Mark's POV

I sat alone at home. My parents were at work and my siblings were out with friends, so I had nothing to do. I decided to turn on some video games, but I was still extremely bored. I was wandering around Among the Sleep when my phone buzzed.

Hey! I'm going to have some friends over to play games. You wanna join?
-Jackaboy

I smiled at the text, clicked off my phone and stuck it in my pocket. I swung my legs over the edge of my bed and stood up. I ran to the bathroom to fix myself up. I picked up my hair brush and felt my phone vibrate again.

I'll come pick you up if you want?

My smile widened at his offer. I quickly replied and ran to my bedroom.

M
Yeah! Thanks :)

J
No problem! I'll be there in 30 minutes :D

I dug through my drawers for a nice outfit. I found my red flannel and a pair of jeans. It's simple but nice, right?

I changed and turned to the full body mirror on my wall. I jumped back for a second, then I remembered I had dyed my hair bright red. I ran a brush through my hair and floofed it up.

Before I knew it I heard the doorbell ring. I pulled on my shoes and ran to the door. I opened the door to see Jack with a baggy black sweater, ripped jeans, a beanie, and converse. He actually looked really good.

"Hey, new hair." He smiled shyly at me.

"Yeah, I figured it was time for a change." I ran a hand through my hair. "You dyed yours, too." I looked at the little tufts sticking out of his beanie.

"But it's still green..." He looked to his feet.

"I like the green. It looks really nice on you." I stepped out and shut the door behind me. Jack smiled and bit his lip, avoiding my gaze.

"Well, this is my car." It was a little white car, a bit banged up but it was still pretty decent. Jack opened the door for me and let me in. I nodded silently and he shut the door once I was seated. He walked around the front of the car, dragging his hand along the hood. He sat down in his own seat and started the car.

The radio turned on and some rock band started playing. Jack quietly sang along as he drove down my street and turned the corner.

"Hey, what band is this?" I asked after a few moments of silence, trying to start up a conversation.

"Skillet. They're awesome!" Jack said excitedly. We talked about music all the way down to Jack's house, laughing, goofing off, and turning on several different bands.

Finally Jack pulled up to his house. We stepped out of the car and walked up to the door. Jack swung open the door and let me in. He shut it behind me and sat down on the couch.

After a few minutes people started to arrive. Molly, Bob, Wade, and a guy named Felix.

"Hey, Felix!" Jack said when the last person arrived. He gave him a quick fist bump and invited him to sit down. I assumed he was a close friend. "Mark, this is Bob and Wade. They're in a couple of your classes." Jack gestured to two tall guys.

"Yeah, I already know them. We went to middle school together." I chuckled.

"Oh, I didn't know you knew them." Jack's face flushed.

"It's okay. And you are?" I looked at the other guy who had walked in.

"Oh, this is Felix." Jack put a hand on Felix's shoulder. "We've been friends since 5th grade. We're super close friends." Jack smiled at me.

"Hey, Felix." I waved at Jack's friend.

"Okay, who wants to play Werewolf?" Jack stood up and grabbed a small box beside his T.V. Everyone seemed to know Werewolf, and they all got excited.

"What's Werewolf?" I asked. Jack sat down next to me and opened the box. He pulled out some cards with different characters on them.

"You pick a card, and keep it a secret." He pulled up an app on his phone. "This app will tell you what to do and when to do it. It's similar to Town if Salem, but this is so much more fun." He pulled out two cards with werewolves on them. "After everybody wakes up, we work together to find the werewolves. If you're a werewolf, defend yourself. Got it?" Jack pulled out 8 cards and put them face down on the carpet.

"Nope." I laughed.

"Just play the game and figure it out, you doof." Jack rolled his eyes. Everybody grabbed their cards and left 2 in the center. I looked at my card and saw a picture of some kind of witch or whatever labeled 'Seer'. I shrugged and allowed Jack to start the game.

----------

"Werewolves, close your eyes." Jack's phone played out the instructions. I waited for my instructions, but it seemed to be taking a while.

"Masons, wake up and look for the other Mason." I blew a piece of hair out of my face. I had sat with my eyes closed, still unsure of what to do.

"Seer, wake up. You may look at a player's card or two of the center cards." I opened my eyes. Everyone sat absolutely silent. Everyone sat up with their eyes closed or covered their eyes with one hand. I looked over to Jack. Unlike everyone else, he was flat on the floor with his face buried in the carpet. I snickered silently and picked up the two center cards.

'Mason and Villager. I have to remember that.' I thought once I set down the cards.

"Seer, close your eyes." I sat back in my place and shut my eyes.

I drowned out what he was saying. 'Knowing what's in the center will help me eliminate the wolves, right?' I thought. 'I saw a Mason and...' My mind went blank. 'What the hell was the other card?!'

"Mark, open your eyes." Molly laughed.

"Sorry!" I opened my eyes.

"Okay, so I was the only Mason." Jack said and fixed his beanie on his head.

"Yeah, I was the seer and I saw a Mason in the center." I told everyone.

"What was the other card?" Bob asked, looking at me suspiciously.

"Uhh... I don't remember." I scratched the back of my neck.

"It's okay, you can look at it now. It's your first time." Jack smiled at me. I picked up the unknown card and only showed it to myself. 'Villager! That's what it was!'

"Okay, I was the Villager." Wade claimed. I furrowed my brows and looked at him.

"You weren't the Villager! I was the Seer, and there was a Mason and a Villager!" I said accusingly.

"I thought you said you couldn't remember." Wade sneered. Jack looked back and forth from me to Wade. He smirked and raised an eyebrow.

"I think you're lying." Jack said to me.

"What! No, I just forgot!" My voice had gone higher up and I couldn't stop smiling. 'Fuck! It looks like I'm lying!'

"Oh, suuure." Jack teased. "You were just playing off me being a Mason and saying that you forgot the other card. How could you just forget?" Jack accused. I opened my mouth to speak, but he interrupted me. "The two cards are a Mason and a Seer. Mark is a werewolf!" Jack announced to everybody.

"Okay, who's the other wolf?" Molly asked.

"Who cares? Let's just vote. If one werewolf dies their team loses, remember?" Bob said.

"But guys! I'm not a werewolf!" I said defensively. Everyone just smirked and rolled their eyes. "Fine, vote to kill me then check my card and the center cards!" I crossed my arms.

"Okay, everyone vote in 3... 2... 1!" Jack said. Everyone pointed at me.

"Alright, game is over. Mark is dead." Molly laughed. Jack leaned over and grabbed the two center cards. He flipped them over so only he could see them. His eyes went wide and his mouth dropped open.

"Oh shit..." Jack looked at me with the same expression. I flipped over my card so everyone could see the Seer character. Everyone's jaws dropped but then the quickly started laughing.

"Fuck you guys!" I laughed and got up to sit on the couch. Jack just sat silent on the ground with a guilty look on his face.

"Jack, I'm going to order pizza." Molly said and stepped into another room. The others looked from Jack to Molly, shrugged and decided to follow Molly.

Jack set the cards on the ground and stood up. He sat down next to me on the couch with a disappointed look on his face.

"Mark, I'm sorry. It was your first time, I shouldn't have accused you like that." Jack rubbed the back of his neck and looked down at the floor.

"What? Sorry?" My eyes widened. "Jack, it was just a game! You didn't ruin my life!" I laughed. A small smile appeared on Jack's face and he let out a small chuckle.

"Yeah, but I'm still sorry I took advantage of you like that." He looked up at me.

"Hey, it's okay." I pulled Jack in and hugged him tightly. He hugged back.

----------

"Jack, you can kiss my ass!" I laughed after losing another game of werewolf. This time I was actually a werewolf, so there was no guilt involved.

"Gladly." Felix winked at Jack and knudged him. Jack's eyes went as wide as saucers and his face burned bright red.

"Ooh, kinky." Molly laughed at Jack as she took another bite out of her pizza.

"Stooop!" Jack growled through his teeth. His fists tightened and I thought he would do something drastic. Instead, he took a deep breath and loosened his hands. "Haha, very funny guys." Jack smirked and rolled his eyes.

"What's funny?" I said before taking another bite out of my pizza. Jack's eyes fixed on me. Somehow his face turned even redder and his eyes grew even wider.

"Uh, I have to use the restroom." Jack covered his face with his hand and walked to the bathroom. He shut the door and locked it behind him.

Molly and Felix just turned to each other and smiled.
