Cleaning Up The Past

Stupid stupid nurse. He didn't even finish his train of thought, thought he was always like a bag of cats. Never could stay on one topic.

It was cute how he wrote me a note. I didn't see any other notes in there, for anyone else.

Looking around the room I actually realized how much of a mess it was. I remember when this was a 3 1/2 star hospital with 12 floors. Now there's only 5.

Hmmm, I thought, I'm going to clean up.

Brooms were still in the dusty cobwebbed janitor's closet, taking one I swept the hall and organized the papers and clipboards at the nurse's station. By the time the rain stopped, the entire floor was spic-span and clean.

I saved his room for last. After putting all the rooms into shape and placing the clipboards/papers into the correct plastic folders by each room's door, I took care of him.

Sweeping up the glass, organizing papers, and making his bed. When it came time to make his bed, I found a note under the comforter.

Dear my Sweet Gwendolyn,

Still picking up after others...?

You need to let them pick up their own messes, being order back into your sweet life darling.

With everlasting love,

N.

I really miss him.

A lot.
