Doc sighed and pushed his hands into his pockets. "Look. Apsin. Your mother feels it's time for you to leave, and as your Doctor, as well as your friend, I think it'd be best if you got back to your normal life."

He sat down on the edge of his desk, pushing aside the new evaluation papers, fidgeting with a wispy strand of greying hair. "Seriously. I believe you'll be fine. You've been sober for how long now?  A whole year."

I nodded, giving him a weak smile.

"Great. Then what are we waiting for?"

I shrugged, the heaviness of the 5 minute session baring it's teeth down on me, crushing my bones and splattering my guts all over the pristine white walls.

I stood to my feet and Doc put his hand on my shoulder. Shocking, considering the very strict no touching policy here.

"This will be good for you. Just learn to make good choices. Don't make the wrong friends. You've been gone for a year. Make it a good comeback."

Good choices.

I rubbed my nose and nodded at him, mustering a bigger smile for his sake. "Right."
