|| RIDING TIPS AND ADVICE ||

Horse riding can - is - difficult. You aren't a Grand Prix rider in a week. It doesn't happen with the click of your fingers. It takes time and patience. So here are a few basic tips that you need to know:

1) The Straight Line - Body position is an essential part of riding. You need a straight line from your head, shoulders, hips and heels.

2) Heels down, Hopes up! - Not only is having your heels down a safety precaution, it ensures that your lower leg position is up to standards.

3) Stay Calm - Being tense or upset isn't going to get you anywhere. If you find yourself becoming frustrated, just take a few deep breaths and remember to stay calm and positive.

4) Don't Worry -.. about anyone else! Focus on your riding, and your riding alone. Just because everyone else is doing something, does not mean that you have to follow them. Progress at your own rate.

5) Clear Intentions - Remember to use clear aids when asking your horse to do something. If you confuse your horse, you are more likely to end up on the ground.

6) Have fun! - Riding isn't all serious. Stay happy and keep smiling!

Just some basic tips/advice for any time :)
