- IF I'M THE ONLY ONE THAT YOU'RE CHOOSIN',
AM I YOUR FAVORITE DRUG YOU'VE BEEN USIN'?
(eleven, khalid)

Solar pants, "Y-You have to help me.."

Thorn blows on his freshly manicured nails, lifting his hand to see it in a better light. Sunlight streamed through the window, making his features stand out more, illuminated by the rays. Yaya and Ying stopped filing his other hand, staring at Solar's sudden appearance.

His eyes fluttered close, "Help? From me?"

"Yeah," His golden eyes shone with worry, "There's this rumor going around the school." He saunters in comfortably, "I think that they might know too." He beckons his chin at both girls, "It's about this creature called an Oui- Ouipa, Oiua.."

"Oiwa." Thorn says curtly, enjoying his bask in the sun.

"Ah, yes that." Solar nods up-and-down several times.

"Oh!" Ying speaks up, looking at Yaya and nudging her softly with her elbow, "We know that gossip! It's really famous right now.." She visibly shudders, "And scary too!"

The apparition puts his cheek on his hand, "I'm listening."

HEY, HAVE YOU HEARD?
[ collective giggling ]
IN THE FAR END ON THE FIRST FLOOR..
NEAR THE LOCKERS,

[ panicked screaming, crying ]
THERE RESIDES AN UGLY WOMAN SPIRIT.
HER NAME, IS OIWA.
"p-please.. leave me alone..!"
SHE IS SAID TO HAVE A DEFORMED FACE,
A BODY LIKE A SLUG- ONE OF HER EYES
POPPED OUT OF THEIR SOCKETS..

[ more giggling, blood splattering on the wall ]
OH? SO YOU HAVEN'T HEARD..?
PEOPLE KEEP ON DISAPPEARING.
IT'S SAID THAT IF YOU OPEN THE FOURTH
LOCKER FROM THE FARTHEST END..
[ the sound of a woman singing ]

SHE WILL FIND YOU, AND KILL YOU.
[ soft flute song in the background ]
AND IF YOU EVER HEAR THE SOUND OF A
FLUTE.. RUN. RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN,
AND DON'T LOOK BACK.

"and what happens if you do?"
[ shocked gasp, hand slamming on table ]
WELL, THAT WOULD BE UNFORTUNATE..
FOR SHE IS KNOWN TO BE MERCILESS, KILLING
MEN AS HER LOVER ONCE POISONED HER.

"Really?" The sun's setting by now, outside. All three humans inclined their heads, and Thorn inflates his cheeks. The Oiwa he knew wouldn't act as reckless at what they told him. If the rumor was true, then it might be more serious than he thought.

"Might as well check it out then." He exhales. Although he had other work to do, he's bothered by this issue in particular- mainly because it's a large threat to the balance bestowed upon the school by the Seven Wonders. Ignoring it would mean flailing his job.

"Great." Solar grins, "Either way, you have to."

Thorn scowls, "You're talking an awful lot." He slides his thumb over his now-glossy nails and springs from the chair, walking over to the boy. Solar gulps as Thorn's breath tickles his ears, as they were standing so close together. "Don't forget about the bet we had."

"Y-Yeah.." Solar takes a large heave, "Yeah."

Smirking, Thorn passes him and dismisses the two girls, "You guys are off the hook for today! Isn't that great~?" They both stand up, excited. "Oh, be careful when you walk home," He chuckles, reverting to his playful side again, "Or maybe.. the Oiwa will find you.."

"Hiih!" They screech, hugging each other.

"You're scaring them." Solar facepalms himself. Sometimes, he couldn't understand how a supernatural could be so childish and yet, have control over the school in some way. "Come on," He offers his hand to them. "I'll take you guys downstairs."

"Y-You don't have to!" Ying quips, "W-We'll be fine.."

"Fine?" Thorn cackles, "You girls look so deathly pale!"

The other boy rolls his eyes, "Ignore him." He puts his hands on the girls' shoulder and drives them towards the doorway. He waves at Thorn as he steps out, who watches them with his mischievous grin. "See you tomorrow then."

"You girls walk behind me, alright?" Solar nods at the two girls, who gulps at his message but follows regardless. He himself was nervous too; but at least, he could die knowing that he's done something good. "Be careful, and try not to make a single sound."

Step by step, they proceeded to the lower level. Although they knew that the Oiwa was most likely to strike at the other building, it really is better to be safe than sorry.

Ying and Yaya are soundless; only a fragment of their breaths can be heard as they went down to the 5th floor. None of them has ever scoured the entire building before, seeing how it was utterly pointless due to the amount of levels.

The 5th floor seem to be no different than the 6th, there were just rows of classes alongside the wall. Solar turns, walking round and headed downstairs again. So far, so good. They haven't encountered a single problem.

Or so, they thought.

Eventually they got to the lower ground, and the lobby was just in sight. Solar faces them, "Time for you girls to go home then. I'll walk you out to the front gate."

Upon reaching the main entrance of the school, they waved at each other goodbye. He watches as they disappear into the night, hand-in-hand.

Solar turns around, only to meet a black, dark object slicing through the air his way. "What the-" His heart pumps fast, and he was able to avoid it by dipping to the right. He steers out of the way, jumping two blocks back.

"W-What the hell is that?!"

A large, ink-like creature was ahead of him, about the size of a normal human. Except that instead of limbs, it was replaced by a globby, ink-ish substance. On what was supposed to be the face is not what he expected.

Oiwa! It clicks to him, and Solar grits his teeth. With its colorless, white deformity and a missing eye in the large hole, it seemed no different than a regular person. He couldn't run too; there was nothing he could do.

"MOVE!" A sudden yell snaps him out of his thoughts, and his face turns pale white as he sees a dark blob descending, spot on his head. He couldn't move. His mouth became dry, and he was trembling all over.

He squeezes his eyes shut, will this be the end of me?

Apparently not. There was no pain; nothing. He opens his eyes to see the Oiwa scratching away on the ground, a part of its body separated from another. It seems to be reaching for it.

Solar gulps. Someone just saved him.

"Oi." He turns to see Thorn, standing next to him with what looks like a knife in his hand. "You lost the bet." He licks his lips with a grin, "Any last words?"

"Dang." Solar says, "We just started."

A loud boom shook the ground, and Solar shields himself against the dusty wind. He coughs, feeling sand and dirt entering his lungs.

"Hey kid," His attention diverts to the particular green-eyed apparition, who's places a hand on his shoulder. Almost annoyedly, he says, "You just love to attract trouble, don't you?"

"I-I.." He was too shocked to say anything. His life just flashed before his very own eyes, and Thorn's blaming him for all this? "I'm just being human.."

"Yeah, right." Thorn replies, "Now stand there and be a good boy, will you?" He pats Solar's head.

Before Solar could answer, though- he's already on the run. He charges at the roaring Oiwa with his knife, leaping high into the air.

"I'm not a dog.." Solar mumbles under his breath.

Thorn snorts and lowers his body, missing the monster's tail by an inch. How he manages to fight and stay sarcastic at the same time- Solar doesn't know. But there's one thing for sure, and that's that.

He's just a nuisance. He wouldn't be of any help, even if he tried, because all in the end, like he said..

He's just human.
