The discourse around the Team Peeta/Team Gale thing online is so bizarre. I am the biggest Peeta fan you will ever meet and he is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time, but all of the hatred toward Gale as a character makes absolutely no sense to me. Gale annoyed me a lot in the books and in the movies, but to be honest, Katniss annoyed me more than he did. (No hate to Katniss, I still love her). But all of this "Prim reaper" nonsense about Gale and painting him as a horrible person is ridiculous because he isn't a horrible person at all. I understand that a lot of it is a joke, but it just gets annoying to me sometimes.
  It does a disservice to Peeta's character, too. He's not just some angel baby who needs to be rescued all the time and he's not there just to be compared to Gale. Peeta is a heroic character with a tragic past and he is just as human as any of the other characters. Let him be human.
