60. Quatern — Secret Friend

Come share with me this fair delight
Of glowing fairy dust and light,
   For into the woods I've ventured forth
   'Neath underbrush for all its worth.

"All living things from black to white,
Come share with me this fair delight,"
   I say upon the springtime air;
   Then something comes from over there,

Whereat I cast my wond'ring eyes
Upon my friend in her disguise.
   "Come share with me this fair delight?"
   I say unto my playful sprite.

She then appears in fairy dress
And looks upon what I possess:
   "I must invite your friends tonight:
   Come share with them this fair delight."

(To be continued...)
