See you there, 'trooper! OOORAH!

---

2K23 is now just over halfway done, 'troopers! As always, the Mothership travels onwards with no end in sight!

October 1st: Tevun-Krus #116 - Horror SF

At long last we've decided to broadly tackle Horror SF. Zombies, vampires, werewolves, space aliens from Uranus, murder, mayhem, mystery, a haunted airlock that won't shut properly—if it's horror and it's science fiction, it fits!

November 5th: Tevun-Krus #117 - Best of 2K23

Shhh.

December 3rd: Tevun-Krus #118 - A Very Merry Lost World Christmas

Who doesn't love a little Lost World? Long-lost creatures, adventure, mysteries, forgotten civilizations. Combine it with a Christmassy twist and St. Rex is your uncle!

We've also revealed what's planned for '24! We may not be done with 2K23 but it never hurts to be prepared!

Tevun-Krus #119 - AfroFuturism 2

We first tackled AfroFuturism in 2020 for TK76. Now we're taking on the subgenre once again! AfroFuturism combines traditional African art, architecture, cultures and values (and that of the African diaspora) with the sheer wonder that is our shared science-fiction future!

In more recent years, there's been a divide between "AfroFuturism" and "AfricanFuturism"—where the former term has increasingly been applied to works about or by the African diaspora and the latter restricted to the African continent. The Ooorah Mothership has taken a stance of inclusivity, so we welcome stories from both branches of this subgenre.

TK Special #8 - AI: The Artificially Generated Special!

AI, eh? You probably saw this coming! What you probably didn't see coming is the fact this is a TK Special, not a main TK issue! Our reasoning is the following: Wouldn't it be kinda cool/fun if we actually created AI-generated/-guided content for an issue? We think so!

However, if you want to actually, y'know, write an AI-themed story, go for it!

In the war between artificial intelligence and actual intelligence, this issue will surely be a battle!

Tevun-Krus #120 - MergePunk

The fan-favourite concept is back for its official Tevun-Krus debut!

First appearing in one of our trademarked SmackDown challenges, then appearing in an anthology we co-ran with an an Ambassador-run Wattpad profile, MergePunk is all about merging one -Punk subgenre with one non-Punk subgenre.

CatPunk meets First Contact? How about Time Travel x DreamPunk? Or AncientPunk and Superhuman SF?

The possibilities are endless!

Wow!

Tevun-Krus #121 - FanFic SF: The Sequel!

A long time ago, in an issue far, far away... we tackled FanFic SF the way Batman tackles Harry Potter's archnemesis, Lord Voldemort! Now, many years later, we're doing it again!

Fancy yourself a Doctor Who nut? Or maybe you have that Phoenix Wright x Star Trek tale you've been working on day and night. If it's fan fiction and it's science fiction, give it here, Malfoy!

Tevun-Krus #122 - Synchronicity

Synchronicity is defined by Psychology Today as the following: "A phenomenon in which people interpret two separate—and seemingly unrelated—experiences as being meaningfully intertwined, even though there is no evidence that one led to the other or that the two events are linked in any other causal way."

Ahem. In the case of this issue, however, what if they were related? You would of course be answering the question from a science-fiction angle.

Tevun-Krus #123 - The Mandela Effect

It was always Berenstain, goddamnit!

Sorry.

The Mandela Effect is described by TechTarget as "an observed phenomenon in which a large segment of the population misremembers a significant event or shares a memory of an event that did not actually occur."

But what if it did?

Naturally we ask that you approach this subject from a sci-fi angle!

Tevun-Krus #124 - SportPunk Game 2: The Rematch!

Time for the long-awaited SportPunk rematch, 'troopers! Game 1 was all the way back in 2017, with TK45.

To put it simply, SportPunk is what happens when society becomes so fixated on sport that nothing else matters. Sport is life. Megacorporations spend lots of money on improving athletes beyond normal human capabilities. Life-forms from alien worlds are taken and used in cruel bloodsports.

It's your story! Just keep it sporty!

Tevun-Krus #125 - Post–Time Travel

Post–Time Travel? That's right, 'troopers! Consider this a sort of sequel to TK14, the one and only Time Travel issue of Tevun-Krus!

We've all heard about someone saying they'd go back in time and strangle baby Hitler, or they'd help the dinosaurs survive the Chicxulub asteroid (see the image below)...

But what would the result actually be?

We ask all you Mothertroopers that question!

Tevun-Krus #126 - Clones

Picture this:

A mysterious North Korean bunker is discovered to be filled with Kim Jong Un clones!

As terrifying as that sounds, that's not the only possibility with this theme. Imagine if you had a serious accident of some kind and you were able to replace your own body with a new one!

Now this brings up major conversations about identity. Are we more than a sack of cells? If we make a perfect copy of you, will it really be you?

Ooorah!

Tevun-Krus #127 - Best of '24

Surprise!

Tevun-Krus #128 - A Very Merry Spunky Heroine Christmas

Spunky Heroine? Remember way back when we did that? Well, it's coming back with a Christmassy twist. Spunky Heroine is more of a descriptor or a trope than an actual subgenre. It's about badass, plucky girls or women, often with an overly healthy dose of snark and/or crass humour.

Next Christmas it's blaster pistols for everyone!
