So...
What is something that is lacking in the fantasy genre (that isn't set in futuristic societies)?

Heroes with disabilities.

I'm not saying there aren't any, I'm just saying I haven't come across any (besides Lopen in the Stormlight Archive, but he wasn't a main character). Or any that I can remember.

I really wanna see a fantasy story that has this and don't people always say 'write the book you want to read'?

So, imma do it someday. But I need some help. Yours, specifically.

But seriously, I'd appreciate your help. Because every single one of you on Wattpad is creative, whether you know it or not.

Anyways... lemme tell you what I got so far. It isn't much.

So the character: Rehn Rehsh is his name. He's the eldest son (and maybe the only idk yet) of a wealthy aristocratic family. But when he was a teen, he had an accident that broke both of his lower leg bones. A doctor came, set the bones, did all he could. Something went wrong though, and infection soon set in. The doctor caught the ailment too late and the only solution was to amputate both legs from the knee down.

Now Rehn has prosthetic wooden and leather legs, but it hurts too much using them, he can only use them for a short amount of time. Because of this, he uses a wheelchair.

But his parents only care about public appearances and refuse to have this abomination represent their family. So, they disown him. And he's left on his own, soon coming to live above a rundown bookstore run by an old man determined to fix Rehn's arrogant attitude by making him carry the returned books to the front counter.

Rehn doesn't want to do this, of course, preferring to study maps and do the math equations in the paper that's just too easy for him. And going and sitting at bar, not drinking, but assessing people. Okay and sometimes drinking. What can he say? He's got a bitterness in the heart that's a lure for alcohol.

So basically, Rehn's smart, he can strategize easily. Maybe when his 'call to duty' comes he'll even take advantage of that bookstores old books.

But what I'm asking you lovely folks is, what could challenge this disabled fellow? What comes around and puts a hinge in his plans?

Or what else could his character be?

Or just your ideas in general.

I have big plans for him in the future though, that involve him being a strategist in a war against demons too big for his world. Well, worlds. And also involve several other characters including Zephyrs (featured in 'Dark Days') and Raynsheryyk  (featured in the chapter 'shadow well' in 'Tales of Then'). And others as well, but I don't have stuff written with them in it yet.

Oh, and I have something written that has Rehn in it. But it's after this book would take place, when the demon-war or WHATEVER ITS GONNA BE CALLED takes place. The thing written with him in it the chapter 'Burning' in 'Tales of Then.'
