Y'all, this event was one of the coolest things I've ever seen! Thousands of reenactors and spectators turned out and man was it fun! I wasn't able to attend all of the side events like the train battle and farewell adress, but I got plenty of material to share with y'all. Speaking of which, since I like you all so much, I gotz da videos this time wooooooo! \(*-*)/

Now then, let's get this going, shall we?

An army of over 300 Rebs from the 1st and 16th Texas marches out of town. Locals cheer, but a small Federal unit starts to boo. They quickly stop though, cause there's only like 25 of them.

Not long after, the Federals arrive and the commander places the town under his command.

Buuut, he ends up getting dropped by a little girl, she looked around 11 or 12, who had been concealing a revolver.

Then, a second Rebel regiment marched into town, dividing their regiment in two and sending one along the Yankee's right flank. A skirmish ensues.

Eventually, the Federals were driven out of town and into the bottom lands, but the Rebs were right on their tail.

Suddenly, the Yankees haulted their retreat and an artillery duel ensued.

And then my phone died XD.

Basically what happened next is the Yankees pushed the Rebs back into the town, but weren't able to break through the town's defenses.

I really hope y'all liked the pictures and videos. I gotta say though, if you ever have a chance to go to one of these, DO IT!

The booming of the guns, the ground shaking with each cannon shot, and the smell of the pouder. It's all so exhilarating!!

I'm considering buying some gear and joining in the fun for next year's reenactment!
