My is Lily and I'm seven years old. I've been afraid of the dark since I could remember. My brother, Jonathan, always would sit by my bed at night and tell me funny stories until I fell asleep.

Sometimes I'd wake up in the middle of the night and go to his room but whenever I got to the door, I heard him crying. When I knocked, the crying would stop and my brother would stand there looking at me.

"Can't sleep, kiddo?" He would say.

I would reply with a yes and he would take my hand  and come inside my room then tell me funny stories again. Sometimes he'd even fall asleep in my room.

One day I had got home from school with my mom. Jonathan would be home by now. I hadn't seen him much in the day time so whenever I got home I would go check on him. I loved him very much.

There was a note on his door with my name on it one day and I opened it.

"Dear Lily, don't open the door, I'm having a rough day and big brother is a bit sad, but keep the letter. I love you so much. Here I wrote you a funny poem I always want you to remember: Once the ghost boy stole a boys toy, ran down the lane and got hit by the train, and now the boy is sad, he says, 'no more candy no more roast.' Then he laughs to himself and says, 'oh wait I'm a ghost."

The letter had made me laugh. I didn't go in his room. However, when it was time for dinner, I remember mom calling him and he never came down. I stayed downstairs with dad at the dinner table when all of a sudden dad and me heard a loud scream.

I didn't know why they were screaming when mom and dad went upstairs that day. I remember the cops came and carried my brother out of the house. There was a white sheet covering his body.

That night I went to sleep and Jonathan came in my room and sat at the edge of my bed. He started sobbing. I couldn't hug him because my arms would just go through him. So I told him a poem:

"Once the ghost boy stole a boys toy, ran down the lane and got hit by the train, and now the boy is sad, he says, 'no more candy no more roast.' Then he laughs to himself and says, 'oh wait I'm a ghost."
