The group stood at the top, looking down at the melting ice.

"We need to cross now!" Peter said.

"Don't beavers make dams?" Lucy asked.

"I'm not that fast, dear." Beaver said to her.

"Come on!" Peter yelled.

"Wait! Will you just think about this for a minute?" Susan stopped them.

"We don't have a minute!" Rose yelled at her.

"I'm just trying to be realistic." She said.

"No, you're trying to be smart. As usual." Rose said, "we don't need this right now."

Wolves howling caught their attention once more, "now we really should go!" The group rushed down the side of the cliff. Peter stepped onto it but quickly stepped back.

"Wait. Maybe I should go first." Beaver said.

"Maybe you should." Beaver stepped onto the ice and it cracked some more.

"You've been sneaking second helpings, have you?" Mrs. Beaver asked.

"Well, you never know which meal's gonna be your last." He replied, "especially with your cooking." The group cautiously and slowly stepped onto the melting ice.

"If mum knew what we were doing..." Susan stated.

"Mum's not here." Peter retorted.

"Oh, no!" Lucy called. They all looked up and saw the wolves. She felt the necklace heat up against her chest.

"Run!" Peter called out. The wolves climbed down and one took Beaver down. The necklace was now burning her chest.

Peter and Rose pulled out their swords, "put them down, kid." Maugrim said to them. "Someone could get hurt."

"Let him go!" Rose yelled to the wolf.

"Don't worry about me! Run him through!" Beaver yelled.

"Leave now while you can, and your brother leaves with you." Maugrim said.

"Stop, Peter! Stop, Rose! Maybe we should listen to him!" Susan yelled at her older siblings.

"Smart girl." He said condescendingly.

"Don't listen to him! Kill him! Kill him now!" Beaver yelled.

"Oh, come on. This isn't you war. All my queen wants is for you to take your family and go."

"Look, just because some man in a red coat hands you two a sword, it doesn't make you a hero! Just drop it!" Susan yelled.

"Shut up." Rose hissed darkly at her.

"No, Peter, Rose! Narnia needs you!" Beaver yelled. "Gut him while you still have a chance!"

"What's it gonna be, Son of Adam? I won't wait forever. And neither will the river." Maugrim said. Lucy looked up at the frozen waterfall.

"Peter!" She yelled. Water was beginning to burst through the ice.

"Hold on to me!" He called you his siblings. Rose sheathed her sword and grabbed ahold of Peter's arm. Susan linked her arm with Rose's and held on tightly. Lucy grabbed Peter's other arm. Mrs. Beaver grabbed onto Susan.

The water burst through and a wave of water hit them. Screaming filled the air as the were taken under the rushing water. They resurfaced and they all gasped for air. The Beaver's swam to them and started pushing them towards the shore.

They all climbed onto the shore and Rose and Susan turned around and saw Peter only held Lucy's cost. Rose looked to him in horror.

"What have you done?" Susan asked. "Lucy! Lucy!"

"Has anyone seen my coat?" Lucy's voice was heard. They all whipped around and saw her small frame coming towards them.

"Thank God." Rose breathed out.

"Don't you worry, dear. Your brother's got you well looked after." Beaver said.

"And I don't think you'll be needing those coast any more." Mrs. Beaver said. The group looked and walked around in wonder at the blooming trees.

The group approached the camp. The sound of horns blowing met their ears. The siblings shared a look when everyone turned their attention to them.

"Why are they all staring at us?" Susan asked.

"Maybe they think you look funny." Lucy said to her. The group walked up to a lone tent and a centaur.

"We have come to see Aslan." Peter and rose held up their swords. They turned and watched as everyone kneeled before turning their attention back to the tent.

They watched as a great, big lion stepped out. Rose stared at him in shock. He was beautiful. The four kneeled as did the beavers.

"Welcome, Peter, Son of Adam. Welcome, Rose, Susan, and Lucy, Daughters of Eve. And welcome to you, Beavers. You have my thanks." Aslan said. "But here is the fifth?"

"That's why we're here, sir. We need your help." They all stood.

"We had a little trouble along the way." Susan said.

"Our brother's been captured by the White Witch." Peter informed the lion.

"Captured? How could this happen?" Aslan quizzed him.

"He betrayed them, Your Majesty." Beaver said. The crowd behind them broke into a chatter.

"Then he has betrayed us all." The centaur said.

"Peace, Oreius. I'm sure there's an explanation." Aslan said to the centaur.

"It's my fault, really." Peter said.

"Mine, as well." Rose mumbled.

"We were too hard on him." Peter said. Rose nodded.

"We all were." Susan took up for the two.

"Sir, he's our brother." Lucy said to him.

"I know, dear one. But that only makes the betrayal all the worse. This may be harder than you think." Aslan stated.

Rose stood beside Lucy as her and her two sisters stood both a small stream, "you two look like mum." Lucy stated.

Rose was dressed in a black gown that ended below her ankles. The stitching was a golden color. Her necklace laid beneath her dress and her sword was sheathed against her waist.

"Mum hasn't had a dress like this since before the war." Susan replied.

"We should bring her one back. A whole trunk full!" Lucy suggested.

"If we ever get back." Susan said. Rose scoffed, "I'm sorry I'm like that. We all used to have fun together, didn't we?" Rose felt her necklace start to turn warm.

"Yes. Before you got boring." Lucy replied making Rose snort.

"Oh, really?" Susan asked. She splashed the two making laugh. They got out of the water and Susan grabbed a towel. The necklace was burning.

The three screamed when a wolf growled at them, "please don't try to run. We're tired."

"And would prefer to kill you quickly." Susan threw the towel at them and the crossed the river and the two youngest climbed a tree. Susan blew her horn.

Rose unsheathed her sword, "Rose! Come on!" Susan yelled. Rose held her sword out in front of her as the two wolves circled her.

"Oh, come on." One wolf said to her, "we both know you haven't got it in you." Rose bared her teeth. Rose saw her brother running towards her.

"Back up!" He yelled. "Rose!" Peter ran beside her and pointed his sword at them.

"We've been through this before."

"We both know the two of you don't have it i you."

"Peter, Rose, watch out!" The two stood back to back and watched the wolves.

One wolf whimpered and they saw Aslan on him. Several others ran to their aid.

"No! Lay your weapons. This is Peter and Rose's battle." Aslan said.

"You may think your a king and queen but you're both going to die... like a dog!" Maugrim moved to pounce on Peter but Rose moved in the way, "no!" She screamed. Her sword was knocked from her arm as his teeth sunk into her shoulder. A yell of pain left her lips.

"No!" Peter yelled. "Rose!" Susan and Lucy screamed.

She felt the wolf get pushed off of her and she saw him jump onto Peter. "No!" Rose yelled.

She stood and clasped her hand over her shoulder, which was covered in her blood. She collapsed on the ground next to him. She shoved the wolf off of him and he shot up. He stared at her before pulling her into him. Susan and Lucy jumped down from the tree and ran to the two and wrapping their arms around him.

Rose has been bandaged up. Her shoulder stung with a huge amount of pain. Peter had become a Knight of Narnia. Rose sat on the grass outside the tent they were given. She watched as Aslan approached her.

"That was very brave of you." He said to her.

"Well, I wasn't going to let them hurt Susan or Lucy." Rose told him.

"Yes, but they hurt you." He said. She looked up at him.

"I'm not any more important as the rest. Why did Santa give me the Necklace of Eve?" Rose questioned him.

"Because, you may know Peter will be High King, but you. You're High Queen. Besides, your story doesn't end here." Aslan said to her.

"What do you mean?" She asked him.

"That's for another time, dear one. Now, I must go. I have a feelings our troops are returning." Aslan walked off leaving a confused Rose.

She sighed and went into Peter's tent. She fell onto his bed where he sat. "How's your shoulder?"

"It hurt. The fox was right. Their bite is worse than their bark." She mumbled. Peter scoffed.

"You shouldn't have jumped in front of me. Mum told me to protect you." Peter said to her.

"Well, mum told me to look after you." She retorted, "like Beaver said. You're no use to Narnia dead."

"Neither are you! I heard yours and Aslan's conversation. High Queen? Sounds pretty damn important to me!" Peter said. Rose rolled her eyes.

"Just shut up." She said to him. He glared at her, "Peter."

"What?"

"A witch wants our blood. How funny is that?" She laughed darkly, "we left to avoid this kind of stuff and now we're the cause of it."

"You sound ridiculous." He said to her, "come on. Let's go outside."
