Tokyo, February 15th, 2019.

The Arima's current matriarch, Yumi Arima is watching the news while grading her student's paperwork as the broadcast was interrupted and switched into Breaking News.

Takahiko are still on his way home from his office by train while Daigo was on night shift at the hospital.

"It has been confirmed by the Coalition Forces Command that Kim Jong Un, leader of North Korea, has been killed tonight in a joint operation by South Korea and the United States.."

"Risa, Nana, come here!" she called.

Both of Kousei's younger stepsisters went downstairs into the family room when the TV is on.

"What's going on, Mum?" Nana asked.

"Look! It's Kousei!" Risa exclaimed as he saw his brother, in uniform, are being interviewed by the NHK reporter inside the ground of Osan Air Base.

The family saw Kousei told the reporter "I have no remorse whatsoever. Instead I felt closure that the South Koreans got him, just like every Korean out there. They deserved the lion's share of credit in this war. The more important thing is, we and Korea are going to come to terms with our past and live in peace with each other especially as I believe we come here and fight to redeem ourselves from our forefather's sin towards the Korean people...

"We did it!" Nana followed.

"Kousei-oniichan!" They both burst to tears of joy as they saw their elder adopted-brother was alive and well.

"I have a good news for you two. We are to greet our forces returning home on March 1st, as the government has designated it as a national holiday, with the main event will be here in Tokyo. And according to my colleagues your brother will lead the flypast of aircraft above Tokyo!"

"Thank you, okaa-san!" Both girls said.

At Emi's house, Tojiro and Kotori rises up when the news came, and hugging each other in relief that their only daughter as far as they know survived the war and will soon go back home.

Tsubaki's parents are celebrating the announcement with most of the Totsuhara City resident gathering in the park near the Mayor's office. The same case also with Watari's one. Flags of Japan and South Korea unfurled; some sing a new Japanese patriotic song hastily composed by Yoshiro Fukuda. And today will be it's premiere.

Farewell, Farewell, Korea!

The sons and daughters of Nippon has atoned a past sin

Proudly marched in the spirit of Free Asia

And together we are united in friendship!

In Cure Maid Cafe, in Akihabara, maids and patrons burst in joy and congratulating each other as the TV broadcast the announcement. Some also shouted "Minalinsky!" referring to the 9-kill ace Capt. Kotori Minami, used to work part time in that said cafe particularly in her days as a school idol.

Still in Chiyoda, a sweet shop called Homura was packed with customers when the news come, and the neighborhood rose up in celebration. Many of the fans of the daughter of the shop's owner carry her photograph in JNAF uniform, signifying their appreciation for Honoka, the former leader of Muse, not only as an idol, but also as a soldier.

In Kanda, the more ancient part of the Chiyoda Ward, an equally conservative family are celebrating quietly in their own house and dojo, and later drop a prayer in a nearby shrine, in gratitude of the victory of the Coalition Force, which their daughter, Sonoda Umi, took part as one of the few, and proud, Japanese Navy carrier-deck pilots.

In the United States, celebrations erupt across the country with the same manner as the death of Osama bin Laden back in 2011. The difference is, along with US flag. Taegukgi was also flown, not only by ethnic Koreans in America but also other groups.

European reaction are somewhat subdued compared to the Americans, with Korean emigres in the region went into streets of European and Western cities like London, Paris, Berlin, Warsaw, Sydney, and many more, in a "March for Peace and Reunification".

Korean community in South East Asian countries were also celebrating the end of the war, and compared to other region, it was the most violent, particularly as socialist/progressive political cadres and sympathizers went into fights with pro-South Korean citizens, most notably in Manila when cadres associated with the NDFP (National Democratic Front of the Philippines) went into clashes with South Korean expatriates marched along the city in celebration of Kim's end, resulted in 25 arrests. In Indonesia, the South Korean Embassy designated the following month after the end of the war as "Indonesia-South Korea Friendship Month" with cultural and trade events, most importantly, the appreciation for Indonesian forces fought in Korea. On the other hand, Indonesian police, helped by a tip from the Filipinos, arrested several student activists linked to the ILPS, or International League of People's Struggle, the pro-DPRK international umbrella of the NDFP after reports of assaults and pro-North Korean propaganda towards the Korean community in Indonesia, helped by the country's blanket ban on communist parties and propagation of it's ideology.

As Kim's death was authenticated, psychological operation aircraft such as American EC-130J Commando Solo, a variant of C-130J Super Hercules, are immediately deployed to spread the news to North Korean citizens and Resistance Axis forces still defending the remnants of DPRK's territory along the Chinese and Russian border, often called as "Red Area".

Twenty-five minutes upon the announcement, the Government of China announced an unilateral ceasefire with the Coalition Forces and start disarming surviving Korean People's Army units in the Red Area.

Iranian forces present in the ranks of the KPA choose to surrender to the Chinese rather than the South Koreans and other Coalition states. Being politically allied with each other, the Iranians believe that they will have some sort of leniency compared to the Western-aligned Coalition and permitted to go home, retaining their personal equipment. The Iranian government are intensively negotiating with the Chinese to expedite their expeditionary force's repatriation as back at home, protests are growing against both the Rouhani administration and the mullahs, especially the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, citing Iran's involvement in the Korean War and it's support on extremist groups abroad while it's economy tanked following the re-imposition of sanctions, first by the United States, Japan, South Korea, and reluctantly, Europe, rendering the JCPOA null and void in entirety.

Cuban Expeditionary Force in Korea has all but annihilated in fighting and the remnants were interned in China upon Kim's death was announced.

Venezuela's own force in the region had also badly mauled, and in fact are the first to surrender to the South Koreans in Chongjin.

The following days saw South Koreans found a large column almost one million North Korean soldiers, men and women including Red Guard militias marched into Coalition's line of defense, together with civilians tagging alongside them. Vast majority were armed, but they looked ragged and some are as young as 14. Upon the encounter, the North Koreans raised their arms and try their best to look harmless. News camera all over the world watched as the long column of North Koreans, demoralized and beaten by months of fighting which at times had seen them subjected to heavy bombardments. Some had participated in the invasion of the South and saw the worst.

On the other hand, as the Chinese attempts to disarm their erstwhile ally, there are remnants of KPA units resisting the move. Some out of desperation, some with the much more noble motivation, to buy time for their comrades to surrender to the South.

But the official closure of the perennial conflict was four days later, in February 23rd, the same time as the birthday of the Japanese Emperor, Naruhito, as the prospect of losing a part of Korean territory to China and possible nuclear annihilation finally awaken the surviving North Korean leadership, now interned in Busan. Premier Pak Pong-ju, finally, ordered the entire Korean People's Army to lay down their arms, in camera. He also announced, as the acting Supreme Leader, that there will be a series of multi-party talks with Western powers, China, and Russia, to finally stop the war and initiate a transition into the long overdue, reunified Korea. At that day, for all intents and purposes, the Korean War was officially over, and now came the process of securing the defeated KPA and it's bristling stock of weaponry and other equipments..
