The dark haired girl sat sadly staring at the wall. Her previous master had passed. An now at 16 she was put on the auction block. 

Would the new master be kind like the old one that bought her?
Or would he be mean, and scary like some of the other vampires eyeing her now?

  She played with her fingers, wishing she could have a bath. But this was her lot as a blood bag for now.

  A few employees for the auctioneer had come to fetch her, and unceremoniously drag her to be auctioned. 

    "Hey not so rough! Your manhandling her, even though she is  coming willingly!" Shouts a Stern voice causing her to look up. She knew she shouldn't. The auctioneer said no eye contact.

  On looking up she met a Stern set of eyes, that turned gentle as they locked on hers. He wore a large steel mask hiding his face, and had long wild red hair.

      She oddly felt no fear of him as she stayed locked. Well until they hit the side of her head. "Eyes down slave!" She was ordered. She yelps, though she swore she heard a growl.

Soon the auctioneer was asking for bids. $10,000.. $25,000.. bids kept increasing.

"One hundred billion. And anyone tries to outbid me dies!" The male in a mask says darkly. 

   "Sold to Master Vlad!" The auctioneer shouts after the room goes silent.

    Vlad soon materialized next to her handing the man a large cash wad. "I'll collect her now. Since you can't be trusted." He says as a large arm pulls her to his side. Before in a blink there in his balcony box.

     "So the Paper says your name is Katherine. And please look at me when speaking. I never want you to lower your eyes again. " He says warmly as I look up at him..

    "Um.. If it's ok. I hate being called Katherine.. My old master called me Kitty." She says a little bolder.

      "Kitty? Kitty?" He says as if testing the name as a small smile forms on his masked face. "Kitty. I like it."
