Chapter 30

Moana's POV

  Maui just proposed to me and Te Fiti made me into a demigoddess in the same day. To think that just about a year ago, I was normal teenage girl living with controlling parents set on the path to be the future governor of Florida and now I'm on top of the world. I'm so happy and so blessed. Maui truly is the love of my life and being married to him feels like a beautiful dream. The funny thing is that it's actually a beautiful reality. Maui and I are heading back home to spend a few weeks planning our wedding before we actually tie the knot. "Hey Maui, just out of curiousity, which realm would you want to get married in?" He looks at me with surprise, my question throwing him off guard a bit. "I'm fine with getting married in either realm, though I think getting married in this realm would be a little better. What about you Mo?" I nod in agreement. "I'd prefer getting married here too. In this realm, my grandmother Tala can watch in spirit... wait I have an idea!" 

   Maui chuckles. "You're so adorable when you get excited about something. What's your idea princess?" I blush and smile up at him. "Let's get married on Te Fiti." Maui grins at me. "That is a great idea. I can't believe I didn't bet you to it." I giggle. "You're smart Maui, but I'm the genius in this relationship." He pouts and crosses his arms against his chest. "Baby, let me feel like I'm not an idiot once in awhile." I giggle again. "I can't help it that I'm a smartie." He rolls his eyes playfully. "Yeah a pain in the ass little smartie." I look at him in mock offense. "How dare you say such a crude and unspeakable thing!" He chuckles. "I'm joking. Don't get your panties in a twist love... or do. That's up to you. If you do get them in a twist, I'd be more than happy to untangle them." A super girlish squeal comes out of my mouth. "Maui, don't be a pervert!" He blushes. "I'm a guy with hormones, I can't always help it." His grin then shifts into a serious expression. "Mo, I'd never come on to you like that if you weren't ready. You do know that right?" 

   I look at him seriously. "Maui, I know that you wouldn't pressure me into anything, especially sex. I also know that you've been so gentle with me and understanding. Most guys would have broken up with me by now because I've been withholding sex for a year now. I'm not doing it on purpose. I'm just one of those girls that believes in waiting until after marriage." He nods. "I know and I absolutely respect that. I wish I waited until marriage myself, but sadly I wasn't a good guy back then." I put both of my hands on his cheeks, cupping his face gently. "It doesn't matter what kind of guy you were in the past Maui, all that matters is the amazing guy you are now." A tear slips down Maui's cheek and I wipe it away. "Princess, you always know exactly what to say." I laugh with tears in my eyes. "The same thing can be said about you Maui." He sniffles. "I really can't wait to be married to you Moana." Tears blur my vision and before I know it, I'm crying tears of joy. "I can't wait to be married to you Maui." 

   Maui frowns. "Princess, why are you crying? Did my idiot self say something stupid again?" I giggle. "No Maui, I'm not said. I'm crying because I'm happy. Have you ever cried tears of joy?" He shrugs his shoulders. "I'm honestly not sure, though I think it's safe to say that I might have just shed some tears of joy. I didn't know people could cry when they're happy as well as when they're angry or sad." I beam at him, wiping away stray tears. "Well Maui, you learn something new everyday." Maui chuckles and wraps an arm around my waist, pulling me close to him while he sails. "I sure do. Thank you wise teacher." I bow playfully. "You're very welcome." Before I can make a wise crack, Maui pulls at my waist once more, pulling my body against us, yearning for a kiss. I give into the temptation and we share a magical kiss as an engaged, soon to be married couple. Yay us!
