At the end of the school day, Makayla was the first to get out of there as she couldn't stand being around anyone anymore.

Still, she kept her head down and tried her best to not look at anyone or talk to anyone that she might have came across. In the front of the school there was a slight outline of a car which she only noticed when the window was rolled down.

I'm the car was a male blue alien with emerald green eyes and was wearing a black suit with a dark blue lightning bolt on it, black spiked boots, matching gloves, and a black cape with spiked shoulders and a huge collar. His name is Megamind, Makayla's legal guardian.

"Hey, Makayla how was school?" He asked as the black and silver haired girl walked up to the car.

"Fine." Makayla said quickly as she got into the car. "Can we go home now?"

"Is something wrong?" Megamind asked in concern for his adopted daughter. "You seem a little on edge about something."

Makayla kept quiet as she didn't feel like talking about it to anyone. Megamind sighed as he started the car and they drove off. Makayla was quiet the whole time and the ride was a little awkward. So, once they got to the lair, Makayla threw her stuff down and ran to her room as fast as she could.

"Kayla! Wait!" Megamind shouted attempting to be able to talk to his adoptive daughter. However, Makayla had already ran to her room and slammed the door.

'Finally, I'm alone.' The black and silver haired girl thought to herself. As she layed on her bed, she couldn't help but start to cry as a realization hit her. "I'm. . . alone. Nobody likes or cares about me! I don't even know about me real parents!"

Suddenly, Makayla heard a knock at her door which startled her for a minute. "Makayla? It's me, can I come in?" A familiar voice said sounding concerned.

Makayla quickly whipped her tears away and sat up straight. "Uh, y-yeah come in!"

When the door opened, the person at the door was revealed to be Megamind. Makayla sighed as she was knew what he was going to ask.

"Are you doing okay?" The blue alien asked placing his hand on Makayla's shoulder.

"If you really want to know, school sucks alright?!" Makayla snapped. "Everybody hates me and is scared of me because of some stupid rumor that Jade spread about me!"

"Jade? Isn't that the girl that you were best friends with up until 8th grade?" Megamind asked. "What kind of rumor did she spread about you?"

"She told everybody that I was a demon witch!" Makayla explained after taking a deep breath. "I just know those rumors are, well, rumors! But at the same time. . . That is a really specific lie to spread. So. . . I'm starting to question things about myself."

"Hey, don't listen to her. You're not a demon witch. You're just a normal girl like her." Megamind smiled. "You'll be okay, I promise."

At that cue music started to play and Megamind began to sing.

Megamind: "It always seems
more quiet in the dark

"Thank you, Megamind." Makayla smiled giving Megamind a big hug after he finished singing. "I'm not gonna let those lies get the best of me!"

"That's what I like to hear." Megamind smiled. "Now I think you should get to bed."

"Yeah, I should." Makayla yawned. "Goodnight Megamind. And thanks again."

"No problem, Kayla. Goodnight." Megamind said before turning off the lights and leaving the room.

With that over with, Makayla fell right asleep. Little did she know that her past is not as she believes it too be, and she will soon find out.
