It was quiet. Only the painful sounds of sobs was heard, a woman stood in the middle of the road, a baby in her hand. Both of them crying.

The woman stared as the bloody man infront of her smiled, a pained smile. He kissed the woman's forehead as he caressed the baby's head, slowing down his cries.

The man then slowly backed away, the baby crying once again, the woman then ran away, tears falling down her eyes as multiple gunshots disturbed the silent night.

She heard footsteps following her, she knew it was too late. She then saw a basket and made a decision.

She rushed towards it, laying her baby inside the basket filled with fruits, her baby won't stop crying, so- She hummed a familiar song before kissing him in the forehead.

The woman then slowly backed away, tears fell down her eyes as she ran towards the opposite direction, she ran as far away until she reached a dead end.

The men cornered her, guns pointed towards her. This was it, she knew it was the end.

So, with a sad smile- She closed her eyes and whispered "I love you,"

"John André."

Bang.

The courtroom echoed with screams, after Zylie pulled the trigger- The guards immediently tackled her into the ground.

Sirens could be heard from the outside, after the gunshot was fired- Angelica immediently called an ambulance.

André was frozen in his spot, Philip still in his arms, his shoulder wouldn't stop bleeding, pain spread throughout his body.

It was the first time he got shot, heck- It was the first time he took a bullet for someone, a stranger, a child.

He wouldn't normally do this, but a forgotten memory made him did it. He wasn't exactly sure which memory anymore but he just felt the need to protect him.

A tear fell down his eye, but not because of the pain, but because of something... Different.

"M-Mr..?" He quickly came back to his senses and rubbed the tear, he grabbed Philip's shoulders to look at him, only to be greeted with a tear stained face filled with guilt and shock.

"H-hey kid.." He grinned at him, trying to reassure him "I-I'm alright, just a s-shot, no b-biggie.."

"B-but.. B-but.." Philip looked like he was gonna burst into tears "Shh.. I'm fine, i'm fine.." He smiled "Atleast I-I won the case.."

"P-promise me something, k-kid.." André said breathlessly "P-promise me y-you won't a-allow yourself t-to be hurt b-by anyone a-anymore.."

Philip hicupped "I-I promise." He said, André smiled, and as he fell unconscious onto Philip's shoulder, he whispered.

"G-good.."

The paramedics finally arrived, just in time. The medics quickly put André in a stretcher and rushed him to the hospital.

The judge announced Zylie as guilty, and Alexander was free to go. But the only problem left was Philip.

They planned for Philip to be taken to an orphanage but John quickly refused. He told them that he was willing to adopt the poor boy but Alexander was against the idea, and the jury was too- Since John wasn't in the right age to adopt someone.

But John's defeated face made Alexander think otherwise. So, with a heavy heart- He adopted Philip, but in one condition.

The condition was just a joke to Alexander honestly, but John took it seriously. The condition was only between the two of them but it was embarrasing enough, and John's flustered face made Alexander's heart beat.

Then, Zylie was taken to jail, Phlip had a new home, Alexander was proved to be innocent, everything was okay.

So, Case closed.
