Chapter Thirteen 

happy and safe 

3rd person pov 

with that being said, he got up from his spot and walked over to the pool where veah and dora were. he touched doras shoulder softly and she turned her head as veah did the same and they both looked at him and then pointed to the water 

"is the water fucking boiling?" he asked and veah nodded 

"looks like it" she said and he sighed as he looked around and then he grabbed doras hand helping her up off the ground as he did the same thing to veah and they looked around too. 

"wheres juna and katya?" veah asked and he shrugged. he could see two silhouettes not too far from them. he could see their hair and he sighed softly with a smile 

"right there" he stated and they nodded as they began to walk over to them. they saw the two of them holding hands and veah smiled as she looked at dora. she was happy that they got to admit they were in love but she hated that she couldn't. she was too scared of rejection and hurt.  dora was sadly thinking the same thing at the same time. 

"juna!" veah called and the couple turned to veah, dora and alex. they smiled at them and the three of them smiled back. it wasn't a time to be happy but somehow they were. the idea that the group was happy right now meant something to all of them in some sort of weird fucked up way. juna knew that they could survive this and so did everyone else. they all felt happy and safe with each other right now and that meant something to them. they had hope that no one else was going to die tonight and that meant something to them. it meant everything. veah held doras hand as juna held katyas and alex looked around 

"fuck I forgot my weapon, ill be right back" he said and veah turned to alex 

"alex , its fine, just stay here" she tried and he shook his head making her stare at him. 

"no its not if I don't have it, I don't have a fighting chance, and I need it v. So I'll be right back I promise." he told them and he walked off but veah looked at dora and the others to see that they all held the same facial expressions. they didn't think that he was apart of it but they had a reason too. Dora didn't want to believe that her brother would be a part of the whole thing and be a killer but she could see his weapon in his pocket, so why would he lie? 

"look you guys I think we should just go hide you you know just to be safe" katya suggested and veah looked at dora and then juna 

"I agree, we haven't seen them in a while but their plan is to kill us all and I think if we're out here in the open then they have more of a chance and we don't want them to have a chance right so I I agree I think we should go hide" veah spoke up and the girls nodded. they waited and waited and waited and waited for alex to come back but there was no sign of return at all. 

"do you think we should just go?" juna asked 

"he hasn't come back in five minutes. You guys either is a part of this whole thing or he got attacked but we would've known if he got attacked because we would've heard a yell or a gunshot so I think we should go." katya said and veah looked at dora 

"it's your choice D he's your brother and if you want to stay out here and wait for him you can but I don't think it's a safe idea. Being out here in the open is not a safe idea." veah told them and dora looked around one more time hoping and praying that her brother would come back but there was sign of him. 

"I get it I think we should go. He's my brother and I don't want to believe he's a part of this but he hasn't come back in five minutes and we haven't heard a gunshot or yell and we haven't seen any of the killers and you're right being out in the open during this is just stupid so I think we should go" dora said and veah nodded as she grabbed the girls hand and they began to walk to t a safe space. they didn't know where but somewhere here had to be safe. they walked until they got to the one place that had doors and a pull down lock that could keep them safe but it had to be closed from the outside, and none of them wanted to be out there alone, because if they were out there alone, there was more of a possibility of them being caught. 

"guys one of us has to close it" dora said and they all looked at each other 

"ill do it" juna said and katya looked at her 

"please be safe I can't lose you too" katya told her and juna leaned in to kiss her girlfriend. veah leaned her head on doras shoulder as they watched them sadly 

"ill be safe, I promise" she stated and she walked out of the station as she went to pull the lock down but it got stuck. they saw someone standing in the distance and veah sucked in a breathe 

"juna, you need to hurry" veah told her and she turned around only to see gun being pointed at her head and she got shot in the side. it wasn't enough to kill her but enough to injure her 

"NO, NO , NO" katya cried out as she watched juna slide down the wall and juna turned to her but she couldn't see her

"its okay, I love you" she told her and with that, she got shot in the head. katya let out a scream as veah held her and she looked at dora who was watching them and she hugged her too. 

what would katya do without juna?
