morning finally came and the sunlight, unsurprisingly woke Charles up.

he had Ruby resting on his lap and Henry had a newspaper on his face.

Charles found this as a good chance to look for Ellie and whoever the fuck she's with.

he removed Ruby from his lap and got out of the car, trying be as quiet as he can.

Charles walked into the bright woods. it was less spooky then it was at night

plus, it would be way easier since there's daylight. Henry may suspect something when he wakes up but Charles is far way too mad at Ellie

the funny thing is, he's not mad about the phone call.

but for whatever the reason he's mad about, it had to be a good reason.

Ellie and Johnny were already awake, all they were doing is finding their way back.

"once we go back to the car, we are driving yourself back home right?" Johnny asked. "because i cannot keep this up no more."

Ellie shook her head no, making Johnny groan.

"if we get caught-"

"we won't get caught, stop worrying!" Ellie sighed. Johnny shut his mouth after that but he still had lots of complains.

a few minutes of silence passed and Ellie heard footsteps coming towards her.

fast footsteps.

Johnny hid somewhere nearby just in case if it was Henry or...

Charles.

Ellie seemed to notice that the footsteps were getting louder by the minute and-

Charles threw himself on Ellie, making a loud thud on the ground. Johnny just hid there and facepalmed.

"Charles?!" she exclaimed.

the sick pilot got off of Ellie and stared at her, with anger in his eyes. 

"you son of a lying bitch!" Charles screamed in anger. it caught Ellie off guard, as well as Johnny.

it kind of angered Ellie, to be honest.

"who told you that you can come along?" she growled. Johnny hid deeper, hating to see Ellie blow up in front of him.

"uh, Henry did."

"bitch, you're sick. go home"

"YOU go home instead."

Ellie got on her feet and pushed Charles out of her way.

she pushed him onto a bush, hoping it'll buy her some time. she got Johnny out of his hiding place and ran to where her car is.

she finally reached there and made Johnny to get in the car, quickly.

Ellie got in the car and started it up, then she drove away. the last thing she saw was Charles watching her drive away.

"what did i tell you?!" Johnny shouted, looking back. "what did i tell you?!" he repeated. somehow, he was right.

Charles stood there, puzzled and angry but he doesn't know if he even should be angry anymore.

dust came to him and he started breathing it, causing him to pass out.

.

Charles woke up but this time.. he was.. home.

it surprised him and saw that Ruby was with him as well. he didn't want to go home, how did go back?!

no, no, no, no.

 "Henry!" Charles cried, to see if he was home. no response. he wasn't.

the worried thief left Charles and Ruby home to go chase Ellie on his own.

damn it..
