"But how long do you think we'll last? The first wave of them already got us all exhausted." He said what they all seemed to be thinking and they all went silent.

"We'll make it." Theo said after a while as he cleaned the blood from his spear and looked up, his gray eyes clear, "Keith chose us because he knows we're capable. We can hold them off in the time that he's warning them."

"I agree!" Carlos said, his loud and cheerful voice breaking the silence even more. "I've seen you all fight and I know we're all capable."

"We can last about 2 weeks at most if there are waves of them everyday." Kenneth said, his voice as sharp as his posture and Mark nodded.

"Keith won't take too long so we'll all be fine." He said, smiling, "Let's keep up the good work!"

Katie sighed and smiled. It seemed like they would be fine.

They just needed to last for a few more days.

They finished cleaning off their weapons and got back up to find camp for the night. Katie pulled the rein of Bandit and was glad she still got him to carry her supplies and for the ride.

When Keith left them behind, it was already a little past evening and fighting all the galra took at least half the night. They were tired and needed warmth too since the winds were starting to get colder as well.

Kenneth and Drew were tasked with making the tents while the twins went out to hunt for some food. Katie and Carlos's only task was to find some firewood that would last them the whole night. They split up in the forest to cover more ground in a short amount of time.

Katie stacked up all the firewood she collected in her arms and as she kept going forward, she ended up tripping on a tree root. It all fell down and she quickly scrambled to pick them all up. While she was picking it up, she realized she wasn't alone in the area. She almost called out Carlos's name thinking it was him but she heard female voices instead.

"Why are we here again?" A female with a bright voice said as she sighed and then Katie heard footsteps and a lower female voice responded.

"Our Prince wants us to make Empress Lucinda and her kingdom to join our side in the upcoming war." The other female responded, her voice low and quiet.

As Katie tried to get closer to listen more, she bumped into a firewood that was besides her feet and she felt both females going quiet.

That was the moment she knew she was screwed.

She cursed under her breath as she scrambled back on her feet and took off running to the direction she came from. While she ran, she felt them behind her getting closer and closer so she turned back for a second to see two physically diverse women.

One had vibrant colors for her skin color with excited eyes while the other was built and looked like galra with a murderous glare.

Katie tightened her lips as she continued running forward. She had a feeling she wouldn't survive both of them.

"Miss gunderson?" She heard and saw Carlos a distance away. Her legs picked up speed but one of the women stopped her from going forward by going in her path.

"Where do you think you're going after eavesdropping on us?" The brighter girl asked, smiling from the front and Katie grimaced as she took out her sword and looked back and forth between the two women.

She gave a quick look to Carlos who was still in the distance and told him to warn the others with her eyes. He nodded and quickly ran off while Katie turned her attention back to the women.

"Where did you come from?" She asked them with a sharp tone and the bright girl laughed while the darker girl looked at her with her dark gaze.

"I think we should be the ones asking questions." She said as she drew out her weapon and the bright girl smiled as she clapped her hands together.

"This will be fun." She said as her gaze turned darker.
