Backstory: A few hours before Rusty's birth, there was an oil spill fire. When the steel of a passing ship met the flames, some parts turned blue. The ship exploded, and the shards of blue-grey steel fell to the bottom of the sea. There, they combined with the soul and skull of a long "retired" military dog to form Rusty. (His name is Rusty because a drunken man on the shore who spotted his shards before formation recognized it was metal, but couldn't think of what happened which made him illogically conclude that it was rusted.) He still holds a part of the sea that he was born.

Backstory: He narrowly escaped a nuclear explosion in his hometown, but he wasn't spared the consequences of remaining somewhat close. The radiation in the area got into his system, but it affected him in a very strange way... by turning him into a monstrous being and cursing him with a life much longer than it should have been. The radioactive component in his bloodstream also causes him extreme pain from time to time, but he manages to hide it incredibly well.

Backstory: He used to be a regular German Shepherd who was trained to be a police dog, but quickly abandoned this job when his partner was killed in the line of duty. After running for a few days, he was caught and taken to the local animal shelter. He sat for months, waiting for someone to take him home. When the day finally came, he was horrified to learn that the person who had adopted him was a mad scientist, who then performed a series of painful experiments on him, turning him into a monster. In rebellion, he finally managed to escape, killing the scientist in the process.
