Summer shines beautifully on the rivers,
Snaking shadows of canopies dance coyly,
Teasing the tiny waves of snow and silver,
Spreading happy warmth on every face.

Life goes on like the waves; rising to fall,
Harder it gets and so does the pain befall,
But one day the merry will return bolder,
To burst things that scared you colder.

After every autumn, ain't there a spring,
Pain in me ends in your heart swing,
Sing me faith and wrap me with hopes,
Let's face the darks till...

BANG... BAN... BANG- BANG!

The sudden whacky knocks made the calligraphy quill to dribble out of his grip.

Can't I relax on my own any day? Dear life get me some discounts of your not so perfect timings! Cussing between his gritted teeth, he closed his dear diary in a blink. He pulled his chestnut wood tripod stool from his polished writing desk to walk towards the oxide metal door with erratic clumsy steps.

"Bro, what takes you so long? It's just dusk! I know you aren't soaked in your boo bear slum-"

A sudden sweep of peppermint-scented air howled amidst the clearing.

"Aye aye, Mr Notorious Prince. Save up the drama. Your girl isn't nearby." He made the door gawk wide while retreating into his dimly lit antic shell.

"Ah, the peppermints are too heavy today. Seems like someone is so intense!" Hugh limped over the bronze velvet diwan with his legs crossed.

"Hmm, maybe!" A thin sigh escaped his smiling fleshy lips.

"But why her? She seems too dark and ambushing. And look at you, my gentle geese. Woo-hoo don't become her voodoo do-"

"One more word and you will be doomed! I won't pick paperweights all the time."

"Man, that was heavy enough to bruise me for god sake! Oh saint Aaron, now would you mind less harm?" Hugh compressed his bruising in his left palm while sipping some air to calm down his alarming nerves.

"Shoot! Let me get some camphor."

"Are you out of mind? I'm allergic to camphor and this isn't a new piece of news to you!" His caution made him fidget in confusion but in a moment he began his hunt.

"Camphor isn't right!"

"But yellow flower works. Stop shrieking now." He pulled out a kit box and took an amber ampule. With the heavy tap with a metal piece, he soaked the golden yellow extract in a cotton fluff and wrapped it in his arm with an adhesive tape.

"I'm so sorry Hugh. I... I didn't-"

"So love it is!" Hugh's sudden words made his honey eyes dazzle in bewilderment under the amber lamps. He gulped down his lumps while shades of crimson painted his pale temples.

"Stop being transy!" Hugh patted his forearms, making him jerk.

"Maybe..."

In a moment, his pupils wandered to the closed diary sitting stilled over the table at the left corner. But Hugh was too efficient enough not to miss the eerie glance.

"Now I know what kept you occupied!" He jumped out of his relaxing cushions in an attempt to grab the diary. But to his amazement the diary was already floating high, making him decipher Aaron's trick.

"Wait, wait! Was that your confession?" Hugh rubbed his inquisitive itchy palm.

"Why would you care too much?" He whispered while keeping his palms raised to float his secrets.

"You write okayish verses and that's why I was here. Now that you have written something for your lady, it will help me judge you." He tossed his little fingers towards him.

"Judge me for?" He downed his palms, letting the diary rest in inertia.

"Why should I tell? You will do anything for me right. You gave me your word of friendship." His brow twitched with his voice.

"And why should I care?" Aaron crossed his arms with a smirk.

"Okay! Look, I'm not in love or something but I want her to be happy again. She has cried enough-"

"Yeah yeah! Enough to have a place in your teeny tiny heart." Aaron winked while shrinking his thumb and pointers close enough.

"Oh my! Haahaa! Love. Isn't. My. Kind!"

"Does that mean you will blush while you see any woman's eyes? You were weird. Above that, you called her your princess the very moment you saw her." Aaron crossed his pointers with a serious tone.

"Oh come on, get some sense. I was being flattery that day." Hugh shrugged.

"Aish! Here is the pathetic prince who ignores what his heart desires." A clatter of claps followed suit.

"So do you."

"Hey hey. Mora is something special to me."

"That can't be a confession. Eir to is special to me but that doesn't-"

"Oh my my! It's too pleasing to see two tender peacocks fighting over the new monsoon rain. Ahh! How speedy the years have flown by!"

The sudden comment made the boys hush. They bobbed their head to the sides to see the teal blue eyes glint their lamp pecked gentle glitters.

"Mom!" The guys cried in unison.

"Lessen the efforts. I know what is the problem with you two." With her black mat porcelain steaming cup adorned with golden cracks, she walked in.

"Mom that's not right for you to overhear us." Hugh crossed his palms.

"Neither it is right for you to deny what you seek with all your bone."

"Mom don't get me in the drama. I know what's on your mind."

Galene sipped her cup and lifted her brows.

"Okay, I know you liked Eir the moment she was here." Hugh pressed his lips thin.

"Haahaa! From when did you start dreaming things?" Galene couldn't hold her laughter back.

"Wha-! So you didn't like her?"

"A mother loves every child. And I'm a mother." She winked while resting the cup down on the table near the diary.

"Careful! There is some serious business in there." Hugh's cry irked Aaron.

"Yeah, I know. Aaron that was one good verse. Romantic and antique, so much you," Galene rubbed her slender fingers over the diary.

Aaron's rigid stares made the other two cackle up.

"So is that enough? Or is that too shifty?" Aaron licked his lips while ruffling his auburn curls.

"Do you both think impressing a woman is enough to win her?"

"First impression is the key right?" Aaron tossed his crossed palms.

"But there is something more to it. If you want to be remembered just the prints of you in their life is enough. But if you want them to stay along you need to..." She chose Aaron first.

"To give more gifts and surprises?"

Galene bit her lip to gulp down his innocence. She then looked at Hugh who pretended to be thinking harder.

"Ain't he, right? Dad does get you surprises to keep you smiling. Maybe frequent flowers?" Hugh smiled a victorious grin.

"Flowers and surprises? Too dreamy and flattery. But you guys have no idea of a relationship. Ugh!" She massaged her temple to calm down her bothering nerves.

"So?"

"The key to having a good relationship is talking! Understanding each other." The boys threw gawking stares between each other and her.

"Guys, listen. The hormones may get you cheesy tickles but care and respect for each other's diversity and being inclusive is what a relationship is all about. Talk and know each other. Then decide. After all, love is a path which is a destiny to eternal happiness and liberation." Her explanation had clouded their tender heart, if not for them why would their skin look flushed and pale.

"So it's all about talking?" Hugh tried to summarize.

"Converse. Comprehend and communicate. That's the real win. That's why I and your dad ended up here." A strong smile toddler on her lips.

"Okay, mom. Now I know what I must do." Aaron raised his thumb.

"And you sweetheart?" Hugh responded alike his friend.

"Good now that you understand, bundle up the naughtiness and try to be a man. Oh wait, some humour and romance is a must though." Galene chuckled as she saw the clear winds get hazy in their minds.

"Mom! You are too villainous!"

"Not so-" Before she could surmise, they heard the bell alarm. The rising echoing whines indicated what would be the only possibility.

Gulping down the haze and maze, she said, "Guys get the girls here. We are being called from Aetherth."

"What.. could it be?" Aaron spoke in a broken tone.

"Conclude not until we confront! Get them here the soonest possible." With that, she closed her eyes, wishing the fate to be a little more benignant than before.

Hope the tender love fight was apt in insight. I wanted this take to be light and more character-oriented. I felt from here we get all the character base in good shape. May the champagne and cheers load me. We are halfway through the tale officially.

Now get set for more action and little romance. I wish to spill a spoiler here. If you are an ardent mythical animal lover, then now is the time to keep reading the tale.

Let's muse on something interesting today.

.Ø. What is love according to you? Let me know the roots in the comments.

Until next time,
