Bad Feelings.

They're the worst.

You wake up with your stomach in knots.

Your head screaming at you to stay hidden under your covers.

Every ounce of your being telling you, yelling at you, that something will go wrong.

Something will fail.

And you will be left in shambles.

All you can do is hope that the feeling will go away.

Hope it's just warning you that you'll slip and fall in a puddle.

But no matter how hard you try and ignore it.

The attempts to joke in front of it and hope no one can see the rising anxiety in your eyes.

The way you gasp and your heart drops whenever something unexpected happens.

"Mission -" There's no way you can listen to the instructions of your duties. You can feel the stress and anxiousness clawing at your back and squeezing your neck.

You pray and pray that your friends don't notice your paling skin as they begin to suit up to do what they are responsible for.

You barely even notice how drastic this situation is. But by the way that the Justice League gets ready too, you nearly start to shake.

"GO!" Everyone screaming around you.

Everyone running as the problem escalates.

Your in a panic, unaware of how much is going on.

Your punching and dodging, pushing people away so they don't get hurt.

Watching everyone as your hands get clammy and knees slowly stop working.

And then there it is.

The reason you woke up with butterflies inside and sweat dripping down your nose.

You get to watch in slow motion, why you were so panicky today.

You watch, you stare, you can't look away.

"BATMAN!" You scream and scream, trying to do something. But the foe is to strong, no one can stop them unless drastic measures are taken.

You watch other mentors place explosives around the building. Hoping to terminate the threat in one single go.

They set the timer to ten seconds, making everyone sprint for the door if they want to survive.

But you don't want to run away. You want to run to your mentor who has stopped breathing, a hole where his chest should be.

You can't move your legs. You fall to the ground, eyes stuck open in shock.

Your friend runs to you, shaking you and yelling that you've gotta get up.

But you can't do it. You can't take your eyes off your mentor, your friend, your dad. As he lay on the ground forgotten and left behind.

You barely recognize your best friend flinging you over his shoulder, making a dash for the exit. All you can do is look behind him at the body that lay on the ground.

Frozen.

Shocked.

Panicked.

All while feeling like your drowning in unreadable emotions.

Everyone crowds around you. They try and reassure you that'll be alright.

But you still can't hear it them, or feel their hugs. You just sit there, wide-eyed, unaware of everything.

You can't feel the tears as they roll down your face. The only thing on your mind is the way he fell to the ground, blood pooling around him in seconds.

You can't even remember going back to the base, or how you got in your room.

But you start to feel again.

You start becoming aware again.

The shock that was saving you from the pain, fading.

You slide down to the ground by the door and huddle yourself into a ball.

Finally feeling everything.

And it hurts.

Its excruciating.

Its hits you hard and fast and doesn't leave.

You scream and start balling into your knees.

The feeling was right.

You should've listened to your head this morning.

Because that feeling this morning warned you.

Its screamed at you that nothing good would come out of this day.

And you knew it.

You knew it.

It told you.

The bad feeling told you.
