I seem to write about sunsets a lot
Because they've always been special
From capturing my first sunset view
From the top of the terrace
To my first time sending those pictures
To you who clicked the sunset too
And sent it to me and somehow
The sunset became a connection
Something to capture
Something to cherish
Something to remember
Something to connect
Me and you, us, this relationship
And this is the first thing
That I don't want to selfishly
Keep to ourselves alone
Rather I want everyone to see it
The beauty of it
The grace with which the sun
Goes to sleep in his bed
Just like I want the world to see us
Together, one such evening
Hand in hand
Locked in an embrace
Becoming one with the sunset
Because this is as special as the sunset
If not more, much more
Only if I could sink into you
Deeper than the sun in the horizon
Melt into you more than
The sunrays melting into the clouds
Because I want to lose myself in you
Never to be found again
Just like this sunset
Just like this little ray of hope
For this parched soul
For now our places are different
But the skies are the same
The angles and time maybe different
But the sunset is the same
The same thread of connection
Of love and belonging
Of poetries and us
