Tossing and turning in bed, the crazed Barian Emperor, Vector had trouble sleeping tonight.

~In His Dream~

A woman before him screamed, begging for the Vector to release her arm. Vector only laughed and tightened his gripp on the woman, pulling his sword out of its scabbard.

The woman's eyes widened in fear as she watched the sword be lifted into the air and swung down right into her head. She fell down to her knees.

Her body convulsed for a few seconds then stopped, blooding pooling around her head like a sickening halo.

Vector only laughed at the sight before him. His eyes showing the insanity that caused him to go mad. However, deep inside, the Barian was mourning.

He killed another one.

~Reality~

Rose ran into Vector's room and saw the boy, writhing in his bed like some kind of worm, practically screaming words of gibberish in his sleep. She rushed over to his side and began to shake the boy.

"Wake up, Vector, wake up!" Rose yelled.

Unfortunately, the Barian didn't wake up. No matter how many times Rose shook him or how hard she did, the Barian didn't wake up.

Rose sighed and decided to take more drastic measures. Holding the Barian up with one hand, Rose brought her other hand back and slapped her hand onto Vector's face, the sound of impact echoing throughout the room in the silent night.

Nothing. He still wouldn't wake up. Rose bite her lip and slapped Vector again. Same results. She slapped him again and again and again, but he still wouldn't wake up!

Rose scoffed, "Why won't you wake up?!?" she screamed, shaking the Barian once more.

"I-I'm sorry..." Vector mumbled softly, his voice barely audible. Though you could hardly hear his voice, Rose was able to hear him loud and clear.

The girl sighed and laid Vector back down, stroking his hair. "You've been getting a lot of these lately..." she muttered under her breath.

Rose sat down next to Vector and laid his head on her lap, lightly stroking his hair. She was too lost in thought about what was chasing the boy's nightmares to notice that gradually, the crazed Barian relaxed and fell into a deep, peaceful sleep.

It was still night so Rose was still very tired. Soon her eyelids felt heavy and started closing, snapping open whenever Rose's head bobbed forward.

Eventually Rose gave into sleep and slumped fowward, her eyes closed. Her hair draped down around her face like it was curtains. Little did Rose know that a certain Barian with her was now sound asleep now that she was with him.

~The Morning~

Vector woke up. The moment he opened his eyes he saw Rose's face right above his, making the crazed Barian blush like crazy. He got up, making sure that he didn't wake Rose up in the process then he gently laid the girl down on his bed.

The nightmares stopped somewhere in the middle of the night which confused the Barian. Usually they lasted all night. As the Barian slept, he wondered why they stopped in the depths of his thoughts.

Vector sat down next to Rose, looking down at her with a smile. Now that the Barian was awake, he knew the answer to his question. The answer was right before him, soundly asleep.
