"Are we really not meant to be?" his breath hitched, lips curved up in a pained smile but his eyes were brimmed with tears filled with all his feelings and the emotions that he never let go to waste now flowed down with the tears, tearing the walls of his heart and leaving a burning sensation behind with the wet trail on his skin, "maybe not in this life," her eyes couldn't keep looking at him and her words stopped midway as if a knot were forming at the back of her throat, "maybe in another life..." he finished her unfinished sentence in a whisper under his breath, a nod of his head followed the lonely tear rolling down his cheeks which then crashed with the walls of his smiling lips and then it vanished; he turned around. Her lips quivered, hands shivering to hold him back but he took a step, then another, and never looked back.
