We all go into the living room to wait for the car. My sisters begged me to wait for them to go out into the living room before I wet out. So, I did wait for them. Linlee came out in a skintight black dress. Lacy was in a tiger print dress. Daniel is wearing a aqua tux. Erick is in a maroon colored tux.

A knock at the door means the carriages are here, one for the girls and the other for the boys. My mother is not allowed to go, because she isn't getting chosen. She could get attacked. We walk over to our carriage and hop in. We arrive at the palace and walk towards the door. There is a staircase leading down into the ballroom. As we enter they give us masks. All of our masks match our dresses and tuxes.

Erick goes first walking down the stairs, Daniel follows behind him. Then Lacy walks elegantly down with Linlee a few yards behind her. Finally it's my turn, I start walking down the stairs trying to look elegant. In the crowd, I see a cyan dress flash out of view. I go to follow, maybe I can see who is my brother's mate. It is the only explanation for the color of her dress.

Once I am out of the door to the garden, my hand is grabbed and I am pulled into a bush.

"Stay away from my brother." The lady in cyan says, omg she is Eliza the princess.

"Shouldn't I be saying that to you vampire." I say rudely.

"Hah, no you shouldn't. I met him last year, so I was going to chose his family. But my idiot brother did that for me." Eliza answers.

"So, what do you mean by 'Stay away from my brother'. I hate the prince why would I want to go near him."

"What do you mean? You are Clara Park. Aren't you?"

"Yes, I am Clara. And I am leaving."

"Remember my warning."

"Okay, psycho." I says under my breath.

"I heard that." ooops I forgot vampires have really good hearing.

I straighten my dress and go back inside the castle. I walk over to the table reserved for my family. No one is there. I sit in my reserved seat. Someone comes walking over. They show their face, Its Jewels.

"Hi Clara, I wasn't expecting to see you. I turned off my TV after section 5 was announced." She says, then she hugs me.

Jewels is my vampire friend from school. Her parents wanted her to go to a human school. We are the same age, she is just a pure blooded vampire. Though a couple of months ago her parents disappeared. Like they always do. They are around for her birthday and 2 months after, but they leave right after.

"Are you having fun? Where is Derek? He never leaves your side." Right as I say that Derek comes walking over holding two goblets of red liquid (blood I think).

There is a stranger following Derek, they pass right by them to walk over to me.

"May I have a dance?" The mysterious man says.

"You may." 

I grab his hand and go to the dance floor. We start swirling and twirling. We don't talk at all, we just stare into each others eyes. When it is time to leave, my sisters come over.

"Clara come on, we have to go home now. Mom is going to be worried sick." Linlee says

I say a quick goodbye and go off towards our carriage to go home.
