Feather's POV

He continued starring at me for a while. A few moments later, he abruptly turned around. That was........ Weird. Not that I'm complaining.....

I stepped out of bed. Brandon's back was turned to me. "Ready to go?" He asks. "Uhh. Sure.." I reply,"What was that about?" I watched as he turned around, facing me once more.

He gave me a confused look, as if he didn't just stare at me for a solid six minutes. "Mhmm. Nothing." He says nonchalantly. "Do you think that I'll need my sword?" I ask. He shakes his head.

"Nah....... We should be fine.." He replies. He leads the way as we make our way outside. The sky was turning from a light lavender to an ashy orange color. Sunrise. We walked side by side for a bit. Brandon stopped when we got to a rock a ways away from the house.

"Do you want to watch the sunrise with me?" He asked, sitting down. I reluctantly took a seat next to him. An awkward silence loomed between us as the stars disappeared and the sun stretched it's arms above the forest.

Out of my peripheral vision, I notice Brandon, starring intently at the changing skyline. With a small smile placed on his lips, His dark brown eyes were slightly dilated. I wonder what he's thinking about...

Probably you...

AHH! Where did you come from?!

Like I said before, I don't know. I just woke up one day and BLAM! I was here! Just like you.

Huh.

Yeah. It makes you think..

We continued starring at the sky until Brandon got up. "Well.... I'm off. You can go back to the house if you want." He said, turning his back.

"Can I walk with you?" I request. He already said that I could go on a walk with him. Why is he acting so weird? He stiffened up for a moment. "Oh yeah! Sorry... My mind is all over the place right now.." He apologized. I quickly get up off he rock and walk next to Brandon.

Brandon wasn't much for conversation as we made our way through he woods. He was awfully quiet. I wonder what's got him such deep in thought...

Once.... Again. Probably you.

Shush!

Brandon's POV

My mind was sorting out my emotions. I'm sorta glad Feather didn't talk to me. I feel conflicted.....

Brandon. Just stop. Take a step back..... Focus on yourself. Eventually, you will just see her as a friend.....

Just.... Stop loving her!

Maybe if you don't talk to her for a while....

No way.

I sighed and took a deep breath in. I love being in the woods. It helps me think.....

Nine years ago...

"Come on, Brandon! Let's goooooooo~ooo!" James whined. He may be one year younger than me, but he's still annoying! But..... I still care about him. So far, It's been a year since I arrived in this land, which I had found out was "Terraria"

"Boys? Where are you going?" I heard Kathryn, the nurse call from the kitchen. She's a nice lady, she cares for lots of people! "Brandon and I are going into the woods!" James piped up. Kathryn chuckled. "Ok boys, be safe!" She said.

I laughed as James led me outside. He's taught me some important things, like... Why I arrived here.... Why don't I remember anything about my past... Why the last person was so rude.....

Apparently, I arrived here as a "Guide" I'm supposed to lead heroes like James to banish the corruption from this land. Huh.... It sounds pretty cool... But not as cool as a hero..

"Brandon! Hurry up!!!" James said. He must've noticed I was slacking. I jogged a bit to catch up with him. James giggled.

(D-do thirteen year old boys giggle? I-- don't think I should google that...)

"Hey Brandon! Guess what?" James asked. I look at him dumbfounded. "TAG! YOU'RE IT!" He shouted, running away. I laughed and chased him through the woods.

"Can't catch me!!" He taunts. My pace picks up as I pounce on him. We both roll onto the ground, practically dying of laughter.

I love the woods...... So many fun adventures to be had! We both stayed on the ground for a while, looking up at the clouds.

"Hey Brandon?"

"Yes?"

"You're my best friend!"

I was extremely flattered. Nobody was my friend....I didn't even think I had friends before....

"You're my best friend too.." I say softly. He rolled over and faced me. "Hey Brandon? Do you know how to shoot a bow?" James asked. I shook my head. He chuckled.

"How about I teach you?" He offered. I didn't know what to say, so I just nodded. We both got up as he pulled a bow and a couple arrows out of his bag.

He pressed the bow into my hand. "Now, take your other hand and put your fingers between the arrow." He instructed. I did as he said. "Now, pull back and aim at the tree..." He continued. I aimed for the center of the tree.

"Let go."

The arrow whizzed past and struck the tree. I did it! James looked at me in awe. "Wow! Are you sure you haven't shot a bow before?" He said, jokingly.

I looked at the skyline. The sun was already meeting the horizon. "Uhh.... James? Shouldn't we head back now?" I suggested. He scoffed in reply. "Nah.. We'll be fine, don't be such a wimp, Brandon." James replied. I decided to listen to him. He was going to be Terraria's hero after all.

My worries grew as the sky darkened. I heard a loud groan. "J-James? W-w-ww-what was that?!" I stuttered, but I already had a sinking feeling of what it was. My suspicions were confirmed when a zombie popped out from behind the tree.

I shriek escaped my mouth. I've seen a few before and I don't like them at all! James rolled his eyes and destroyed it with his golden sword. "You are such a baby!" He mocked.

My eyes became wide as I saw many more zombies get dangerously close to us.

"RUN!" James shouted, getting the zombie's attention. I turned around and bolted. James did the same, but he was slightly slower.

I turned my head and saw the zombie's gaining on him. "DON'T LOOK BACK! KEEP RUNNING, BRANDON!" He yelled as a zombie jumped on his back.

I turned back around just as I ran into a tree trunk and blacked out.

I woke up in a semi familiar place. I was still in Terraria, but the house wasn't here. Huh... This is what happened last time...

Feather POV

"Brandon?!" I ask, waving my hand in front of his face. He was just standing in the middle of the woods, completely zoned out. My body stood in front of him.

"Brandon?" I ask, softer. He continued, his gaze fixated on a tree. I stared up at his dark brown eyes. Ugh... You could just get lost in them. His attention snapped towards me.

"Brandon?! You okay?" I ask. I move to his side to steady him since he was a bit wobbly. He looks at me and shakes his head. "Yeah... I'm fine... Just zoned out for a--" His explanation was interrupted by a unnoticeable gunshot.

I screamed in horror as a patch of a red liquid grew on his torso.
