Yokai having children is different than humans. Certain conditions must be met for the baby's soul to form. First, the two yokai must love each other unconditionally. Two, they must share a form of true love such as a kiss. Finally, the female must be strong enough to hold the baby and her own soul till the child is born. Otherwise, the infant's soul will vanish and leave the mother's soul scarred.

Mystica was three months pregnant and her stomach began to show. For royal yokai, pregnancy is more stressful since the baby soul drains them of their energy, making them very tired. The baby soul also requires a lot of rest and energy, which makes the mother tired and hungry constantly.

During the pregnancy, the mother can not use any abilities,powers or her inspiritment which means they need to be guarded at all times. This means the husband, Komasan in this case, must protect her till the baby is delivered and to keep an eye on her mood swings which were destructive like fires.

Yokai pregnancy can last up to six months. Each month has a different effect on the mother, each worse then the last. The first month is lack of sleep, having the expecting mother to have very little energy. The first month allow the soul to form. The second month causes random outbursts of anger, allowing the soul of the infant to learn emotions. The third month is the month of silence, not to speak a single word the month the baby's body forms.

The fourth month makes the expecting mother extremely hungry, more than every Hungramps in the Yokai world,this provides the baby to get energy as well as keep up Mystica strength up too. The last two months are the most critical for the baby. The fifth month allows the parents to learn the gender, powers, and the tribe of the infant. The "Revealing" is a very special for the parents, it is a very wonderful occasion in the baby's life. "Fate Month" is the most frightening month. The month that Oruke visits the night before the baby is born to determine if the baby lives or it dies.

Mystica silently prayed for the baby to successfully be born healthy. She hoped the stars would grant the baby would be granted a chance to live.
