Yesterday I came across a Facebook post by an author on my friends list. I honestly don't know her, never met her in person, I've only interacted with her on Facebook. However, she wrote a scathing post about Harry Potter. I get that JK Rowling is a raging homophobic bitch and I don't support that but the Harry Potter books were a big part of my daughter's childhood. We still own them and I don't plan on getting rid of them.

This author said things like "if you still purchase or read Harry Potter then you're supporting her transphobia and I'm judging you hard ... extra points if you have a cringy Harry Potter tattoo. A symbol of hatred and bigotry is on you forever and your tattoo hasn't aged well".

Spouting nastiness like this makes her no better than Rowling with her hatred for the LGBTQ+ community. If you don't like Rowling, then don't support her. Don't buy her merchandise. But spouting more hatred solves absolutely zero. Needless to say, I unfriended her. Yeah, I don't like Rowling because of her attitude, but I'm not going to support spreading this woman's hatred.
