36. Vers Beaucoup — Forget my Name

When I'm to die entombed hereby within your eye,
Do not deny, nor rage, nor fight against the sight
With all your might, for that would be a pain to me;
But, pray, live free and sorrow not upon my lot.

Cry not a tear, my lonely dear, eschewing cheer
For gloom and drear, nor taint the air of loving care
In such a rare and lovely face with my disgrace;
Leave not a trace of my own death upon your breath.

Pray, leave the smart that breaks your heart so wide apart;
I bid you start a life of hope with greater scope,
Not merely cope, for you must give the time to live
And be alive, that life is still a blooming hill.

Live on and know—where'er you go—that every woe
You did forgo releases all that bitter gall
From your recall; and if the sound of it compound
And have you bound and bring you blame, forget my name.

(To be continued...)

Line 3: b-c-c-
Line 4: c-d-d
