The circus

Ugh. My mom made our family go see old abandoned places that she liked to go to as a kid when they weren’t abandoned. “Mom can we please go home now?” I moaned. “One more destination,” she said smiling, “this one was my favorite.” We continued to drive and we ended up at a creepy abandoned circus. We walked out and my little sister was digging her fingertips into my arm in fear. “Its ok,” I told her with my voice shaking, “mom is just trying to s-scare us.” We continued to walk toward the circus tent. This was the creepiest place on the face of the freaking earth.

We walked into the tent and a terrible scent hit out nose like a brick to the face. “EW!!” I said disgusted. Just then a creepy eerie version of ring around the rosy came on. There was a little girl singing it in a slow, soft, terrifying tone. I looked to where my mom was expected to be but she was gone. I suddenly heard a scream. It sounded like my moms and the song stopped. The child spoke again. “One down” she said giggling. Holy freak we are all going to die if we don’t get out of this place.  The music started again but this time it was louder. I ran carrying my little sister. I ran into a dressing room where the clowns and such would be. I gasped as I had just found out what the awful smell was.

I covered my little sister’s eyes while staring at the source of the smell. There were dozens of decaying bodies on the floor each having a wound in different areas in their bodies. They looked like ax cuts to me then something caught my eye and I started to cry. I saw my mother laying in a pool of blood with an ax mark in her stomach. The music outside the door got louder then it stopped. I opened the door thinking the girl was gone. I told my sister to stay inside as I walked out of the room. I closed the door so she would be safe. I heard something behind me so I turned around. The little girl was smiling at me creepily with white eyes staring into my soul. Only then did I see a large gash in her head and an ax in her hand. “The final show” she said as she threw the ax.

The ax pierced through my neck and I fell to the floor. I saw my sister open the door and cover her mouth as tears formed in her eyes. The little girl turned around. “Join me,” She said. She threw the ax at my sister’s head. When it hit, my sister didn’t fall to the ground. Instead her beautiful navy blue eyes turned white and she smiled. “The show must go on” she and the little girl said in unison. I closed my eyes as a tear rolled down my blood stained cheek.
