The light is as crystal blue as my eyes. The shining blinds me. Before I clamp my eyes shut tightly, I notice the door start to open, but pauses. The curtains stop blowing in the wind. When I open my eyes again, an old lady with long, beautifully white hair is sitiing on the guest room bed. She has laugh lines and an eerie sense of power.

"Why hello, Bella," says the woman with a gentle, yet mystical, smile. I looked her in the eyes. How does this magical old lady know my name?! But as I'm gazing at her eyes, I do a double take, she had my eyes.

"Gram?" I ask, her name forming on my lips. Wait, what? I have never met my grandmother! I have never recognized someone subconciously before and it scares the heck out of me. It feels as if I have no control over my life anymore.

"Listen, my sweet," my grandmother continues, "we have limted time together so I am just going to give you the basics. You must feel very confused."

I start to interrupt her, but she sends me this look and I immediately back down.

"You have been bestowed a curse or gift, however you choose to look at your siituation. The spell was simply cast to make you, well, perfect. Your features have been perfected, your abilities have been perfected. You are almost unable to fail at anything and it is nearly impossible for someone to think you are unattractive! This at first may seem like a present that will improve your life, but it soon may wear on you. If you ever feel the need to transform back to your previous self, the answer is hidden in that very box," Gram says, pointing at the jewelry box. "It would simply not be as fun if I just straight out gave you the answers, now would it?" Her speech explains why I look like this but I am still struggling to process this.

I also dont see how this could be a curse, but I let this annoyingly cyptic old hag talk. "I will give you a proper gift though. Take this necklace, and wear it at all times," she continues. The necklace has a silver chain and is bound with a simple diamond pendant in the shape of a teardrop with silver hands holding it. I take it. As the necklace touches my fingers, the woman disappears and everything is still. Although I am still confused, I am not clueless.

My door creaks open, and Jordan peers in. "Hey, Bella."

"Did you not just notice that lady?" I ask.

"There was no lady, Bell, I think you might need to rest. You've probably been through a lot today," Jo says, probably thinking that I'm insane, which I probably am.

I lie down, convincing myself that that was all in my head. But when I reach my hands towards my neck, I touch a familiar teardrop.
