Caylin woke up on a fine February morning. However, today was no ordinary day. Today was her birthday! She leaped out of bed and got ready in no time flat. She ran up to Kaylee's room (Kaylee still hadn't moved out) and saw Kaylee walking out.

"Kaylee, do you know what day it is?" Caylin asked.

"Sure do," Kaylee replied. "It's your day to clean the bathrooms!"

"No way," Caylin said, walking away.

That's weird, Caylin thought. She forgot my birthday. I guess I'll call Matt.

When she called, she got sent to voicemail. Makes sense, Caylin thought. He's usually busy at his job.

She tried calling Evan, but he didn't know, either. Ethan didn't have a phone (he was a hobo, after all) and Kage barely knew his own birthday.

Caylin was sad and frustrated. Nobody seems to remember my birthday, she thought. Then she remembered something. Tyler will remember my birthday, she thought. He always remembers my birthday.

Caylin called Tyler. He picked up the phone. "Hey, Ty," Caylin said.

"Happy birthday, Caylin!" Tyler replied.

"You remembered!" Caylin exclaimed.

"How could I forget?" Tyler said. "You're my best friend!"

Well, atleastTylerremembered, Caylin thought.

"I'm hungry," Tyler said. "You want to go somewhere for lunch?

"Sure!" Caylin replied. She got in Tyler's car and they left.

Kaylee looked down from the second level and saw Caylin leave. She whipped out her phone and called Matt. He answered immediately.

"Matt, she's gone," Kaylee reported.

"Preparations are a go, then?" Matt asked.

"Yep," Kaylee replied. "Call up the others and get Ethan. I'll start preparations here."

"Will do," Matt said. He hung up and went out. They were throwing a surprise party for Caylin, and everyone but her was in on it. Kaylee began preparations.

*Meanwhile, at McMario's, the somewhat high-quality restaurant that sometimes uses real ingredients...*

"Hmm, this food is pretty good," Caylin said.

"They must have used the real stuff this time," Tyler said. He looked up. She was not laughing. Tyler had a bit of a sixth sense: he could tell what was on your mind just by looking into your eyes. One glance into Caylin's eyes, and he could tell something was wrong.

"What's wrong?" Tyler asked.

"Everybody forgot my birthday!" Caylin exclaimed. "You're the only one that remembered!"

"Don't worry," Tyler said. "I'm sure they'll remember. I have to use the washroom. I'll be right back."

Tyler dashed into the washroom. Once he was in, he whipped out his phone and dialed Kaylee.

*Back at Caylin's house...*

"Tyler, the decorations aren't done yet!" Kaylee yelled. Kage was trying to hang a birthday banner. Ethan was burning the cake, as usual. Matt was doing random stuff and Evan was helping him.

Kage fell from the ladder again. "Gotta go," Kaylee said.

*Back at McMario's...*

Tyler finally got out of the bathroom. The two finished their lunch and headed out somewhere else. They decided to go to the park. When they got there, they sat on a nearby bench. Tyler decided to take a short stroll. Once he was sure he was out of earshot, he called Kaylee again.

*Back at Caylin's house...*

Everything was finally ready. Kaylee cheered a bit and said, "OK, Ty, you can come back with Caylin now." The others were lying around, waiting for the two to come back.

*Back at the park...*

"Hey, Caylin," Tyler began. "I have a great idea! Let's go home and do something else!"

"Sounds good to me," Caylin said. They leaped into Tyler's car and headed for Caylin's house.

*5 minutes later, back at Caylin's house...*

Tyler pulled the car into the driveway. The two went in the door. It was completely dark. Suddenly, the lights came on and everyone jumped out, yelling, "Surprise!" Caylin was overjoyed. She went in and had an unforgettable party.
