A radio crackled to life with the sound of a muffled static-y voice "Good morning, Chicagooooo!" The voice was bright and excited "Before we get into the news, let me tell you the forecast! Today's gonna be in the mid 70s with a low humidity." The voice seems to become quiet as if they were speaking to themself "I know it's humid in here..... (My) balls are practically melting."

"So, you for any plans for this weekend, Y/n?" A young feminine voice asked with interest, it belongs to a young woman with ginger hair and emerald green eyes "No, not really." He replied, his voice was rough as sandpaper, almost as though he hasn't spoke in weeks, which was probably true as he doesn't talk much

"Well, we could always go down to the lake and fish." The woman suggested, smiling brightly "It sounds lovely, Ester. But who else would come?" Y/n asked, genuinely curious as most of the people they knew were busy

"We could always go with Alice." Ester answered, giving a sly smile, resulting Y/n to sigh slightly "She's willing to go anywhere with us, sure. But she's also practically obsessed with me. You sure it's a good idea?" Ester giggled a little, much to the confusion of Y/n

"What's so funny?" He asked before seeing a glimpse of a person in Ester's eyes, he turned around, spotting Alice, who was smirking at him "This was a set-up." He realizes, turning to Ester with a hint of betrayal, before Ester could reply though, the radio grew increasingly static-y, almost as if something was inferring with the signal, causing Y/n to hit it a few times "Damn thing's on the fritz again."

The weather turned violent as massive storm clouds formed, heavy rain pouring down to the Earth "That's weird. Wasn't it supposed to be sunny?" Ester asked, confused about the change in weather, suddenly Y/n grabbed Ester and Alice, leading them deeper into his cabin "Y/n, what's wrong?!" Ester asked, concerned

"I'm not taking any chances. He stopped in front of a massive steel door, almost three feet thick with a handprint sensor, he used the sensor and unlocked the door, revealing a staircase down into what looked like a bunker

"Are you saying they're back?!" Alice asked, visibly frightened yet also protective

"I don't know but I don't want to risk it!" He pushed the girls inside and closed the door behind them, as they continue down the staircase, it becomes obvious Y/n had built a massive underground bunker, the ground then began to shake as a distinct sound emitted in the distance, it was a familiar one that they had hoped they wouldn't hear again

"They're back....." Ester squeaked out, causing Y/n and Alice to hug her

(I hope you enjoy this sneak peek. I originally was gonna name the protagonist Jack but thought Y/n would make it more immersive. I hope I will actually continue this.)
