addie's guide to life

     ADELAIDE SWEENEY HAS HAD HER LIFE PLANNED OUT SINCE SHE WAS SEVEN. Like most girls her age, she had her wedding dress picked out and ready at the bright young age of eight. By the age of ten, she had a few house listings lined up as if they would still be on the market by the time she was old enough and financially stable to buy it. She had a timeline of when she would meet the boy of her dreams, and then at which age her first child would come along. It all fitted perfectly.

     Addie has a guide to her life. One that she will heed by until her line of events was completed, along with her well-lived life.

     Her guide which her parents had named "Addie's Book Of Life"  was composed of a long list of tips and jottings that she had collected and believed would be useful in her later life. Little additives that were most recent were to do with her school life, the teacher's pet peeves, and the student's personal complaints that Adelaide wanted to avoid doing.

An example or two or three ━━

（ the cold makes her nose run. ）

（ the Ravenclaw girl is sweet and all, but the sugar and cherry combo is about the only thing to keep the demon inside at bay. ）

     The book is so old it is now decorated with coffee rings that had seeped deep into the pages. Multiple sheets of paper were soaked and dried to a crinkly texture that made a noise when it was turned. And the corners had been folded multiple times so much so, that the indents can't be reversed.

     Addie abides by her little phrases of advice. And she believes them to be sacred words that she was proud to have written.

     THERE WERE MANY A THING that Dolores Umbridge opted to change during her time at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was clear to the student body that the pink witch cared not one bit about any of their well-beings of success in domestic fields in their futures after Hogwarts, and yet, it was Dolores Umbridge that hired Rita Skeeter to change just that.

     The Ministry of Magic believed that older teens, that are due to graduate from Wizarding School in a short space of time, needed more experience with life outside of their teenage years.

     The Journalist was therefore enrolled as part of the staff at Hogwarts to ensure that the students in their seventh year, were prepared for all aspects of adult life in the Wizarding World. The main one being parenthood.

     Rita Skeeter imposed the 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝘽𝘼𝘽𝙔 𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙅𝙀𝘾𝙏 ─ a way for teen witches and wizards to experience the ordeals of being a parent. In pairs of two, they would each be given an infant simulator (a child's doll that the staff had charmed) that was so life-like it was almost scary, of which they would have to take care of as if it was real.

     The aim of the project was to strengthen the teens parenting skills, along with the struggles of balancing school life and being a parent. But many students simply saw it as a competition rather than a life skill. It was a scoring system ─ a contest - in the form of a crying, time-consuming bundle of shit. If it came to failure in making the baby stop crying, points would be inevitably deducted. If not fed at the right time - points would be deducted. And a variety of small chores were marked due to how well they were executed.

     George Weasley was far from ready to take care of a child. The idea of feeding it, changing it, burping it, and any other requirements in parenthood scared him. He believed the concept to be completely irrational and unnecessary to make teens do something like this. He had better things to do with his time and a baby? Not on his list of priorities.

     Adelaide "Addie" Sweeney was intrigued by the idea of becoming a mother at such a young age. The competition was just an added drive to make sure she did it well. More notes to add to her book of life, that she could refer to when her time came to be a mother. She was very much unsure of Rita Skeeter's intentions, and had a severe hatred towards Dolores Umbridge, but ready for the challenge nonetheless.

     A good match, right?

     When George Weasley posed as an obstacle in her well-thought-out scheme, Addie made sure to make a note to herself in her big book of life ━
