The temperature continues to climb and climb until finally the cause of the heat is found. A wildfire has begun to encircle the arena. A wall of flames pushes the tributes towards the center.

Ravenwillow had started the morning by drinking from the nearby river and eating some small prey. While he was eating, the fires began and he was forced to flee away from the outer edge of the arena. He began to flee north and found himself still in ThunderClan territory but now much closer to the Cornucopia.

Nectarsting was unable to find any prey or water last night so she chose to travel to the west. After a little journey, she encountered the wildfire raging across the plains. She fled to the north, remaining in WindClan territory. Unfortunately, she still saw no water to quench her thirst and give her any protection against the heat.

Waspthorn drank water from the river that he was currently nearby and then chose to explore his surroundings. He was able to find and recover small herbs which he stored for later use.
