Tommy's POV

A year later, June 1666.

I was practicing my magic in the garden, when I heard a carriage with horses pull up to the house. I stopped what I was doing and crept towards the front of the house, peaking around the corner I saw a gentleman in a uniform with a scroll in his hand reading out to Ranboo. These are the words that I was able to make out.

" Are you Ranboo, sir?"

" Yes that's me, what's the matter" I could hear Ranboo say in a calm tone which started to quiver. His feet crunched the tiny rocks  on the ground.

The gentleman opened the scroll, clearing his throat, which followed up with a few words " His Majesty, the Emperor Philip, has required your presence at the Palace as quickly as possible for a medical emergency, if failing to do so a fine of 10,000 shall be received." The gentleman finished, peaking around the corner more to see Ranboo, who practically had a shocked expression on him, his mouth agape and eyes looking helpless.

" Hold on- How about the royal doctors? Aren't they fit for the job?" Ran questioned folding his arms as if he were to radiate any dominant presence. The guards on the horses looked impatience as the horses started to move and fidget " If they were fit for the Job, you wouldn't have been called. An alchemist is needed and you're the only one closest to the town." The male spoke, Ranboo looked agitated as I stepped back in shock, hearing a snap underneath my foot, I quickly pressed my back hardly up against the wall. " Who's there?" The male shouted, putting the scroll away and reaching for the sword in his belt, " Woah, Sir calm down its okay, it's just my - my son." Ranboo stuttered.

Son.

I froze. My heart fluttered and beaten faster on the sound of that word. Everything around me sounded so vulgar and echoed before being hit back with reality. "Tom, it's alright you can come out ." Ranboo said delicately as I shimmered over to him, the so called gentleman that I thought he was, looked ultimately puzzled. " Right. Well, I'm afraid you won't be able to bring your son to this urgent task. What could be possibly done is a maid to be sent here to look after him for some time. " He spat out as he glared at me, making me hug closer to Ranboo. " Really? I would be so grateful to the emperor if this could be arranged soon... by the way, when does the Emperor need me to be there?" Ranboo questioned in relief, as he got his hand off my back that comforted me. Giving me the urge to grab his hand for more comfort, but I resisted the impulse.

" It would be best if you arrive at the palace tomorrow before sunset. Or perhaps even better today before sundown, the maid will be sent by tonight if this was the case." My heart felt crushed and squeezed tightly, as I gripped Ranboo's cloak desperately, giving him the puppy looks as to not leave me again. He looked ultimately torn, glancing back and forth between the guard and me. As he finally decided to kneeled down, grabbed my hands and looked me in the eyes with his " Listen, Tom I will be back in a few hours okay?" He  mumbled as he proceeded to grasp my body and squish me into a hug. My eyes, pricked as a solemn tear fell down my cheek; my body looked calm compared to how tangled my mind was at this exact moment.

I nodded into his shoulder as he got up and faced back to the man, " I will be able to attend by this evening, will a carriage be sent?" He pondered, as the male gave a nod, giving me glares between words and pauses. He mounted the carriage and road off leaving a final message

" You better arrive quickly."
